it is thursday, november 27th, happy thanksgiving i'm's ukee washington. aim nicole brewer in for erika this morning, it is time to roast that turkey, early morning, south philadelphia bakery carrying on a long time thanksgiving tradition. it is no holiday for many chain stores guess how early one retailer is opening up its doors for preblack friday bargains. >> how about that, black friday has changed. >> opening earlier and earlier. >> remember we used to wait for this day and five or 6:00 a.m. everybody would charge in, those days are gone. >> those door buster days. >> lets see what the weather is, for black friday and check in with katie and weather, happy thanksgiving. >> no one else is gone, that

it still looks like a relatively active pattern here. we are dealing with lingering moisture in the north carolina a, virginia region. we have had light snow still falling across northern suburbs here but here's the brunt, a whole state of maine is still encompassed by heavy snow a at this point but the the storm itself and brunt of it is pulling away. i mentioned those lingering concerns we will talk about those too. there may be some slushy roads, we will talk about snow amounts months forward in the show but where we have heavier snow there may be slush that is still out there and because temperatures are marginal and freezing we could see untreated surfaces freeze over, that includes your driveway, that includes the roads and sidewalks. so there might be patchy black ice, out here, but just use caution. thirty-seven is current temperature at the airport right now. i had in problem driving in myself this morning with any kind of icing but if you go further north, even in allentown 34 degrees, that is cold enough that the surface may have just sort of slicked over.

are marching band across the country. we won't forget santa claus who had has been part of the the parade since 1920. parade kicks off at 8:30 this morning. starting point at 20th and jfk boulevard ape makes a left at 16th street and then turns on to the ben franklin parkway and wraps up at the art museum. preps are underway for macy's thanksgiving day parade, this year six new giant balloons will float down new york's sixth avenue, they are among more than 40 balloons that will take part in the parade and this is the 80th year for the macy's parade. great tradition there. thanksgiving is when we share our gratitude with family and friends around the dinner table. it alsoe involved to beating the clock on these bargains. k-mart will be first to open today. we are looking live at northeast philadelphia a. for 23 years that retail chain has opened the doors at 6:00 a.m. to let you hospital for black friday deals. it will stay opened for 42 consecutive hours. some people camping outside stores for black

friday deals, at least two shoppers are spending the the night outside best buy in cherry hill. one has a tent, to stay nice and dry and warm. the other does not. now they are in line for tickets to purchase a $500.50-inch tv for $200 tonight. wow, hopefully it is worth it. k-mart is not only retailer opened, radio shack opened for business a at 8:00 this morning. at 5:00 best buy and toys-r-us are opened. for more stores opened up at 6:00 including wal-mart, target, kohl's and macy's. retail are a they are opening for consumer demand. retailers are at the ready and so is new jersey eatery ready to feed those less fortunate. this eatery in pitman, prepped their kitchen for 3,000 meals. role tears will package turkey, stuffing and vegetables from people to camden to atlantic city. in the sixth years meals bring special meaning to the venice's owner.

county charged a miss would go man's stepfather with her murder. police say gregory graf killed jessica padgett a wife and mother of three. she disappeared on her lunch break. officials described what happened just ten minutes after she went missing. those investigators continue to look into a sexual mote any of this case, graf could face death penalty if evidence shows padgett was assaulted. third child who was victim of the murder sue identify in burlington county has died. eleven year-old alexander harriman died at cooper university hospital. harriman's mother says 44 year-old jeaninne lepage shot and killed her three children in tabernacle before shooting herself. lepage died last week even. trump taj mahal says it is seeking new financing to get through chapter 11 bankruptcy case. trump entertainment resort is asking a bankruptcy court to approve a five million-dollar loan from billion air karl eye

well, another thanksgiving tradition, lives on, president obama has spared two turkies from becoming a center piece on the table. the the president, pardoned the lucky birds at the white house, both mack and cheese, mack and cheese, were born in july, weighing nearly 50-pound. big turkey. they will now live out their days on the virginia farm. annual tradition of pardoning turkies began in 1989 under

active atmosphere, still tracking residual flurries, and snow showers and where it is too mild, just a few rain showers at this point. there is still some stuff, out there, so we may still have lingering snow showers traveling say the northeast extension here early this morning. that will all start to taper off and day progresses we are left with some clouds. lets look at how we did, albrightsville, did pick up 8 inches, allentown just shy of five, perkasie weighing, just over 3 inches and feasterville, because it was mainly rain mixing with that snow it could not accumulate a as easily except on the unpaved surfaces. while it was slushy, and sloppy out there yesterday it wasn't accumulating easily near the city. a very pleasant holiday weekend, coming up, this turkey is just dancing his rear off because it is so excited, yes. thankfully this weather, do i hear, yeah, there it is, i love it, all right. we have a nice quiet pattern
