of the ski resorts they are loving this. this is prime condition for them to be making the snow. we have seen them making snow now for past two mornings and it looks like they are getting a decent base as well. meanwhile lets go next to storm scan three where none of the nature made snow here to be found on the local map. we could show you great lakes region. they have been getting hammered hard but we will keep clear skies. because of that temperatures will drop readily. these are the numbers to beat this morning or at least to tie a record we have to hit these values. it is pretty close right now. we are definitely in a race with the actual air temperature. currently 12 in mount pocono. 2 degrees shy off the record. few degrees shy in atlantic city. we need three more to hit the record in philadelphia at international air port where we take our official observation anyway. around the region we will go and this is best you can hope for, guys. these are colder then your typical nighttime lows. at this time of the year. that is saying something.

at best though 36 degrees is warm spot in the pack here down the shore where we have moderating influence coming off the ocean water and expect that sunshine but yeah, still just cold outside. now thankfully by tomorrow we will get a modest rebound but notice the the cold front that starts to cross at that point. another sign of things to come. yep, you guessed it another drop on the thermometer which we will talk about as we move forward in the show but for now we will send it over to you, vittoria. >> thanks very much, katie. traveling out and about right now as i have mentioned time and time before it is still moving well. so we still have some good news. lets take a look outside and take a look. taking a look at 95 around the broad street air area, southbound and north bound, there is a breeze. maybe heading to the philadelphia international airport. lou great as well. no delays at the the airport. again just a lot of good news, great way to start your morning even if it is chilly out there. a as we take a look at the schuylkill expressway in delays in either direction

"eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer is in springfield township with more on when that market will reopen, nicole, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, ukee. the market was closed yesterday as normal and this morning we are told produce row will open up at 7:00 o'clock this morning as scheduled. as for indoor market it is typically opened from thursday through sunday but as you can see from the extensive damage here in building four which is what we are looking at here this morning it will be a while before this portion of the complex badly damage by fire is opened for business. as smoke billowed out of windows and flames shot from the roof the fate of the columbus farmerrers market hung in the balance.

>> walked up from the wawa. i'm just waiting to see is what going on. >> reporter: business owners watched and waited as one of the delaware valley's oldest, largest flea markets came under fire. all hope their shop would be spared but those in building four got bad news. >> we don't know what will transpire from the fire or anything and they have outside where there will be able to open up out there or in the because we have a location outside also. >> reporter: four alarm fire which requires 150 fire fighters to keep contain left heavy damage in only that one section of the mark. fire officials a say firewalls helped. >> cold weather and wind were really a big issue on this, give the fire a good head start once it started in there. >> reporter: while merchants have lost everything including business at their busiest time of the year, fire officials are giving thanks ahead of the holiday, that the market was closed and no one was injured. >> had it been a busy thursday

late 1980's. new jersey born rocker jon bon jovi is honored for his music and charity work. grammy award winning artist was presented with the prestigious marion anderson award at a ceremony last night. this was the the scene in center city. bon jovi's charity work through his soul foundation has help the homeless in philadelphia and camden. he says he was inspired to take up work in this field ten years ago when he witnessed a homeless man shivering in the cold outside in a philadelphia a help tell. well done. right now, 5:43. my goodness, katie, a lot of folks shivering out there right now. >> absolutely, take a look at this wall of snow in buffalo right now. this is time lapse of the lake effect snow that has dumped almost 6 feet of snow in parts of the upstate new york. some areas get an entire winter's worth of snow in just three days. crazy, crazy, stuff. so, you know, it could be so much worse for us. we are not dealing with any

snow but it is bright, sunny for us for the next couple of days but always that trade off that you get. we have bright sunshine but still so cold outside and by the time we warm up in the upcoming weekend we will track our next storm system. let me walk you through the whole thing. you can see these thin bands of lake effect snow but it looks so innocent but these bands of snow coming down over exact same area for hours now and coming in heavily because it is drawing moisture from the great lakes region. that is the whole phenomenon of lake effect snow. down south east where we reside it is clear as a bell. we have a breezing on out here but high pressure still holding on and keeping control. looking at area temperatures it would be cold enough to produce snow if we had a system to work with. we don't at the moment. we are at 23 degrees at the airport. i did see an observation from our sister station kyw news radio that we have bottomed out at 20. we are waiting for them to

refresh themselves here on our graphic maps. we will take you out towards great lakes region and in the teens at this hour. very, very cold air obviously but no snow here. this is well represented as we take you live to the neighborhood network. pennsylvania palmyra cove nature park at 21 degrees with a west northwest breeze but more modest. bright sunshine today, cold, absolutely cold. tomorrow another cold front is approaching. we will read out ahead of it to the 40's which is still below average. that cold front comes through dry noxious back to the 30's on friday and breeze will reignite and make a return appearance here. we are going on a little roller coaster with sunshine all four days. by sunday we are flirting with 60 but by that point clouds are on the increase and what looks like a rainy monies at least mild at 63 degrees. vittoria, over to you. >> at least there is some sun, yeah, little something. good morning, everyone. traveling on our area majors really all of them in

pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware is there not too much to talk b we don't have something, something every where there. traveling ben franklin bridge, beautiful shot, heading into philadelphia, heading in to new jersey, no delays in either direction. ben looks great. all bridges look great this morning. even our majors 30 bypass here not too far from business route 30 traveling in either direction east and westbound is still a breeze. we are in the seeing long delays just yet, that we usually have around rush hour because we are not at rush hour. we still have 15 or 30 minutes until that point. because of that you'll see speed sensors are nice and high in the 50's. traveling in new jersey northbound on the turnpike at hightstown just beyond hightstown truck lanes are still blocked as a result of the accident. your best alternate toys take route 130 if you can. we have an accident on the 42 freeway right around route 41, so keep that in mind. down pole situation on route 130 southbound and i195. no delays for mass transit. things at the airport look great. don't forget when you are on

making lots of snow in the ski resorts. we are expecting full sunshine for next few days but yet another cold front that crosses through and by friday it noxious right back in the 30's at best, vittoria. right now, the good news, we are not really traffic in the 30's anywhere on the roads. we're still pretty good, traveling in the 40's and 50's, so all and all we have a lot to be grateful for this morning at 5:53. traveling on i-95 southbound we are seeing a few more vehicles. it will only build. however all majors in pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware are still moving very well this morning. however we have 15 minute delays foreman i young norristown line. they are experiencing some wire problems. note that. but again take a look at these speed sensors reflecting great news all over, however, traveling in new jersey on the new jersey turnpike north bound beyond hightstown one lane closed as a result off the accident. route 130 is your best bet. we will be right back with more.
