but before we get to all of that, we will have to deal with a little bit of rain tonight. right now storm scan3 is tracking a large system that's expected to bring us steady showers throughout the night. good evening, everyone, i'm natasha brown. thanks so much for joining us. >> it is not very often we talk about temperatures in the 70s and snow in the same week. certainly a roller coaster for us. meteorologist justin drabick joins us now with a first look at the at this wild forecast. i've never seen anything like this, justin. it's pretty active, natasha. two storms this week. the first one coming through our region right now as we speak. the initial showers starting to break out across the city. very light at the moment. steadier heavier rain to the south and west near baltimore continue to move into see sale county, maryland and chester county over the next half hour. we have more rain extending down to the south and west. pockets of heavier rain indicated by the yellows there. so that will come through the overnight. the good news is from the system it's fast moving so we get a quick shot of some rain, we'll see improving conditions probably by the middle of the

morning commute for monday. that's good news there. so overnight periods of rain some of that could be heavy at times overall amounts about half an inch maybe even three quarters of an inch. this will slow down through the overnight hours. here the setup for monday. early morning rain improving conditions through the day, slow morning commute. winds will kick up. that will pump in warm air temperatures in the low 70s. monday afternoon the record high 71. so we could easily break that. 57 degrees this hour in philadelphia. we're getting that push of warm air from the south. 50 in allentown. 52 in reading. nothing cold outside now. we're looking all rain event. look at that. 72 degrees for the high on monday. for philadelphia. 60s at the shore. even low 60s in the poconos with rain ending during the early morning hours. coming up in the full forecast we'll talk about the record warmth how long it lasts and the threat for rain and snow for the big travel day of the year that's coming up in a few minutes. natasha. >> justin thanks so much. see you soon. stay on top of the ever changing forecast by downloading the cbs philly weather app.

"eyewitness news" reporter justin pinch spoke to the man who says he made this gruesome discovery. >> around 1:30 sunday afternoon, police pulled up to this lot off south christopher columbus boulevard near dilworth street where a woman was found dead. hours later, police were back dropping off man who tells "eyewitness news" he found the body and called 911. we're not identifying him. >> had you seen her before? >> no. i never seen her before. she don't have no clothes, no nothing. >> reporter: he says the woman was naked with a large wound near her ribs. police say the woman is white and between 35 and 40 years old and was pronounced dead on

scene. during our interview, police came back for the man and picked him up for another round of questions. nearby businesses tell us that police are scanning their surveillance video in hopes of turning up some leads in this case. but so far that woman has not been identified. i'm justin pinch in south philadelphia, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> well, the mother meantime who police say shot her three children and then herself has now died. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers attended a vigil in tabernacle, new jersey, where community members all gathered to pray for the only child still in the hospital. >> reporter: three days later, and the emotions are still raw. >> i have to say on behalf of them, they are very grateful. >> reporter: jenn, helped organize the sunday night vigil and has spoken victims family members. 14 year old nick and his eight-year-old sister nadia and 11-year-old brother alex shot thursday according to police by their mother jeannine will he

remembrance of the victims of this crime many of which will be worn about school children on monday. outside of the tabernacle town hall, matt rivers cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> officials in mercer county they now say the hunter who was killed in west windsor saturday accidentally shot himself. the unidentified 4584 old chesterfield man had been hunting geese with his father when he was shot in the head and the neck. his father was not injured. and a double shooting in north philadelphia lands two teenaged boys in the hospital. shots rang out just before 6:00 p.m. on the 2300 block of north fawn street a17-year-old was shot in the arm and the leg. a 16 year old was hit twice in the knee. both are listed in stable condition tonight. no arrests just yet in this case but police are hoping that a nearby surveillance camera will provide clues in this case. >> and now the eagles remain their status as the top of the division after another big win at home today against the tennessee titans.

leave. >> marion barry the beloved former mayor of washington, d.c., has died. barry's family said in statement that he passed away at the hospital. no cause of death was actually given. barry served four terps as mayor and was currently serving on the dc council. he gained notoriety back in 1990 when he was caught on video lighting a crack pipe in a washington hotel room with a woman he accused of setting him up. he went on to serve a six term term in federal prison. he was 78 years old. >> now, we're getting a better picture of the damage caused by a very powerful earthquake in japan. the magnitude 6.7 quake destroyed at least 37 homes. 39 people were injured. some very seriously. there have already been more than 45 after shocks and officials are warning people to be on alert for more in the days to come. >> last week's deadly snowstorm

in the buffalo area it's costing new york $30 million. cbs news correspondent jericka duncan tells us that rain and falling temperatures have led to serious concerns now about flooding. >> 100% of streets are passible in the city of buffalo now. >> reporter: buffalo,'s mayor says plows like these have removed 99,000 tons of snow in around the city. 7 feet of snow fell in parts of western new york over three days last week. making for a difficult and costly cleanup. >> it's going to be a significant financial impact. it's a storm of historic magnitude in terms of snowfall in the city of buffalo. >> reporter: but the expense is may get higher if warming temperatures over the next couple of days quickly melt the snow causing flooding. >> if this becomes in effect a dam, then you see the water here build up and come over the road. >> reporter: new york governor chemo is warning residents to

take precautions now. >> people say my home doesn't flood. i know. but there's always a first time, and we're seeing first times all the time now. >> reporter: hundreds of members of the new york national guard have been deployed to the area and there's a warehouse filled with pumps and other supplies just in case they're needed. jericka duncan for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> good evening everyone. temperatures are on the rise tonight ahead of our neck storm system which will push a warm front through the region we're talking potential for record warmth on monday. let's check in with weather watchers this hour. pretty mild temperatures going on. start you off in south jersey where michael checks in at 57 degrees in millville, new jersey. pretty impressive at this hour. little bit cooler to the north of the city. gary killian in warminster checks in 48 degrees. some showers going on as well. that rain will continue to move in from the south and another spot that is seeing the rain this hour is wilmington,

"eyewitness weather" watchers. sign up right now at cbsphilly.com/watchers. outside right now in center city, we have sprinkles across the region. that rain will pick up intensity as the storm system moves in from the south. and west. check the out on storm scan3. mild air mass in place. we don't see any snow at all on storm scan3. the actual center of the storm will track up to the great lak lakes. so we are on the warm side of the system, but pretty good steady rains breaking out near the washington baltimore area right now. pockets of heavy rain will move no overnight. not a large area that's going to move through so it should come through pretty quickly. by mid morning tomorrow most of the steady rain is done. we'll get sunshine in through the afternoon warm front moves through. temperatures in the low 70s for

monday afternoon. a good 20 degrees above average could break some records. as we head towards wednesday we'll track stalled off front offshore and then another area of low pressure will track up the coast that could bring some rain and even some, yes, snow for the thanksgiving eve day the big travel day of the year could cause problems. pockets of heavy rain in come indicated by the yellows and orangandoranges. 7:00 o'clock monday morning start to clear out a little bit more sunshine for monday afternoon. tuesday some clouds around the region as we head towards wednesday morning, some rain starts to move in from the south that could change over to snow especially as it runs into colder air. and we lose the sun especially a wednesday neat could be dealing with snow across the delaware val. temperatures on monday well into the 60s to low 70s. here are the records we would have to break and these are breakable. 73 is the record high on monday for wilmington. 71 in philadelphia. also, low 70s both the atlantic city airport and trenton all these can be reached even in mount pocono. pretty impressive for november.

let's talk about wednesday's storm system this is a gfs model one of the american models that track the storm just off the coast. and leaves some snow north and west of the city so basically i-95 north and west best shot to see some snow across the region so as of now this is how it looks. rain changing to snow wednesday much there is potential for four or more inches of snow north and west of i name. travel in the air or on the roads that will slow down travel through the mid atlantic and northeast. at that is point it is possible lehigh valley and berks county poconos could see snow from this event. we get that change over from rain to snow from philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. later on wednesday. it looks like south jersey and central and southern delaware will mainly see rain from this event. we're three days out this forecast will change. it's all going to be the timing and the exact track of the low pressure system. overnight, though, rain developing periods of rain possibly heavy at times breezy and mild lows in the upper 40s. windy and warm monday.
