>> no, what a day indeed with temperatures still in the 60's and record warmth across the delaware valley. in philadelphia today we did make it to a new record of 72 degrees. the old record, 71, setback in 1979. it will stay mild tonight, even into tomorrow. it is still 70 degrees in dover. sixty-six in reading and allentown. fifty-eight in the poconos. there is warmth throughout the keystone state, but there is cold, through the midwest and that will be moving in. national weather service has issued a winter storm watch, for wednesday's snow. philadelphia is included, mercer county in new jersey is included, and all counties to the north and west of philadelphia. we're talking about a accumulating snow. now it will be moving in wednesday morning, and philadelphia and suburbs it starts off as snow. this is a classic nor'easter. it will bring rain, through philadelphia south and east to the north and west a mix and then in the lehigh valley and poconos, snowing most of the day. here is a look at how it will

transition over the the course of the day, so in the poconos you have mainly snow, but through philadelphia and its suburbs you have some rain, mixing over, and changing to snow, and then through south jersey mainly rain to the shore but even down the shore, it will end up as snow late wednesday night. so how much snow is expected? well, we're still looking and working outnumbers and we will have them at 5:15. in the meantime i want to end it north to south white hall township where my collogue just continue drabick is. it is amazing. everyone keeps asking is this possible. >> yes, it is correct, kathy, amazing stuff on a take like today. we broke record. we hit lower 70's in allentown breaking old record of 69 degrees. we are in south white hall township just off route 22 exit. beautiful night, clear skies, temperatures good 20 degrees above average. it feels more like early fall in the late november and it is hard to believe many of us will be needing shovels in a

couple of days. from one weather ex-dream to the other today people are outside wearing short sleeves, pretty soon they will need snow gear. right now temperatures are more than 20 degrees above normal but we have to face reality, winter is just around the corner and that means snow. >> it is wonderful, you know, it has been kind of crazy. i'm equipped were being jet, long sleeves and then this is like wow, what is going on. >> i am here, in fact, i ordered my snow blower but, because everyone else wanted the same snow blower it is being held up. >> they better enjoy mild temperatures while they can because our first plowable snowfall of the season is coming on wednesday and timing could not be worse, wednesday is one of the busiest travel days of the year. >> i have family coming here and we're worried bit. it will be, it sound like it will be a significant snow. >> reporter: at this hardware store stores are stocked with salt and shovels to snowblowers.

flooding concerns around buffalo right now. temperatures there are near 60 and rain is falling. the governor of new york andrew cuomo has urged residents to have an evacuation plan in place in case. also the national guard is standing by with pumps, generators, rescue teams and sandbags. we will have more from buffalo coming up 59:30 today. breaking news now from ferguson, missouri we are toll the grand jury has reached a decision whether to indict police officer darren wilson for shooting unarmed teen michael brown. cbs news correspondent omar villafranca has latest. >> reporter: barricades are in place and security heightened where a grand jury has decided if ferguson police officer darren wilson should be charge with the crime for shooting death of unarmed teenager michael brown. the decision will be announcedded soon. cbs news caught up with michael brown, senior this afternoon. how are you feeling today. >> unaudible. >> reporter: is what your message to the people here.

"eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter tells us it is 29th fire death this year up from 24 this same time last year. >> reporter: as flames engulfed a home on the 200 block of wyoming avenue at noon time neighbors heard screams from occupants, to save children, trapped inside. >> they all ran out screaming and hollering. >> the mom also, my baby, my baby, my baby. >> reporter: nine adults and children managed to make it out but as flames spread i four year old little boy was still trap. neighbors like karl johnson trying to go inside to get him. >> he was saying get my baby, get my baby. >> i ran up to the second

floor, steps to the second floor and i could in the go no further. >> reporter: searching the building fire fighters found 49 year-old boy in a bedroom. another child and woman with two fire fighters, suffering non-life threatening injuries. police say father of the victim was able to rescue a child of another family from the burning building, but when he tried to return to rescue his own son, he could not person straight flames and smoke. >> we have another saturday, for city of philadelphia, we lost another one of our children. >> as fire officials searched for a cause, they have confirmed smoke detectors installed by the department in 2011 did sound but they add in a fast spreading fire like this one, it is also necessary to have a home exit plan, to make sure that everyone has a means of escape. in feltonville, walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". developing right now, the search is on for a missing mother of three, she vanish

while on a break from work. jessica paget was last seen leaving her job at the duck, duck, goose day child care center in north hampton, pennsylvania. "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson is live with the very latest on the search tonight, steve. >> reporter: jessica, you said it, this is a three three-year old mother of three, newlywed and neighbors say had no reason to walk away from her life in this tight community, yet police are saying she's vanished since friday with no tips, no leads, and no person of interest. meanwhile police found her car in this parking lot where a new search started today. someone with the strength to speak to a brother pleads for his sister's safe return. >> i just want my cyster found. that is all we ask a at this time. >> reporter: he stands mountain same place where police say three three-year old jessica paget rannish. she went missing friday in broad daylight. co-workers at northampton's duck, duck goose child care say jessica went on a lunch

>> we love this weather. >> yes, well, it sound like it is coming our way. >> it is coming like a freight train. >> yes, we just can't stop it. we're talking about record warmth, and now we're talking about snow on the horizon. developing nor'easter. it will bring, snow to the part of the region, mess of the region during the day or nighttime hours of wednesday. take a look outside because they are in one place where we want the snow. they have been trying to make it for the ski season at jack frost big boulder and guess what, they will get the jackpot of snow, in the mountains. some higher elevations could get 10 inches of snow in the mountains. lucky for them. we will not see that much, however. take a look at temperatures, still holding on to the 60's. philadelphia 68. allentown 66. trenton 66. the the same in reading. poconos 58 degrees. so mild right now. it is 68 degrees in dover. we are looking at developing changes across the region. you can see dry conditions right here. we have a cold front that will

sneak through tonight but moisture will go to the north. you will not notice it but it will knock temperatures down tomorrow afternoon. still above average though. then we will watch an area of low pressure developing along this dying front and it will bring us rain and some snow. watch what happens. during the day tomorrow not much of anything. this area of high pressure noses in the philadelphia area and brings us a pleasant tuesday. then here is that developing area have low pressure off the coast. it moves up the eastern seaboard as a nor'easter and get that nor'easterly wind ahead of it, rain for philadelphia, adjacent suburbs south and east, wintry mix in the northern and western suburbs and snow in the lehigh valley and poconos this moves toward the northeast away from . we will get cold air behind it. it changes everything to snow, and during the evening rush and for wednesday evening. in new england, and fast mover. also temperatures will be borderline. so at first it will not be sticking to streets, it will be on the grass surfaces.

this is what we're looking at as far as snow amounts, for information we have right now. coat to go a couple inches through south jersey and down the shore could see a coating of snow, two to four along i-95 corridor. in the northern and northern western suburbs four or 5 inches of snow. lehigh valley towards poconos on the upper end is seven offer eight. poconos eight plus as you go towards the north, and towards the east. this is what we expect, rain changing over to heavy wet snow. it could cling to the trees and wires. wind will be gusty and both commutes will be slow. overnight low temperature, 52, and during the day tomorrow only 56, and a on the three day, we're looking at temperatures getting colder though. fifty-six will feel great, wednesday, rain to snow, thanksgiving, chilly, and but dry, 41. that is you're witness weather forec

i'm chris may. we are following breaking news this evening. we are awaiting word on whether the ferguson, missouri police officer darren wilson will be criminally charged in connection with the shooting death of michael brown. the grand jury has reportedly made it decision tonight and an announcement could come at any moment. meantime here in philadelphia mayor michael nutter is preparing for any potential protests. >> i think that there will be a reaction. so whether it is in ferguson or in philadelphia, we are prayerful that the folks will be responsible in expressing their sentiments. >> we will have more within the hour and, of course, on the "cbs evening news" as we await the grand jury decision. a four year-old is killed in the fast moving house fire

seneca, new york. >> reporter: with temperatures in the low 60's, mountains of snow in western new york are melting quickly. >> that is a lot of run off and water going into the creeks and potential flooding. >> reporter: the creek in west seneca and others in the buffalo area have listen in the past few days. there is no widespread flooding at this point but authorities say that can change instantly. especially if ice jams suddenly break. officials are warning people in low lying neighborhoods to have an evacuation plan. not only are western new yorkers keeping a very close eye on creeks like this, but they are also concerned about the wind, that is because winds are expected to gust up to 60 miles per hour later this afternoon. >> when water logged ground it wouldn't be surprising if trees blow over or branches topple down which can take down power lines. >> reporter: authorities are urging residents to clear heavy snow from the rooftops as quickly as possible. because rain and possibly more snow is in the forecast for tuesday.

jericka duncan for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". more than 775 members of the new york national guard have been ordered into erie county and buffalo to help with flood prevention. well, president of the lincoln university has resigned after making some controversial remarks about women and sexual abuse. board of trustees accepted the resignation of robert jennings on monday morning. back in september, jennings spoke at a women's convocation about how false rape allegations can ruin a man's life. some felt that his words made it seem that women were to blame for sexual assaults. take a listen. he did later apologize,

the university's general council valerie harrison has been named it acting president. well, the foxwoods casino connecticut has indefinitely postponed a show by bill cosby that was scheduled for january. that adds to several cancellations last week for the embattled comedian as he faces a growing number of sexual assault allegations. no reason was given by fox woods for postponing that january 31st performance but at least 29 dates do remain on cosby's touring calendar through may of next year. well, calls for action at the university of virginia tonight after reports surface that had a female student was raped by seven men in 202. the victim's account was detailed in an article public by rolling stone mal seen. leaders of the virginia student body addressed the public today, saying that there does seem to be better solution toss what has been tribe as a hidden culture of sexual violence. in the meantime, uva has issued a temporary ban on all

fraternity activities. former head of the montgomery county republican party pleads in contest to indecent assault. the plea from robert kerns admits no guilt but concedes prosecutors have enough evidence against him had that case gone to trial. kerns was sentenced to two years probation and must register as a sex offender for 15 years. victim said she was happy with the plea and feels justice has been served. pennsylvania state police say when the occupants of the disabled car got out of their vehicle they were hit by a truck. this happened in the northbound lanes of i-95 and chester city just after 3:00 o'clock this morning. six three-year old dorris ann goldwater of elkins park was pronounced dead at the scene. her two passengers were seriously hurt and remain hospitalized tonight. chopper three over an overturn vehicle on the schuylkill expressway. this was the scene just after 10:00 this morning near 28th street exit. no other vehicles were involved, in word on any injuries. well, we're learning more tonight about an incident in

cleveland in which police opened fire and killed a 12 year-old boy. authorities say that they had video showing exactly what happened there although they have not released that to the public. the child who has been identified as tamer rice was reportedly brandishing a fake gun at a local park. the responding officers ordered him to raise his hands but instead he reached for the gun that was in his waist band. >> our officers at times are required to make critical decisionness a split second. unfortunately this was one of those times. >> witnesses originally called nine # one to say the the gun was probably fake but it is unclear if that information was relayed to the officers. we're told that an or land safety indicator had been removed. baby survived for a week, and, two people biking on a trail when they heard that baby. they found it with 6 feet down

be stored in each of the counties 400 police vehicles. good evening, everyone. it is definitely a busy rush hour. you will fine rush hour delays on the schuylkill, 95, vine street expressway, speaking of the vine street expressway i know it is difficult to see here. camera is zoomed here pretty far but traveling on the westbound side of the vine approaching broad street we are dealing with the disabled tractor trailer and we are getting milk reports. it started out as a disable truck and we are starting to see that it now has potential to be an accident scene where more vehicles are involved. regardless, westbound on the vine approaching broad street you will fine that the left lane is blocked and it is starting to build residual traffic as a result of that. lets talk about rush hour 95 traveling northbound out of delaware county it is a wash really. southbound i-95 slow go from the airport down just beyond 476, and even around the commodore bear bridge. speed sensors on i-95 elsewhere, in center city 15 miles an hour. two # one on the schuylkill.
