2014. good morning. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. folks in buffalo, new york, are holding their breath this morning. all that snow, seven feet, is melting and could lead to flooding. it rained yesterday and more is expected today. temperatures are expected to reach 60 degrees with winds gusting. evacuation plans and emergency shelters are being readiyed and schools are closed. mayor andrew cuomo says it's dangerous for a number of reasons. >> it's a toxic flood. it has sewage in it, all sorts of runoff, and it does tremendous damage with anything that it hits. >> a strong line of storms moved through the south. a suspected tornado ripped through a farm in georgia. meteorologist eric fisher of our boston station wbz says it's

part of a larger esystem that will affect your travel plans. >> we continue to watch the threat. until the morning hours watch g watching. we could still see an isolated tornado and damaged windfall and i went gusts. on the backside, cold air wrapping in asnowfall, the chicago end. also looking at very warm temperatures up into the 60s that woeshlt last for two long. a lot of folks this week on an east coast storm that starts in the southeast, runs up the coastline and looking at strong winds and heavy rainfall along the coast. snow in the interior. what we'll be doing the next couple of days is finding out exactly where that rain line will be. you want to keep an eye on this forecast. we could see some significant delays on a very busy day. i'm meteorologist eric fisher for cbs news.

the missouri grand jury deciding whether to indied a white police officer for killing an unarmed black teenager is expected to meet today. protesters marched last night in ferguson where 18-year-old michael brown was shot and killed by police officer darren wilson more than three weeks ago. ferguson is a town on edge. >> reporter: many who went to church in ferguson sunday got a special message with their sermon. >> we have vary varying views. >> reporter: the community is on edge once the 12 jurors make a decision on darren wilson. he shout 18-year-old michael brown in august. protesters have demonstrated every day since the shooting. some of the events have turned violent. residents are bracing for more

protests regardless of what the grand jury decides. more than a thousand local law enforcement officers have received special training. local and national leaders are urging people to keep their demonstrations calm. >> we're calling upon our members, members of the community to respond to this decision in a nonviolent fashion. >> reporter: the grand jury has been deliberating for more than three months. a decision could come any day. danielle nottingham, cbs news, ferguson, missouri. cleveland police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy. he died last night. he shot by police when he pulled out what turned out to be a bb gun from his pants after police told him to raise his hands. vicente arenas reports. >> reporter: the shooting happened at a cleveland recreation center after this 911

call. there's a guy with a pistol. >> reporter: the officers, a veteran and rookie responded to the call. they never got the information that the gun might be fake. they say when they arrived they saw the boy pick the gun up off the table and put it in his waistband. >> the young man had a weapon in his waistband, he pulled the weapon out. one of the officers fired two hots striking the young man. >> reporter: it was only after the boy was shot they learned he was 12 years old and that his gun was an air soft replica bb begun. he never pointed the gun or threatened them. it was a rookie officer. the boy's name was tamir rice. he lived across the street with his mother. the officer has been placed administrative leave. the cuyahoga sheriff's office is

investigating the shooting. today's the deadline to reach a deal with the iran nuclear program. they're making a final push in exchange for lifting tough economic sanctions. it's been reported that secretary of state john kerry told iranian officials it's time to consider extending the talks if no deal is reached. an american executed by isis is being remembered. he was captured last year in syria while delivering relief supplies to refrefugees. and a new report is drawing fire from republicans. a gop-led committee conducted the investigation. it was meant to answer allegations from republican lawmakers about how the white house responded to the attack. four americans were killed including ambassador chris stevens. susan mcginnis is in washington. susan, good morning. >> good morning, anne-marie.

this report follows a handful of others that looked into the attack on benghazi and it came largely to the same conclusion. no wrongdoing on the part of u.s. officials. a two-year-long investigation into the 2012 attack in benghazi is finally over and it has cleared the white house of wrongdoing. >> there was no standdown order, no political interference. no effort to spin the talking points. >> the committee led by republicans found that they acted proper will i in their response and it did not miss an opportunity to rescue four americans killed in the attack. >> i think the report's full of crap. >> lindy graham continues to believe the white house has withheld information. >> the people who looked at benghazi in a stovepipe fashion have not come up with a reasonable explanation for all the shenanigans. >> the report found the compound

but if we go in to a party, greek or not, we do not trust we're not going to be sexually assaulted. >> reporter: uva is one of more than 80 schools under investigation for alleged title ix violation including the mishandling of sexual assault. it's also one of a dozen of schools under a repliens review, the most serious kind the didn't conducts. on saturday uva president teresa sullivan issue add statement saysing she's asked the charlottesville police department to address the 2012 incident. this will require institutional changes cultural change, and legislative change, and it will not be easy. we are making those changes. the university's governing board meets here in charlottesville on tuesday to discuss the school's policy regarding the sexual assault including the latest
