beautiful evening on the sky deck just to tease us of what is to come. record high temperature today was 71 degrees, and we dit. we beat that record of philadelphia before the snow, moves our way. the high today, 72. that beat old record of 71 setback in 1979. so we have a couple mild days to talk about warm today, sill in the 60's across most of the region and then mild again for tomorrow. we have 50's and 60's to the west. big problem comes wednesday, the nor'easter comes up the northeastern see game. national weather service has issued a winter storm watch for southeastern pennsylvania and also mercer county, in new jersey. we're talking about accumulating snow. this is how it will play out. area of low pressure develops along this front and moves up easterne board as a strong nor'easter. we will see rain, mix, snow and all begins early wednesday morning. mainly snow through lehigh valley and poconos, rain change to go snow along i-95 corridor and adjacent suburbs

mainly rain down the shore but it will, indeed, end up as snow. back here live we're here talking about significant changes to our weather that all begins tonight. we are also talking about the heavier snow, ending up in the lehigh valley and poconos. that is where my collogue justin drabick is in south white hall township. justin, are they ready for us. >> i don't think they are ready for it. they are ready to prepare but i don't think they want the snow just yet. hard to believe it is thanksgiving week and we are talking about temperatures in the 70's today. we broke some records, live here on cedar crest boulevard and 22. and, yeah it is hard to believe that right now we're still in the 60's. nice night with clear skies but in a couple days we will get out those short sleeves shirts we have today and bringing out snow shovels. are you ready for a roller coaster week? in allentown people were enjoying mild temperatures. you could break out short sleeves. that is because temperatures are more than 20 degrees above normal. in fact we hit a new record in

allentown today, a high of 71, breaking old record of 69. our first plowable snowfall of the season is on the the way for wednesday and timing could not be worse. wednesday is one of the busiest travel day of the year and penndot crews are already gearing up to make sure your holiday road trip is a safe one. >> it will be one of the busiest travel days of the year so we want to do our best to get the roads down and our priority will be to do the best to keep roads clean and priority will be interstate and expressway first and then move on to secondary roadways. >> reporter: business is brisk at area hardware stores as people stock up on winter weather supplies. so what is causing this roller coaster week of weather? blame it on the jet stream, a ridge in the jet over east brought record warmth and now get ready for another dip in the jet stream bringing in cold air and fueling a coastal storm. we are expecting a plowable snowstorm in the lehigh valley, national weather service issued a winter storm watch for potential for more

see police commanders behind me in the west side of city hall, they have been preparing for weeks for any possible demonstration that is might come. this west side of city hall newly refurbished plaza location of post tensionally one of the demonstration this is evening. take a look at this video we shot a few minutes ago. these are bike officers. they are typically the officers that are deployed around large demonstrations. they were used during the occupy demonstration a few years ago. they are if you will, the first wave of police intended to help keep order if there is a crowd disturbance and there is no indication that there will be. police here at city hall keeping a very low key but intense eye on what developments might come throughout the evening. they have been planning. they have manpower in the area , and if demonstrators arrive here, they will be watching them allowing them of course to express their views, to say what it is they want to say and they want to make sure that nothing gets out

offhanded, or there are no problems. right now preparations on the west side of city hall potentially a protest vocal spot well underway, very low key, planning underway for weeks and everybody waiting to see what the evening will bring. live from city hall, walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you very much. local religious leaders are urging peace and calm. >> "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us live from arch street united methodist church. what is going on where you are. >> preparations are underway right now inside of arch street united methodist church and said to be gathering point for demonstrators this evening. it is organize by group pal. they are a local clergy group made up of churches and church leaders to take a active role in policy here in philadelphia and across the country. i can tell thaw many of them were actually in ferguson as they say the clergy there played a very critical role in the escalating tensions between protesters and law enforcement. they plan to use that same know how this evening, once

former head of the montgomery county republican party pleads no contest to indecent assault, the plea from robert kerns admits no guilt but concedes prosecutors had enough evidence against him had the case gone to trial. kerns was sentenced to two years probation and must register as a sex offend are for 15 years. victim in this case issued a statement saying in party want tone courage others who experience sexual assault to take the difficult step to come forward. i will not say that this has been an easy road but do i believe it is one that promotes healing and brings power back to you. thank you. efforts to save a feltonville family trapped in the burning home, eight people made it out alive but the body of a four year-old boy was found inside. fire fighters were called here to the 200 block of west wyoming avenue just afternoon time today and they found heavy flames. smoke detector alerted occupant inside the structure and neighbor later told us how he tried to help. >> he was saying get my baby,

hard fell praying that it wasn't, any bad news. >> there are a lot of people praying for three three-year old jessica paget, community darling, newlywed mother of three, missing since friday. >> she was a very giving, loving person, very hard worker and very dedicated. >> reporter: co-workers at duck, duck, goose child care say jessica was acting perfectly normal friday afternoon when she went on a lunch break. >> just a regular day. we did not expect something like this to happen. >> reporter: police say she took that break around 1:00 saying she was going to run errands but she never came back. they discovered her suv in this dollar general store parking lot a half a mile away. her cell phone inside the vehicle, in trace of guess contact. >> i just want my sister found, that is all we ask at time. >> reporter: this afternoon we spoke to the northampton county district attorney and says at this point he is heading the investigation but we have no reason to suspect foul play. we have a description on our

new jersey is putting the brakes on red light cameras in just about three weeks from now traffic program will shut down and those cameras will go dark. >> "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan has more from gloucester township where officials don't want cameras to go. report run a red, field a dread had maybe not as catchy as click it or ticket. >> but she got the point when she received automated red light ticket. >> i received a letter in the mail a few months after that. and, had in idea, and, no idea. >> reporter: new jersey's has been testing a red light camera program for almost five years. hundreds of thousands of tickets have been issued, and millions of dollars collected

in fines by 24 municipalities that participated. one year gloucester township alone issued two # thousand ticket and collected about a million-dollar in net revenue. but according to police crashes at intersections with cameras, dropped by nearly half. >> people are driving, and, they are driving. >> reporter: safety benefits of red light cameras are hot liz contested topic and critics have won the day. red light program is set to expire december 16th and will not be renewed. assemblyman deckland scanlen led the charge begins the cameras. >> this program is nothing more than governmental theft. as of december 16th the program will die, and merry christmas, everyone. >> reporter: many say merry christmas indeed. >> i will be happy. better chance of not getting a ticket. >> reporter: some safety officials worry end of cameras means less accountability on the roads. >> we will to have make up that difference. obviously there were violations occurring at these intersections which effect safety of people and we will need to police that. >> new jersey law, municipalities november

rain, it will bring a mix and snow by 7:00 a.m. wednesday morning. in philadelphia, we will change over to snow during the afternoon and evening. this storm moves quickly away. by wednesday at 11:00 p.m. it is over new england. this is what we expect coating through 2 inches, even coating possible down the shore at the even of the storm two to four along that i-95 corridor. for lehigh valley, reading, berks county and in the poconos, eight plus in those higher elevations, we're talking about a foot of snow possible. in the ski resorts we are looking forward to that. rain will change over to heavy wet snow in philadelphia, on wednesday, we will be clinging to the trees, wires, because temperatures will be borderline freezing, winds will continue to be out of the northeast becoming northwesterly and gusting to 30. we will have a slow morning commute and a slow evening commute. overnight a low mild 52, the high tomorrow, 56, and that is still above average and on the exclusive eyewitness weather, seven day forecast, we will have a stormy wet with a high
