in philadelphia this is cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> now at 11:00, a slippery night as snow squalls cover some area roads. this as eyewitness video from bedminster, bucks county where winter weather kicked up tonight making roads slick. good evening i'm jessica dean. chris may is off tonight. >> tonight's weather is part of the same system that delivered all of that rain yesterday. kathy has been tracking the nor'easter and she joins us now with the latest. kathy? we're looking at icy roads especially north and west of philadelphia. this picture you can see some flurries. this is in montville right where county line road and 202 meet. you can see the roads look wet and on the sidewalks we're seeing some snow showers so watch out for those icy spots during the late night hours. on storm scan3 our storm is well to the north of us over new england but that wrap around moisture is producing narrow bands of snow or snow squalls that are creating bursts that are dropping a half an inch of snow in some places in about 20

minutes. you can see another one through the lehigh valley and reading berks county moving toward the south right now in chester county montgomery county we have a bit of a snow patch right here right along perkiomen heading to the south and right on north gulph road we're talk bowing the area near tredyffrin also valley forge park, the the upper mainline. you could be seeing some of this snow moving your way within the next half our or so. you can see in pennsburg, pennsylvania, montgomery county, seeing some light snow even on the grassy surfaces during the evening period. so these are scattered batches of snow. right now in the poconos visibility is reduced. that is where we still have that winter weather advisory in effect through early tomorrow morning for one to 3-inches of snow. winds still gusting between 20 and 30 miles an hour across the region and it will stay cold so overnight we do have these snow squalls especially north and west of the city. some slippery and icy roads, any of those untreated side streets will be icy even come tomorrow morning. during the morning the temperatures will be in the 30s but wind chills stay in the 20s.

where montgomery was last seen on thanksgiving morning. natasha brown is tracking today's developments. >> reporter: new video may provide new clues in the search for shane montgomery. the west chester university student went missing early thanksgiving morning after leaving a bar in manayunk. now law enforcement officials say they've seen a glimpse of the 21-year-old on surveillance video from this camera perched behind christie's nail salon in manayunk. >> yesterday they came again for more and today they came again for more. but i don't know if they find shane or not. i don't know. i hope they do. >> reporter: video reportedly shows shane walking toward a bridge over the map young canal toward a parking lot near the schuylkill river. then vanishing. that image capture at 1:50 a.m. after montgomery left kildare's pub a block away. police dives team concentrated their search on that part of the river looking for any sign of the missing student. >> somewhere somehow it doesn't look good but we still pray.

we still hope. >> reporter: "eyewitness news" spoke to shane's mother karen by phone. she says "we want to thank the fbi and the philadelphia police department. they are working tirelessly to find out what happened to shane. i know they are focusing on a certain spot. my prayer now is that they find him and they can bring him home to me ". >> it was a sad story. we were shocked to hear it actually happened along here because we -- we moved here in august and we walk our dogs here two, three times a day. we always feel safe here. roar report while pedestrians walk by, shane's image is every present on missing posters adorned with green ribbons. no one willing to gust up hope of finding shane any time soon. >> police dive teams may return to this area of the schuylkill river continuing to scower the river looking for clues. meantime, the reward for information in this case has now risen to $65,000. in manayunk, natasha brown, cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> new tonight, take a good look at the white sedan in these

surveillance photos. the person inside had just committed an armed robbery inside the deptford mall. detectives say the male suspect pulled out a gun inside the macy's monday night and order an employee in the lingerie section to empty the register. that suspect got away with over thousand dollars and is still on the loose tonight. >> a surveillance camera set up and side philadelphia home captures a robbery in progress. the problem was, the homeowner was an hour away eating thanksgiving dinner. take look and watch as the hooded suspect entered a home on the 1200 block of rodman street in washington square west. he took jewelry and a dresser organizer before leaving the same way he came in by scaling a high patio wall. using an app linked to his alarm and surveillance system the home own are in received an alert asking if he wanted police called. that homeowner spoke exclusively with "eyewitness news". >> the app, rolled the video back actually saw the burglar in the house going up the stairs to the master bedroom.

i was nerve wrenching. stomach just immediately clenched up. you know know knowing we're an hour away. somebody is in the house. what are we going to do about it? how can we get the police there as fast as we can? goodbye the time police arrived that suspect was gone. the home opener estimates he was in and out of the house in under two minutes. two suspects are in custody tonight and facing charges after a student is stabbed on drexel university's campus. investigators say six students were involved in a fight. one was stabbed in the back during an altercation outside myers hall. that's in the 3300 block of race street. the student was treated and released from the hospital. >> medical students in our area joined every joined thousands of med students across the country protesting grand jury decisions in ferguson and new york. wearing their white coats a group of penn med students spent 4.5 minutes blocking traffic on walnut street. that time represents the 4.5 hours michael brown's body was in the street. >> and med students at temple university in north philadelphia

also took to the streets in this white coat day of action. holding signs in solidarity with protesters in other cities. police say both temple and penn students were within their rights to protest and they were peaceful. no one was arrested. in the wake of the unrest, cbs news conduct as poll to show how americans are feeling about the role of race here in ameri america. after the inauguration of president obama in 2009, 66% said race relations were good compared to the current 45%. when asked how did police make you feel? 80% of white respondents answered mostly safe. compared to 52% of blacks. 43% of blacks who took the survey say they felt quote mos mostly anxious. organizers hope an inter faith rally in north philadelphia will serve as a call to act in the wake of deaths in ferguson and new york. ministers at new vision united methodist church spoke the last words of seven african-americans who lost their lives including

eric garner's i can't breathe. it's modeled aft the seven last words of christ spoken during good friday services. >> funeral arrangement are set for philadelphia firefighter joyce craig lewis. the first female firefighter killed in the line of duty. today investigators returned to the seen of tuesday's fire on middleton street in west oak lane. they're still looking for the cause of the fire. they're also trying to find out how the 11 year veteran died while fighting flames in the basement. neighbors say they're also checking on the elderly woman craig lewis helped rescue from the home. >> that was miraculous. that really was because that fire raw really, really, really strong. we all feel bad for the officer who lost her life, though. >> flags in philadelphia are flying at half staff in honor of joyce craig lewis. >> and funeral services for craig lewis will be held at bachelor brothers funeral services on north broad street. the viewings will be held friday night from 6:00 to 9:00 and saturday morning from 8:00 to 10:00.

>> a woman whose accused bill cosby of raping her in the 1970s has now filed a defamation lawsuit against the comedian. tamara green alleged cosby publicly branded her a liar when his lawyer called her claims quote absolutely false. in the federal lawsuit filed in massachusetts, green says cosby drugged and raped her when she was aspiring model. cosby's lawyer has not commented on the lawsuit. >> tonight we're hearing from a boater rescued after being stranded at sea for nearly two weeks. the us coast guard brought ron to shore after he was rescued off the coast of hawaii. back on thanksgiving day he radioed his 25-foot vessel was taking on water. big waves damaged his mast and radio antenna and for 12 days search crews could not find him. abraham sent out one last distress call on tuesday and that's when the coast guard tracked him down. >> just about to give up. my radio is out. i got a coat hanger and some

look at our "eyewitness weather" watchers we're talking about cold windy conditions and in some spots even snow showers. we'll start to the north in the perkasie air chuck pressler is saying there's snow showers. temperature is only 29 degrees and the pressure is rising. right now in wilmington see a few snow flurries as well lisa reportinreporting to temperaturf 36 degrees and windy conditions. light snow showers. windy she says it feels like it's 26 degrees a good night to snuggle. that is for sure. take a look at some of these wind gusts across the region. middletown delaware 20 miles an hour sustain at 19 in burnville where we've seen snow. middletown delaware and townsend 1020 miles an hour sustained winds with higher gusts. go to cbsphilly.com/watchers. >> outside we're looking at cold and cloudy conditions in center city philadelphia on storm scan3 we have less green on the screen and more white.

that nor'easter is over northern new england pulling down cold air and there is enough moisture to bring some localized snow squalls even into the philadelphia area. there's a pat patch of snow just to the west of scranton and some of this may make it through overnight. if you don't have any snow on your lawn right now, you could come tomorrow morning. you can see through allentown and also berks county a patch moving southward there. that will go into montgomery and bucks. another patch right here in the southern part of chester county, and right through the northern part of new castle through wilmington, along 495, 95, upper chichester, even into media broomall and chester county. some snow showers here. some of these could create poor visibility but definitely slick conditions overnight on those untreated roads. please be aware of that come tomorrow morning. snow amounts through the afternoon and evening you can see albrightsville 3-inches. mount pocono. .6-inch. elverson .6. allentown .4-inches. right now in philadelphia 36. 32 in allentown.

24 degrees in the poconos. a lot of cold air to the north and the west. that is where our weather is coming from. it's going to stay that way for the next couple of days. and then things will begin to change. right now when you combine the wind that's gusting to about 30 miles an hour and the temperatures, we're creating feels like readings that are at 10 in the poconos. in philadelphia it feels like 26. in allentown it feels like 23. tomorrow our storm system pushes just a little bit to the north. still a chance of a rain or wet snow shower to the north and west of the city. still some wind. during the day friday improving conditions. the sun returns. saturday more sun and by sunday, i think we'll be seeing some mild conditions. here's the good news. as we look to our eight to 14 day outlook way into the future, we're talking about temperatures above average. well above average through the midwest but we'll take what we can get above normal and normal around 48 degrees for this time of year. overnight windy and cold with some localized snow squalls. these thin bands of snow bursts that will be moving through. the overnight low 32 with winds
