"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us flu southwest detectives, to tell you more about it. jan, good morning.

>> reporter: ukee, good morning, that's right, five a year old man is now in custody here at southwest detectives. police say he was caught in the act of assaulting a university of pennsylvania grad student last night, and now they believe he could be responsible for the assault of four other college student in university city in the last week alone. now, police say, this most recent attack came at 6:30 last night. at 41st and pine streets, near the campus of u penn. police say woman was walking alone on pine street when hit from behind with a bicycle lock. suspect then demanded her purse. fortunately, police officers already in the area because of other recent robberies. they saw the suspect dragging this woman down the street, and jumped in to rescue her. this was just the latest incident however. police believe this man could be linked to two broad daylight assaults on drexel university's campus just yesterday, also, a 23 year old woman was sexually assaulted at 47th and chestnut on monday and on saturday another woman was attack, but escaped her

attacker at 41st and sansom. this string of attacks has had this campus community on edge. >> it is terrifying. it is not a great feeling knowing you cannot be safe in your own neighborhood. >> scary, i mean, i would advise caution. >> now, police say, the victims in all five of these assault were college women. again, this 55 year old man is now in custody, police are looking into whether he is linked to all of these cases. philadelphia police, the university of pennsylvania, and drexel police, have all stepped up patrols because of this string of attacks. reporting live outside every southwest detective, this morning, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> jan, we'll check back shortly, thank you. 5:33, traffic and weather together on the 3's. >> ukee, happy friday everybody. we're thankfully off to nice quiet start. it will be a little brisk outside today with a little hint after breeze by comparison to recent mornings, though, not quite as brutal of a wind. that said, we're seeing that wind because our nor'easter is

pulling away, high pressure taking its place, so sort of have the pressure gradient between areas of pressure, and that's really the only reason. but we zoom it way out. there is what's left of the nor'easter. notice it has left a lot of moisture. and at this point, any of the residual bands spinning back in, are way off to our north. so we're just done at this point with that storm system. we look at the temperatures as they stand right now, generally mid 30's, around most of the region, little warmer, little colder all depending on your location. again, there is still just enough after breeze to make it feel just as little bit colder. now we attempted to have some humor in our day plan they are morning, what is that big yellow thing in the sky at noon? we don't know, we haven't seen it in enough days. but, yes, there will be some sunshine out there today. we expect the daytime high to hit about 40 degrees or so. so still chilly and again still brisk. but, at least it is dry. am i right, vittoria? >> you are right. ♪ reunited and it feels ♪ >> well the good news, is that

with all of that sun it, will definitely perk up your mood, unfortunately, when the rush comes in, ya, i would say, maybe some sun glare to add onto your rush hour commute. but that's way off into the wings. as of right now, ben franklin bridge and the rest of the majors look great. as we take a look at the ben, no major delays in either direction, maybe you're headed in toward philadelphia, or maybe you're headed into new jersey, no problems. the ben is wide open for you, as well as all of the bridges, all of the bridges moving well, yesterday, we had speed restrictions because of the weather. so obviously they've been lifted still because of the wet their we did have, you may still have a slick spot here and there. so just be minds full of that. as we take a look at 202, no problems here, as women. really that is the theme. there are no problems, and no delays, no matter how you cut t on 76, you're at 55. same on 95, same on 476, the turnpike wide open. no delays in new jersey, no delays traveling in delaware. however, if you are traveling in north philadelphia, germantown avenue, still closed jefferson street, because of water main break that happened few days ago.
