>> this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news" . here are some of the stories we're following today. "black friday" send bargain hunters in search of great deals. but some shoppers don't wait. >> in sport the eagles take soul possession of the lead in the ffc east. we'll recap the thanksgiving day feast in which the cowboys were the main course. that was fun to watch last night. >> oh, it certainly was. the best dessert for all of those thanksgiving -- >> common and thanksgiving day was beautiful. i think the cold is coming back in today. carol erickson in the weather center thanksgiving day the

temperatures were not all that bad, 43 degrees, certainly better than it was the day before. today i think we will be finding temperatures, ukee, diane, that will be dropping down little bit. we will be finding these temperatures getting probably no higher than the upper 30's, all day long. so some sunshine out there, having little impact on our temperatures. we have a week of temperatures, though, that are all over the place. and i can't wait to slow you that seven day forecast, that's coming up. >> all right, thank you, carol. grab some turkey leftovers, head out the door, it is "black friday", official start of the busy holiday shopping season. >> jan carabeo live at the king of prussia mall this morning, where some shoppers stat dollars their shopping right after thanksgiving dinner yesterday. good morning, jan. >> diana, ukee, good morning, now, there aren't whole lot of people here. but there is a good amount of people here at the king of prussia mall this morning, i would say one of the busier places is starbucks, i wonder why, right? because a lot of people have been out here pretty much all night long, king of prussia

mall opened right around 6:00 last night, now some stores did close overnight, but dozens remain opened, i'm told, about 50 stores have been open overnight. couple of people i've run into have been shopping all night. i met these two ladies, they're from blue bell, melissa, madison, good morning, you have been up pretty much overnight. got here about 11:00 last night? >> yes. >> what are you looking for? >> just lots of deals. >> deals, the only thing that will keep you here for eight hours, right? >> yes. >> you expect to be here for about eight hours because you are waiting for other stores to open watch are you waiting for? >> the big will you will you lemon sale, yes. and lord and taylor. >> lord and taylor, where we're stationed. now tell me, you guys have been here so long, you actually had wardrobe change, is that what happened? tell me about it. >> well, it is so hot in the mall today. as soon as we got into the stores, she was dying with her sweatshirt on, i had to run and get her a long sleeve shirt, they didn't have any

t-shirts, so she put it on, not realizing you would see through the shirt, didn't prepare to get a white one, so we changed right in the first store. >> so i imagine since you have been here since 11:00 you should have a lot of bags. where did they go? >> all in the car, keep going back and forth. >> so you have hands free shopping. >> we have like 20 bags in the car. >> what kind of deals have you guys got never good ones out there for you? >> yes, we bought a lot of stuff. we got good deals. >> and do you remember if there was half or sales, anything that sticks out. >> i can lilled navy 50% off the entire shore, body shop had like three for 33, something each product, and perfume there. >> do you guys do this every year? is this tradition for you or is this first time snipping. >> it started last year, and like a tradition. >> just for you or is it for family members too. >> just us. >> true. a lot of clothes for my son

tonight, too. >> so that's what we'll hear all morning long, some people we're running into, most of the people running into right now have been here around the clock. we'll have continuing coverage, but for now i send it back to you in the studio. >> making it through the night the team at toys "r" us stores are heading into their 12th hour this morning. "eyewitness news" is live inside the cherry hill location where the door stay open through 11:00 font. leggo's, barbie's, sky lander video game characters, among the hot items at this location, at 7:00 a.m., toys "r" us has fresh set of deals arriving, including, frozen theme dolls, and digital tablets. >> and "eyewitness news" at the moorestown mall in burlington county, new jersey, it was packed with lot of shoppers look to go cash in on all of those "black friday" bargains. the mall will remain open until 10:00 tonight. >> the time now 4:34. and it is time for traffic and weather together.

hello, carol. >> high, everybody. so glad you're awake. i can't believe how many people are at the malls. so we've got -- you know what i did? >> i here you. >> i turned this off by accident, okay. but did i hear the producer screaming in my ear carol, turn your mike on. it is on. 33 degrees, we've got very nice start to the day, if you like cold temperatures, and those temperatures are going to be chilly all day long. storm scan3, there were few flurries out there, don't be surprised if you see a couple of them, but that should not be the general trends for the day. we should be looking at a day with sunshine today. but cold, 25 in allentown, 25 in the poconos, 34 degrees in philadelphia, 30 in millville, 36 down in wildwood. so it is a cold start to the day. and the rest of the day is going to be cold, too with these temperatures staying pretty much in the 30's the entire day, even by noon at

36 degrees, and by 3:00 p.m., our high temperature, so-called high temperature for the day, get to go 39 degrees. let's time out any future weather we see. again, couple of little flurries might be scattered around, going through the day, and first part of this morning through the poconos, the rest of the day locks fine here. few clouds do come in tonight. and then this computer model says oh, no, maybe couple more sprinkles, snow sprinkles, that is, coming up to the pocono area. and this is a little feature t wants to swing something through. even tomorrow, at 11:00 in the morning, not sure it will amount to anything, continue to see whether that even materializes. but, that is just a look at what this computer model is thinking, but again, today, high temperature, 39 degrees with that breeze. so, let's try and enjoy a colder day. and temperatures over the next couple of days, we've got them all over the place, 30's, 40's, 50's, svelt tore ya? >> thank you so much, carol. good morning, everyone, we are

covering all of your holiday shopping commuting as of right now our majors are pretty quiet. how much, we do have an incident to mention. if you are traveling on the schuylkill expressway, 76 eastbound, the ramp to 476 southbound, we do have vehicle that actually went off of the road. unfortunately, tow truck now on scene, and police on scene the shoulder being block here, so any traveling in this way you will notice that. but it is again in the process of being cleared out of the way. so shouldn't be there too much longer. little difficult to see in the shot, but tac-pal bridge was up t looks like it was put back down, and interestingly enough with the werth today actually had to jump on the talcony palmyra bridge and give it a salting because it was slippery. usually bridges are the first thing to freeze. so any traveling over the bridges today, make sure you're dropping your speed down just to take it extra easy. bridge now reopened. good news thereafter the earlier putting back up. anyway, traveling on our majors, still speed sensors still great.

high up in the 50's, not only pa but in jersey, delaware, all looking good. traveling westbound on the turnpike at the schuylkill expressway, be minds full of some holiday travelers. >> thank you so much. e-a-g-l-e-s, you know it, philadelphia eagles stay alone atop the nfc east after a victory over the dallas cowboys. eagles running game looked better than it had all season. shady mccoy great blocking, put up 159 yards on 25 carries. his 38-yard touchdown run would seal the deal. he just turns on the jets right there. and he's gone, first win, 33 to ten, defense and special teams got it done, as well. shady says the team came together for the win. >> where we're at in the season, all of the talk, you guys saying about me, about the line, and all of that, where we need to get a big winment as a team, as an unit, we worked hard in the running game today.

minutes at major retailers over grand jury's decision not to indict a police officer who fatally shot michael brown. national guard troops and law enforcement officers were outside the wal-mart, that boarders ferguson, and st. louis. >> supreme court justice ruth bader ginsberg home after an operation. she left a washington hospital after doctors implanted a heart stent to clear a blocked artery, justice ginsberg, now 81, expected to be back at work on monday. that's when the supreme court hears its next rounds of arguments. ginsberg has battled a series every health problems including cancer. >> our time now 4:43, let's get our weather checked with carol. i saw a few flurries throughout this morning. >> yes, there were few flurries out there, like we need them e but i guess people are out there shopping for christmas, so they probably enjoy a little scene setting by another nature getting out there with special effects. you can stop it now, mother

nature. we intoed the sunshine. let's take a look, see what we have out there right now. you want to know, we've got snow. this is man-made snow. just look at the snow gun going up at jack frost big boulder. unbelievable. with the temperatures as cold as they are, they're able to make the snow as they are. and they're able to lay down a lot of it on the ski slopes there. temperatures this weekend, will keep the snow right where it is, as well. we have 33 degrees temperatures in reading at this point. it is dark, it is quiet, it is not a problem getting around at this point, at all. 34 degrees, in philadelphia. we have 31 down in wilmington, 30 degrees in trenton, 25 allentown, 30 in millville, 36 degrees in wildwood. all of these temperatures are slightly colder than they were yesterday morning at this time. but they'll be even colder tomorrow morning at this time. storm scan3, few of those flurries, ukee saw some, i saw some, diana, did you see any flurries in. >> on my car this morning. >> there were some on her car this morning. so we get grounds truth from

all of us. vittoria? >> i saw some. >> you still might encounter couple. temperatures in the three's today. looks like nice cold scene setting day for the holidays, temperatures tomorrow will be in the lower 40's, but still, it is pretty chilly around here. we move into the future time could there be a flurry two? could there not and flurry or two? watch for that first thing this morning. generally the weekend looks like it will be quiet f you're outside shopping, know that these temperatures all day today are going to be on the cold side. probably no higher than 39 degrees. thirty-nine in philadelphia, shore, four it, the poconos, just 30 degrees, with that possibility of a snow shower there, as well. the winds coming up out of the northwest ten to 15 miles an hour. that will tend to make it feel colderment and then tonight, 27 degrees, and it could be even couple of degrees colder than that in the outlying areas. by the next couple of days, 42

tomorrow, 53 degrees by the time we get to sunday, monday, almost 60 degrees, looking at some just terrific weather at that point, and maybe early shower on tuesday, at 43 degrees. >> well, in sports, it was the day eagles fans had circled on their calendar, cowboys in dallas with first time this time in the ffc east on the line. birds came up huge, as you know, first quarter and the birds strike on opening driver. mark sanchez took it in himself for early seven-nothing lead. but that wasn't all. still, first quarter, and sanchez, who managed the game quite nicely with his offensive teammate hit the jordan for the score, birds got 159 yards and touch from shady mccoy. the defense handled their business, as well, eagles dismantled dallas 33 to ten. >> touchdown, our guys came out with great energy. excited to play. we knew it was a non-traditional week. we have nothing to do with the schedule. if you tell us to play we'll

>> time for check on business news. >> money watcher jig walt -- jill wagner joins us from the new york torque stock exchange, market closed on thanksgiving, but big news when it comes to oil and gas prices. tell us. >> good morning, ukee, diane a opek ministers met in vienna yesterday. decided not to cut oil production, the persian gulf oil produce letters keep pumping out 30 million barrels a day, there is an over supply

right now because of booming production, with this news out of vienna, global oil price plunged to another four year low, roughly $72 a bathroom. but this is all seen as big boost for consumers to blow oil prices, found prices at the gas pumps to four year lows. so no complaints there. ukee, diane? >> jill the all-important holiday shopping season is officially here as you know, experts dishing out some advice to avoid sales traps watch are they saying? >> yes, that's right. retailers are learning shoppers deep discounts, but not all created equal. experts say strait jews. today, "black friday", the good time for electronics and name brands purchases, like apple, where things aren't usually on sale. for clothe, and jewelry, though, they say, you may finds better deals closer to the holiday. some experts say the average discount is about 39%. so don't settle for less than that.

>> traffic and weather together. here's vittoria. >> thank you so much, ukee. good morning, everyone. it is "black friday", and the roads, hi, everyone. many hey, i was just about to step out, hey maybe i should come back, here i am. good morning, everyone, you know, traveling on the majors, looking great out there. it is wide open for you. maybe if our serious shopper like that, you're traveling along 95, then you will hit franklin mills, maybe hit neshaminy, maybe drive to delaware for tax free shopping, you are free and clear if you are traveling on 95. this shot here around the area of walt whitman bridge, not far from south philadelphia. no delays in either direction.

all of the majors in pa, new jersey, delaware, no matter where you are shopping, speed censors high up into the 50's. no delays, and no problems. now, this afternoon, we do have a flyers game, in south philly around 1:00. so if you do plan on doing any holiday shopping around this part or traveling in this part you may notice little bit of volume. watch out for construction on 295 northbound, at this moment, at the off ramp to route 13. the ramp is closed as a result that far construction, so again, something to be mindful of, mass transit looking great, airport looking good, but we just have to deal with a cold, cold day. >> and i know you are a super shopper. >> where did you get that from? >> yes, that he why you can rattle off all these malls, just practically in your sleep probably that. >> that's true. >> looking at great day to do anything outside as long as you are bundled for t looks night. ben franklin bridge from the campbell's field camera. nice and bright. our temperatures today will be cold, and they're starting cold, 25 degrees in the poconos right now, and they're
