5:04 am
skydeck, i can tell you that much, and any time that winds blows, it really adds insult to injury. so, here's where we stand with your current wind speeds. the winds is somewhat scattered i guess would be the words for it in nature. it will come through and burst and then sort of let up then pick up again. so we can call that blustery, i suppose, through the course of the day. but it isn't a real strong wind, it shouldn't be enough that it would send your trash can flying down the road necessarily. meanwhile, we take you on out here for the rest of the day. we are expect to go see these temperatures at best climb only into the mid or upper 30's, but keep in mind, that with that breeze, especially at the shore, it will easily knock your thermometer readings back in terms of how it feels outside. soap, most of the day, may not feel better than the teens, but at best, it feels like the 20's. so, those are the kind of temperatures that you really need to bundle up for. vittoria, we send it into you. >> thank you, definitely good idea to head outside little earlier to warm your car up. i hate getting into a cold car. let's go outside, take a look

5:12 am
melt, and the question then becomes, where is all of that water going to go? with this snow beginning to back off, plows are hitting the road to clear over 7 feet of snow on the ground in western new york. it is a difficult path, even in the daylight, with heavy machinery. >> while the cars are completely burried, we actually is crew out there poking with a stick, trying to find out where these vehicles are. >> many residents racing against time to dig out out after being. >> he has in a wheelchair, he has broken back, and he last chemo right now. supposed to be going to chemoment can't do that because he is stuck at home. >> gary was trapped indoors by snowfall for over 90 hours. the national guard finally helped free him. >> you're the best. >> road closures and travel bands are still in effect in some of the hard hit areas. but sudden thawing in temperature and possible rain
5:13 am
could cause even more challenges in the coming days. >> with the melting snow and blocked drains, we could have some widespread flooding issues, especially late sunday into monday. >> reporter: people in the area are now working quickly to clear snow packs from rooftops, which have gun to give way, across the region. and with snowfall, coating ralph wilson's stadium, buffalo bills will now head to detroit to take on the new york jets monday instead of sunday. >> and if you could imagine, erika, the schuylkill expressway just cluttered with abandoned cars, that's what's going on on the thruway outside of buffalo, so of course crews able to get people out of the trapped vehicles, or people trapped in their vehicles, but many people just abandoned their vehicles, those vehicles are still strewn all over the high bay. -- highway. back to you. >> oh, not a break coming their way either, thank you, allison. >> well, the latest on what buffalo is facing in our own forecast, katy? >> still actually seeing
5:14 am
little bit of additional lake enhanced snow falling right now, down wind of the great lakes region. so, again, to keep in mind here, the snow that we saw there was not coming from a large storm system. it was, rather, just the lake effect. we call it lake effect because when that moisture and the cold air move over the lakes, you ends up with a snow forming, and that basically is the bottom line of why we saw so much snow in those areas. let's go ahead and start it off with a look at storm scan3, at least not having to deal with any wet weather here, at least through most of the weekends. but, we are eventually going to be tracking new storm system which will bring in our next rounds every rain. that's what we were allude g to in the package, there the rain that we end one here, by sunday night, the same system that will potentially bring that flooding concern up toward the areas most affected. but we are in the clear for the time being. current temperature readings anywhere from the 20's, to the 30's, to the teens, the wind flow predominantly out of the west-northwest right now, and it is not necessarily a really strong winds, but it is
5:15 am
absolutely enough, and i can tell this from my own experience, it is enough to make it feel really cold. so it, feels no better than 20 right now at the airport, more like single digits in the poconos, more like the teens in almost every other location, that's enough to be bundle up adequately. more sunshine, but breezy, colder today, high no better than 36, feeling no better than the 20's, and then we actually bottom out to the 20's here tonight under clear sky, wind also tapering off, which means we probably start to see some frost forming, and developing on the area windshields. now, we move forward in the forecast, and look at this, i mean, you're going on huge roller coaster ride. monday's my favorite. we flirt with 70. that will also flirt with records. but we do have to deal with some rain and showers specially in the morning, and look at the cute little turkey, turkey day, dry day, sunshine and colder. vet tore crashes over to you. >> isn't ' door be? >> really really cute. good morning, everyone, also, cute is your commute. my gosh, that kind of rhymes.
5:16 am
>> oh, no. >> i try my best to segway as seemlessly as possible, but that was little bit after stretch. traffic really good looking, though, if you are traveling in either direction on 95, any of the majors, you have really good news, this is 95, right around the area every broad street, headed down to the airport, no problems, moving your way into delaware count my delaware itself, it is just beautiful. schuylkill expressway reflecting same good news. >> this shot here not too far from the roosevelt boulevard, but notice, speed censors are great. high up into the 50's, no matter how you cut it, traveling on the schuylkill, 95, 476, 422, 202, so on, so for the, good news just keeps oncoming. except if you're in chester county. 291 jeffrey street, downed pole, watch out for construction both sides of the turnpike in norristown, erika? >> thank you, vet tore y dozens of people are out of their homes early today, in bethlehem township northampton county. sinkhole opened around a truck working on a water main break. we are told that truck sang into the hole, and then onto the gas main, fortunately, though, there is no gas leak. >> also, vigil last night,

>> back to the freezing feeling. >> real chilly start to the day once again. think back to the laskin of mornings, not yesterday, but the few before that one. it was so cold, you had to bundle up adequately. right back into that today, and right now for that matter, but storm scan3, totally empty, nice clear sky, it is breezy, however, as we check in with some of the peak wind gusts here, out at pennsauken, broomall, and little creek, we're seeing those gusts as high as into the 20's, so, it is not necessarily what i would call a super windy day, but it adds the insult to the temperature values, where we currently stand into the 20's, feels more like the teens, where you currently are into the teens in mount pocono, feels more like the singles. so really cold start to the day. high will officially hit 36. but never going to feel like it is even up to 30 in most spots today. vittoria? >> thank you so much, katie. good morning, everyone, most of the majors look great, not most, all of the majors look great. take a look, route one,
