his ex-wife. the first shooting happened around 3:30 monday morning, here in souderton. the montgomery county district attorney says stone killed his former sister-in-law, her husband, their 14 year old daughter, and seriously injured the couple's 17 year old son. then, the d.a. says, stone went to this home in lansdale, and fatally shot his former mother-in-law, and grandmother in law. finally, authority same, he showed up here in lower salford at the apartment of his ex-wife, 33 year old nicole stone. killed her, and took the couple's two daughters, a neighbor recalls the frightening scene to our steve patterson. >> i heard four gunshots, and i heard the kids screaming mommy, no, we want my mom. i opened my window and i asked him was everything okay, answer looked at me and just said she's hurt, she's hurt pretty bad, we got to go, we got to go. >> at approximately 5:00 in the morning shortly thereafter mr. stone delivered his two daughters to a neighbor in pennsburg. >> and coming up in our next

half hour, we will learn more about stone's military backgrounds. but police say he should be considered armed and dangerous, he may be using a cane, and he may bewaring fatigues. if you see him, you're urged to call 911. reporting live outside of the lower salford police headquarters, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> thank you, january. the lock-down now left in the doylestown bucks county where it is believed stone tried to carjack a man last night. >> "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now, with that part of our coverage. justin, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, erika, ukee, that shelter in place order was lifted about 11:30 last night, as residents now are still being asked to remain on guard, as this search for bradley stone now enters day two after a possible siting of stone here in doylestown at about 7:00 last night. that is when a man told doylestown police that he was approached by a man, matching stone's description, in the area of burpee road and shady tree treat road. he was walking his dog when he says he was met by a man matching stone at knife point. the man demanded his car keys,

the man says he refused, instead, pulling out his weapon, and opening fire at the man that he believes could be stone, and that man did get away in to the woods. now, meantime, over in pennsburg, where stone is believed to have lived, a swat crew was there, on the scene, waiting for hours to retrieve stone from his home. they found at least last night no sign of stone in that area, but the search for stone here in bucks count did i trigger several shelter in place warnings in this area, as well as evacuation orders, but there was no sign of stone found here last night. the search for stone called off at about 11:50 last night, just before midnight. again people here urged to remain calm and remain on guard as police continue to search for the suspected mass shooter. live in doylestown, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> justin, thank you. our coverage of this breaking story continues on line, including a time line of the events. you can get all of the latest development on cbsphilly.com. right now, coming up on 5:33, we know it is cold

outside. also expecting some rain today, katy? >> we r actually the wet weather comes courtesy after warmfront, so warmfront would typically bring in miler air. this one will be true to warm warmfront, allow us to moderate nicely on the thermometer t does mean any wet wet their does roll in will not produce anything other than rain. so we don't have to worry about any ice today. storm scan3 meanwhile already showing the signs of the clouds, moving on in here, and you can see the signs on the radar, too, that there is some wet weather headed our way. so i would say right around the lunch hour, guys, generally when you will start to find some of the first raindrops falling. it will all move in essentially west to east. meanwhile we've had poor visibility issues, what you're finding on the visibility map here, not looking that terrible. but i can even tell from my own experience, driving into work this morning, it came in patches. so, if you're going maybe out toward -- driving in through say fairmount park, or driving through the pinelands, you might find some of those little patches of fog. watch for t but today will feature through the community, evening, mainly rain showers,

we are expect to go see some of those pockets of steady rain embedded within that. there may be ponding on the roads for the evening drive. morning commute, a-okay, not again until the afternoon at least the lunch hour that we start to see the raindrops starting to fall here. meantime, because it is a warmfront, look at the temperatures, not bad. low 50's, and above average both in philadelphia, and down toward the shore points. jess, over to you. >> thank you, katie. good morning, yes, having pretty east he drive so far this morning, 5:34, we go outside, check out 95, and see how it is doing out there. and it is doing okay. starting to actually pick up little volume for relatively early start though this morning. but still, everything moving along great around girard, southbound lanes toward the city moving along great, same thing for the northbound side. you can see no brakes light going on over there. over on 309, at the pa turnpike, southbound and northbound lanes moving great. no a loft volume there, as well. over montgomery county main street, towamencin avenue accident pushed to the showed, downed tremont gemmery county closing morris road at lewis lane. alternate to get around that

morning, year long grand jury investigation finds two former coatesville school district employees stole money, meant to help children. former coatesville school superintendent, richard cuomo, and former athletic director, tom dinato surrendered to police yesterday. both men left the district last year after racist and sexist messages were reportedly found on their cell phones. the d.a. says, they stole from the poorest school district in chester county, for years. >> you had a superintendent, and an athletic director, who were running the school district like it was their own personal kingdom. mocking, and you had a school board that was asleep at the switch. >> both suspect are now out on bail. their attorneys declined to comment. >> a stunning announcement now from former sports cast or, don tollefson, what should have been his sentencing day. after pleading guilty, in september, to cheating charities out of more than $340,000, he asked a judge in bucks county to withdraw his

here's a look at today's headlines here on cbs-3, intense manhunt set to resume this morning for bradley william stone. police say he killed his ex-wife, and five of her relatives, in three montgomery county communities. the search is also forced cancellation of classes today in the upper perk school district. >> also the taliban has carried out an attack on military run school in northwest pakistan. gunmen stormed into that school and killed at least 84 people, most of those killed are reportedly student. and delaware county officials say a former police officer is a suspect in a shooting in glenolden. published reports quote investigators who say the officer killed a woman and wounded a teenage girl, before someone else in the home wounded him. right now, there is no word on motive. >> let's get your traffic and weather together. here's kate. >> i yes, ukee, we check in

with the eyewitness weather watcher, temperature read this is morning thus far actually colder than they were yesterday, because we actually had a chance to clear out the sky for you, get rid of some of the cloud cover, and that allowed the temperatures to drop off little more red limit so currently standing at 29 degrees, eileen murray sent this in, in the last few minute, and she's got some clouds out there, in gilbertsville. she said it is dry for now, don't let the impending rain dampen your holiday spirit. i love. that will very nice. i like t little further off to the southwest, 33 the temperature sent in from fran. out in nottingham, where he has some clouds, as well, and very light wind. so that, actually, hey @ loud areas of following to development pretty patch any nature, not particularly dense, but something to watch out for. over the last hour, temperatures in the 20's, ed, pretty clear sky, nice long walk with the dog, looks like this morning, under the crescent moon, no hint of rain just yet, but that will of course change as we go next to storm scan3, and we show you what's on the horizon here.

and it is a warmfront. so, it is actually going to live to up it name here. warmfront, warmer air, and right now, notice, there is nothing but plane old rain stretching anywhere from the great lakes all the way down into the virginias, as well. but that will eventually be what triggers the wet weather for us later on today. pretty well defined system here too. so you have got your core of your storm here, warmfront lifting in, cold front right on it heals, and those two things will move right through in the span of two days. warmfront today, cold front tomorrow, the warmfront is what actually ends up bringing us our best shot for wet weather. so here is the general expectation, it is looking like it starts to pick up from west to east, throughout the noon hour, and it will generally move into new jersey, through the course of the early afternoon. and it is all rain, we don't have to worry about any icy mix, mirk g this time around, there will, however, likely steadier pocket every rain embedded within this. so i would suggest the umbrella if you have plans to be out at all through the p.m. hours, good idea, but we should hit 50 degrees later today, hanukkah beginning at sunset, 4:37. and we can expect some showers around for that, as well.

drying things out though tomorrow. then the cold air finally catches up, with low 40's, just generally the theme for us right through saturday. by sunday, notice, rain and snow in the forecast. right now it looks like we're going to be on the northern edge of a mid-atlantic storm, and some of the models are brinking in concensus that any precipitation we see would be relatively light. still quite a ways off. we'll certainly let you know as things evolve there. jess, we send it over to you. >> thank you, katie. good morning, everybody, 5:44, good morning, for tuesday. we're out on the schuylkill expressway, things moving along great around the blue route, westbound lanes, moving along perfect, same for the eastbound side, as well, no problems there. currently no real problems out on 202, around route one. but you can see some reduced visibility here, and some fog covering the area. you can see route one, crossing over this way, 202, headed northbound, on the headlight side. but everything still moving great even with the reduced visibility. out in montgomery count a accident, bullet letter pike, and ridge pike. and a downed tree, out in

you'll also still want to bundle up walking out the door, because it is chilly initially. look at this, we warm up to 50 degrees later today, we can expect to see some rain showers picking up through the afternoon, and headed toward the evening, some of the rain showers also could have some steadier rain, embedded within that, meanwhile, come wednesday, again, still mild, but this does mark the arrival and passage of our next cold front, and we will see the temperatures drop back by thursday, jess, over to you. >> and thank you, katie. woe start things off out on the 42 freeway, just around creek road, where you can see some ongoing construction here, they actually just set up this on the southbound lanes, so headed toward the a.c. expressway where you'll see any back up, that's typically not where we see most of the volume with this time of morning. normally see it northbound lanes, see it gathering just little bit headed up toward 295 or philadelphia and the surround area bridges. speaking of area bridges, headed out to the ben from the jersey side, from the toll plaza headed westbound into the city all lanes are open and moving smoothly, o on into the city. stay there, cbs-3 "eyewitness news" will be right back.
