4:18 am

maintenance reek also blocking the left-hand lane and new they are moving out of the way which could be good news but we will follow them. usually they just move to another spot. that is westbound 76 right around area of montgomery drive. eastbound we are doing okay, rest of the majors look beautiful, look at the vine street expressway, it is a breeze so far. but again so far so good. things will change. we will get to kate any a minute. speed sensors are great. 467, traveling 55. we will see 202, 422, all moving well. not only in pennsylvania but also in new jersey and delaware. say for the the airport, things still holding on but definitely won't be like that for the remainder of the day, katie, give us a break down. >> okay, lets go ahead and start things off right away with what the current conditions are right now. we are starting to see this storm get underway, and it is at the moment really just bringing in some rain. once these temperatures drop we will begin to see changes get underway too. we will start off with which we can to sky cam three and
4:25 am
then throw over a couple of the current conditions, at the moment, it does appear that we have a couple of damp roads out there, maybe first signs of the rain drops falling here in philadelphia, and so yes, moisture is overtaking the region. we are at 50 degrees. we will not find anything but plane old rain around philadelphia, for now. that will change as that colder air tarts to wrap in but for now, if you were to leave for your holiday travel right now you only would be dealing with rain. so that would be a far easier drive for you and there are not that many people on the roadway just yet. zooming things out, one more time, you can see that even down, across, really you have to go in the appalachians to find any mixing taking place. everybody else is dealing with strictly rain but i want to walk you through what you can expect here from north to south. four to 6 inches for basically lehigh valley region and berks county. it will be mainly a snow producing event even though we have seen some of the rain moving in, it will turn over, up in the poconos we are looking at over a half foot,
4:26 am
ease letter i can see eight or more inches in the highest mountains. heading in towards the city closer anyway, chester, montgomery, bucks count a cross the river in mercer, two to 4 inches of rain, turning to snow, and then wayscally looking at the same scenario here just lighter totals, heading a across the delaware, again into south or i should say mainly central new jersey and new castle county in delaware. city of fill a slushy 2 inches, is generally what we're looking at right around that. meanwhile further south we will go we will find stronger winds towards the coast but it will be mainly just wet roads if that is where your travels take you but please do so very carefully here today. no matter what precipitation you run into it will be a mess i drive or flight, or train ride for you, mainly rain before 7:00 as we have seen on radar already and then snow will be winding down later tonight into the evening. it is mostly the whole day thaw are looking at this, guys. winter storm warnings for counties in pink, winter
