weekend. right now runners are gearing up for an 8k to kick off in just over an hour. we are live along the race route. it is saturday november 22nd, good morning, thanks so much for joining us, i'm nicole brewer. it is 6:00 o'clock. lets check that forecast f you run an 8k or just running errands. >> exactly. >> running errands with your heater turn on. we are looking at a day that is a better day then yesterday. it won't be as windy or cold. not as nice as it would be much of the day tomorrow. we are sandwiched in between. this is not a bad place to be. lets look outside right now. ben franklin bridge is bright, nice and it is cold. we have 28 degrees the temperature in downtown philadelphia. we have a temperature of 23 outside in reading. wind still coming up very slowly and lightly at 2 miles an hour. again from the right direction, out of the southwest and that is going to be boosting these temperatures today. storm scan three nothing, no clouds, no problems,

24 degrees at the airport in philadelphia we have 20 in trenton. twenty-four in wilmington. fifteen in the poconos. dover is 27 degrees. wildwood 21. you get the idea how cold it is. then we will turn on the wind that we do have and it feels like 17, in philadelphia, right now. twenty in trenton. 21 degrees in wilmington. this is another one of our cold starts to the day. we have a temperature by 9:00 a.m. of 32. by noon 40. by 3:00 p.m. 45 degrees. that is milder then yesterday, 37, that was a very high as we could get yesterday. future weather nothing going on, by 3:00 o'clock this afternoon, could you fine a sprinkle maybe thinking of entering the area of the poconos or way to the north and west? it is possible . we will continue to time out that time line and also talk about some very warm weather on that seven day forecast, and the possibility of a coastal storm. we will talk about the timing on that as well, nicole. >> carol, thank you. new this morning,

detectives in delaware county are investigating an early morning home invasion. "eyewitness news" on the 6600 block of church lane in upper darby just after 1:00 o'clock. authorities are still working to determine what was taken, so far there is no word on any injuries. philadelphia police are called to the fair hill section of north philadelphia where a man was stabbed just after 2:00 o'clock. authorities say that the rick tim was stabbed once in the back at westerly high avenue and north american street. he was rushed to temple hospital where he remains in critical condition. an investigation is underway to determine if robbery may have been a motive. a gruesome accident in montgomery county leads one person dead and sends four others to local hospitals. chopper three over the scene at easton and county line road in horsham friday night. that is where two cars collided around 8:00 o'clock. police tell "eyewitness news" one victim was flown to temple hospital, the rest were taken to abington. we are working right now to get more information on the victims an an update to the

condition. new details in the burlington county tragedy that claim two young lives and left a third child in critical condition. investigators now a say they know what happened but they cannot say why. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers is in tabernacle, new jersey. >> reporter: small group of volunteers came to the house around 8:00 just visible through drawn shades. they were clearing a second floor bedroom after a crime seemingly unthinkable just two days ago. >> it was late afternoon when we first learned the details, thursday morning, after 5:00 but before 9:00, 44 year-old jeaninne lepage grabbed a revolver and pillow. she shot each of her children using a pillow to muffle the noise. then she shot herself. >> all four victims were found in the same bed. >> reporter: that is where another relative found them and called 911. fourteen year-old nick harriman and his sister nadia were killed. their were ther alex is in critical condition with his

mother jeaninne both in cooper hospital in camden. >> motive is in the one of those things we will be able to talk about today. we may never know with certainty. >> reporter: it depend if jeaninne le page survives f she does she will be charged with murdering at least two of her children. it is something that the children's father is dealing w he lives in maryland but his girlfriend described the moment police broke the news. >> he just broke down, broke down who arably. it was a horrific shock. >> reporter: shock felt throughout this small community especially on the street where it all happened this woman's granddaughter played with eight year-old nadia all the time. >> it is hard for me right new because when i sit on my sun porch and look out the window i can picture her riding by and waving at me. >> reporter: we know there will be another vigil to held to pray for this family. that vigil at 6:30 p.m. outside tabernacle township town hall. we're outside the red lion state police barracks, matt rivers, cbs-3 "eyewitness

news". investigators are working to determine the cause of this fire in burlington county. eyewitness cam video shows flames raging from inside a home on chris pen road in lumberton. there were no reported injuries. more eyewitness video shows a close call for penn state students when their bus catches fire on the pennsylvania turnpike. matt landis sent this into us, it happened late last night in the eastbound lanes near morgan town. state police tell cbs-3 that everybody made it off safely so that is some good news. there is in word where students were headed or what cause that had fire. traffic was tied up for miles but the the lanes are reopened this morning. well, the fbi arrested two men and charged them with buying explosives they allegedly planned to use during possible protestness ferguson. that town is on alert as it waits for a grand jury decision on whether or not to indict office are darren wilson for shooting and killing 18 year-old michael brown. correspondent omar villa franca reports the decision could come any day. >> i expect the best of

people. >> reporter: st. louis county executive charlie dually is optimistic about public reaction to the grand jury's decision about whether to indict ferguson officer darren wilson. wilson shot and killed 18 year-old michael brown august 9th. the shooting sparked weeks of sometimes violent racially charged protests. it is a scene local officials do not want repeated. >> if protesters are non-violent police will not ab aggressive. >> reporter: cbs news has learned that the fbi arrested two people thursday night in connection with the purchase of explosive materials that were allegedly to be used in pipe bombs during demonstrations. a small number of demonstrators were also arrested thursday night. attorneys representing michael brown's parents say the family says progress will be possible only through peaceful protests. >> they do not advocate any violence, any looting, any rioting. they are totally against that. >> reporter: most ferguson

area schools are scheduled to be opened next week, but administrators have contingency plans in place, in case classes are canceled. in ferguson, missouri, omar villafranca for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". as he faces new scrutiny over old sexual assault allegations, bill cosby was back on stage in florida and received a standing ovation. the comedian performed in the city of melbourne. while the show went on cosby has had shows canceled in six different states all because several women have come forward accusing the the entertainer of sexually a assaulting them many years ago. cosby's lawyer called the claims unsubstantiated and absurd. here's a great story for you, a philadelphia woman is reunited with her dog nearly seven weeks after he disappeared with her car. louie is safe ape sound at home, take a look at this precious puppy here. his owner jj pierce is thrilled to have her black lab mix bag. dog was inside her honda when stolen from the parking lot outside home depot on columbus boulevard in south

philadelphia. jj described for us the moment she was reunited with his dog. >> he walk up to me and started newseling me and it took sometime bring realized they were telling me in the background he has been scanned, this is him. this is confirmed to be him. but i knew it, you know, as soon as he walked up. >> such wonderful news. it is unclear exactly where louie was this whole time, again, seven weeks but we do know two people got in touch with some members of the search party to say they had found a dog matching louie's description. louie was taken to the vet where they confirmed his identity and he was reunited with pierce. louie lost about 15 pounds though in otherwise, good shape. but catching up on some sleep there. good for him. well, hey, happening right now runners are getting held i for this years rothman 8k event, as part of the weekend of festivities cull nateing with philadelphia marathon. big day for our city.

today's events kick off on the parkway and that is where we will fine "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson. steve, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning, nicole. it is race weekend. happy race day to you. i had no idea how big this thing was. this is my first year in philadelphia. while the marathon is happening. you figure it is just one race, one day but that is all it is. the setup is tremendous. there is so many events this weekend including as you mentioned this morning. take a look behind me, the quiet, before the the storm. volunteers here. they have been buzzing all morning. we have been here since 4:00 a.m. i have got to say they have been here longer setting up a lot of material. again, because of how much is happening this weekend. i want to show you video. you have to look at the the sea of humanity that is this marathon. it is incredible this race weekend tens of thousands of runners hitting 26.2 miles of road. this morning though, the rothman 8k kicking off a beautiful stretch of 5 miles

hitting the banks of the schuylkill. about 3,000 people, in this one, participating, adding to the estimated 30,000 participants, 30,000 people doing something race related, this weekend and of course that means traffic delays, closures, until 2:00 this have afternoon on the parkway from 18th to 25th street, the inner lanes of the parkway and mlk drive shutting down. there are a ton of parking restrictions because of security in the area. the 8k kicking off this morning at 7:30 and then the annual kids fun run that is at 10:30. so runners starting to get ready this morning. you can see as we are's back live more of a look at the setup all the way down the parkway there is a lot going on. if you are not a runner or a race fan i would advise to you stay a away from the area because there is so much that is shut down. we've got a full race day guide on our web site. there is so much more to talk about on cbs philly.com, but

a minute long video getting national attention, this morning, a california teacher is on paid admin straight i have leave after students say they caught him on camera dragging a classmate across the floor and trying to throw her in the pool. reporter lea martinez spoke to the student and her attorney.

>> reporter: this 13 user old girl in the video said before her friends started recording their pe teacher dennis peterson touching her she had been trying to get away from him in the pool. the student only want to be identified as miss garcia, says that she swam the laps but refused to put her head under water. >> i told him because my hair looks cute. he told me you always look cute. that made me feel uncomfortable. >> reporter: she says she got out of the pool and walked out. >> he closed the door on me and then opened the door and they said he was going to come after me. >> reporter: peterson followed her up the bleacher and she made it clear she was uncomfortable. >> i seen him coming after me. i was panicking. i threw through water on him. >> reporter: that is when peterson tried to force her in the pool. you can her him tell other students to tickle her. >> it wasn't about discipline. it was but don't want to get your hair wet i will get your hair wet. it will be my way.

>> reporter: miss garcia and her friend behind the camera went to school. we went to the district police department. but we're told no one was available to talk to us. the district gave us this statement saying it put the teacher on paid admin straight i have leave but cannot talk about personnel matters. garcia says that she has brucees from trying to fight her teacher off. peterson is now facing charges, corporal injury to a child. >> amazing story unfolded on the streets of san francisco, a window washer falls 11 stories on a moving car and survives. this all happened in san francisco's financial district yesterday morning. the car's roof caved in and the driver amazingly was unharmed. investigators say window washer suffered serious injuries. there is in word on the cause of that accident. that would be terrifying. some of these temperatures are kind of scary too.

they are in the 20's again this morning. our weather watchers, weighing in, to 21 degrees. it is 21 in cross wick, new jersey. while walking his dog casey he noticed moisture on the grass and it sparkled. that is an optimist. it is cold out there. may find frost. how about 8 degrees, in a cold pocket of air, and even your pockets are cold. have you noticed when you walk outside, even your gloves are cold what a morning. we're waiting for a warm up. let's move over and see what we have got at the the shore, atlantic city, i love this, the sunnies starting to come up. sun will be here, it will be doing good things for the the weather, air coming up from the southwest and will tart to bring temperatures up. yesterday we stopped in the 30's, today middle 40's, tomorrow middle 50's and then on monday it looks like we will be finding temperatures

as high as 70 degrees, around here. just some crazy weather. 24 degrees in philadelphia we have 20 in trenton. twenty-four in wilmington. fifteen in the poconos this morning. when you factor in the wind it feels colder then that. talking about that, machine gets warm, but it starts with rain, we will get morning rain with the slow morning commute. our wind will be coming up out of the southwest, the warm direction, from 15 to 25 miles, with gusts to 35 miles an hour, that brings those temperatures up 70 degrees, record 71 in 1979 and there is a chance that we could be past 70 degrees. we might set a record on monday. these are the other records, that we're looking at and they are all in the upper 60's, lower 70's for all over the area. the other thing we have to watch for as we all know as a big holiday weekend and big who will will day getaway week for thanksgiving. on wednesday, there may or may not, be a coastal storm

forming. we are all hoping may in the be, so it is too early to call it but you could be finding some rain around here, and then maybe even a couple of little snow showers according to one of the computer models as we go into the holiday. no guarantee for any of that, at all, so you can be just dry, and that is it. like your sweet potato that would be the main course of your meal. we are looking at future weather, some clouds coming in here today, would you find a sprinkle through poconos, could there be a tiny bit of freezing rain overnight? it is possible in the poconos. just watch out for that. otherwise, a pretty nice day tomorrow with temperatures in the middle 50's. i a that and then by early machine morning, sunday night into early machine morning and it is during overnight we will start to pick up these heavier rain showers coming in here. they are gone after a the morning hour for the most part, sprinkle will might remain on monday but mostly the warm temperatures. not so warm today though but better then yesterday. forty-five here in the shore,

>> reporter: good morning, philadelphia, it is philadelphia marathon race weekend, and the big one is tomorrow but guess what, there is a whole lot going on before that even kicks off. we will break it down, coming up. all right, steve, thank you. new this morning fire fighters are kept busy overnight in kensington with a fire breaking out inside a building undercover trucks and quickly spreads. and, skip the tip, the new philadelphia eatery where gra tooth is not allowed. and today it is the saturday november 22nd, good morning, thanks so much for joining us. i'm nicole brewer. it is 6:30. lets check that forecast.

do i hear about a warm up, carol. >> we do hear about a warm up. >> finally. >> we need that. we have seen temperatures that have been so coal, temperatures, in the 30's, yesterday, and today will be in the 40's, tomorrow in the 50's and then lets forget about the 60's and jump to 70 degrees for monday. we will look outside this morning and we will see winter, is out there and they are making snow like crazy at jack frost big boulder, why not, with the temperatures as low as they are in the teens out there and they are making a ski slope right now. you go to the shore, you'll look at sunshine. ben franklin bridge. we are looking at blue skies. it is a beautiful morning out there. our temperatures out in reading at this point are cold. 24 degrees. traffic moving nicely and in reason not too. storm can three notice nothing. how we love that look on the weekends with no rain, no clouds, and 24 degrees, philadelphia right now. twenty in trenton. 24 degrees in wilmington. it is cold. look to the north in the teens.

16 degrees in allentown right now. look to the south, it is 21 in wildwood. so cold air definitely here and it feels several degrees colder then that because of the wind. not a lot of wind but enough to drop those temperatures. our highs will be getting to about 45 degrees and more clouds will be coming in later today. air mass is very, very dry. do not expect any precipitation today, tomorrow looks like a fairly nice day too. when we pick up a few more clouds later on, it looks like sunday but even later this afternoon we could be finding a few clouds in here and could there be a sprinkle or light rain shower off to the north and west as we move through afternoon and evening hours? it is possible. i'll finish out that time line when i come back and we will look at that warm day, the within day it is, coming up, nicole. >> carol, thank you. new this morning a fast moving fire quickly spread from one building to others. 3,000 block of kensington avenue. fire fighters say it

startedded in a sports bar under construction but quickly moved up into some vacant apartments. eventually the roof collapsed. fortunately no one was inside at the time. flames were brought under control in 40 minutes and again no one was hurt. well, happening right now ready, set, it is almost race time. runners about to take off for this years rothman 8k event. they are part of the weekend of activity culminating with tomorrow a's philadelphia marathon. our steve paterson is live along the parkway with more on that, steve, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, nicole. it is philadelphia mar then race weekend, there is a lot going on including as you mentionedded an 8k this morning. you can see volunteers setting up. there is a whole lot to do. you know what though it is cold this morning, nicole. we are looking at the setup. we have found a tent over here. we said might as well go into that. we have a little caught up on our cable there there we go,

we got it. we will go inside, it is supposed to be an okay day for running. we are in the running. we might as well come in and check this out. this is a guest tents, one of the many places you can go and relax if you are a runner or special guest. come in here. you can see heat. guys working this. some nice chairs. might as well figure we will sit down and talk to you this morning about the big race. there is a lot going on including as you mentioned the 8k and then kids run that is this morning. but i want to show you years previous. you have to look at how many people come out and participate in this mar then. it is 26.2 miles, that is one that is tomorrow. but if you add up the 3,000 people in the 8k this morning, plus the participants in so many different events this weekend, it is 30,000 people doing something, race related. there is a lot to talk about parking as well as traffic closures that come when you are looking at an event this

it is 6:35 right now. new to a story you'll see only on three accused of a crime did he not commit a 19 year-old has spent months in jail speaks out about what he went through as our walt hunter shows us his ordeal may be over but why it took so long still remains a mystery. >> i just put my faith in god. >> reporter: nineteen year-old tamayo mcduffy, told me how he survived seven months behind bars accused of a crime he he dd not commit. >> i thought about the same thing every day, when i would go home. >> when i seen him with that orange jump suit on and he came out of there that broke my heart. >> reporter: mcduffy's mother remembered her first visit, held in half million-dollar bail, on charges he had had broken in to a blind woman's home on his block turning on the gas jets as he left after being routed by her service

dog. >> that is immoral. >> reporter: first adams and friend raised machine toy get mcduffy released on bail but that reunion came with a terrible financial cost. >> you lose your house, your car, you lose your life, you are broke. >> reporter: once free it would be 11 more months until just this past thursday before the included of suspicion was lifted. the d.a. asking a judge in court to drop all charges. >> it was a great feeling when they said it was dismissed. >> jumping for joy in the courtroom but we could not. >> reporter: district attorney's office said they based it on evident but following his preliminary hearing where a judge ordered him held for trial, questions arose. prosecutors, according to this statement, developed additional evidence raising substantial concerns about the victim's prior history and visual acute. >> i didn't understand why anybody didn't try to investigate more. >> get back in school. i'm a father now.

i'm going to raise my son. be the best father i can be. >> reporter: mcduffy's mother says first she wants an apology from the district attorney. >> a will guys to my son, for not looking into that because you called yourself a d.a. that wants to fight for justice and protect people, you didn't protect my son at all. >> reporter: while would the man who filed the complaint hasn't been available for comment mcduffy's attorney says he believes that she fabricated the entire story, meanwhile, neither the district attorney's office or police will say the case has been officially closed, however, beyond exonerating mcdid you have there i is no plan to move forward with the investigation. at the district attorney's office, walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". police are asking for the the hub's help to catch a knife wielding suspect who stabbed a woman to death in delaware county. violence hand at engel street in chester. police say gwenn williams was stabbed in the chest area on the street early friday

morning. she was able to get to the friend's house where she died. there is no word on a motive for that attack. elderly woman is in serious condition after she was pulled from a burning home in gloucester city camden county. flames broke out on the 700 block of highland avenue friday morning. chopper three over the scene there. a second person was also in the home when that fire broke out and was taken to the hospital for observation. three dogs died in that fire. officials say there were no working smoke detectors in the house and causes still being investigate. a touching tribute to the new jersey fire fighter killed in the line of duty. chris hunter died less than 24 hours after responding to an emergency call. family and friend gathered at cinnaminson fire station yesterday. after a solute his flag draped coffin was loaded on a fire truck. chopper three was overhead as long motorcade made its way to the cemetery for the burial. well, tuesday's fire in north wildwood has claimed a

second life, cape may county fire coordinator arc trayon died a day after fighting this fire on west 17th avenue. the body of the 36 year-old linda martin was found inside. officials believe that the fire began accidentally while martin was handling her kerosene heater. philadelphia police want the public's help identifying a suspect stole a package from outside a home in south philadelphia. take a look at this surveillance video here. on november 14th a woman approached the home on reid street and stole a package left by the post office behind a storm door. if you look closely here you can see the theft actually happening in the reflection of that van window. the suspect was last seen walking away east on reid street. well, we are less than a week away from black friday so do you have that list all made up? well, here's a look, some of the years hottest items from our business correspondent jill schlesinger. >> reporter: american consumers, start your engines, this weekend kicks off the

wind southwest at 15 to 25 miles an hour on monday and then very warm temperatures following that. our highs on monday will be 70 degrees, the record 71 back in 1979 and there is no reason to think we could not squeeze out a degree or two on top of that 72-degree temperature. records to beat in the lower 07's all over at your use or upper 60's in allentown and poconos. warm air will be arriving here but also arriving here courtesy of some of that warm air is a coastal storm that will be forming. that is what we're watching for the possibility on wednesday and as i have been saying all morning there is no consensus with the computer models, just possibility of low pressure coming, does it get close enough to the coast to cause a problem. does it go far enough away we are in the dealing with anything at all. that is something that we will have to watch as we move on through, and then, somebody if it is cold enough to the north, does somebody get a snow flake as well.

something that we've got to continue to monitor but at this point let's monitor today. we've got nothing to look at. until we get to about 5:00 o'clock with a few clouds starting to come in here. i want to call your attention around the poconos, and maybe as far south as allentown, chance of picking up some sprinkles could there be a tiny patch of freeze rain as those temperatures get down to 30 degrees and if you see some of that moisture. it is possible. it is in the a widespread thing. it looks like something that might not even happen but the chance is there with moisture and temperatures just below the freezing mark. sunday we will start fine. we have some clear skies, later on in the day on sunday we will start to add some clouds into the mix and then by the time we will get to the early morning hours on monday, we will start to see this heavier rain come in here. we will fine that by 8:00 o'clock heavier rain has already moved on past up in new york, and we just after i few rain showers that linger. temperatures warming. you'll love it. i think even with that because
