coverage. we will begin with "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter live in eagleville, montgomery county where the word came today that stone was dead. walt. >> reporter: command center that had been so busy throughout the morning with police, fbi agents, here at the emergency operations center have now gone totally quiet. that is because bradley stonies dead, found not far from his home of a self-inflicted knife wounds and about 1:30 this afternoon, right now the investigation continues, into that death. more details about the carnage he inflicted being revealed in this search warrant which was unsealed, also revealed by the district attorney had a press conference here, late this afternoon. >> this is just a horrific tragedy that our community has had to endure and as we are's all standing here today, i think we're really nu mb by what we have had to go through the past few days. >> reporter: district attorney risa furhman spoke of the carnage created by bradley

stone, shooting and slashing six family members to death and wounding a seventh. that victim, anthony flick, suffering horrific injuries, losing the tips of three finkers in an effort to save life the parents of his parents and sister. >> for me injuries that anthony suffered they were significant cutting injuries so it certainly appears they were defensive and he was fighting off his attacker. >> reporter: the district attorney confirmed that stone was involved in a custody fight over his two daughters who were not harmed but beyond that he says that he left no clear notes, information, or indication on why he would explode in such a terrible stream of violent acts. >> there is no excuse. >> there is no justification for snuffing out these six innocent lives, and then injuring another child. >> reporter: of all of the word in the search warrant

describing the the terrible violence, three stand out, a quote from one of the daughters of stone saying mommy, mommy, no. that daughter, her sister are safe new and they are being sheltered and fund set up to as a family devastated and community equally torn apart to move forward. live at the eagleville emergency operation center in montgomery county, i'm walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". our team three coverage continues with "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt and david joins us live from pennsburg where stone's body was found, david. >> reporter: the coroner van just left a few moments ago with stone's body, the scene is now cleared but neighbors on the community, they tell me they are very much on edge. bradley stone's body left in this van after swat teams spent two days looking for him. they found the former a marine in this wooded area near schoolhouse road in pennsburg.

>> relieved because i don't want to sees anybody else get hurt or get in a gunfight with these guys or anything. >> reporter: randy loose knew stone and he lives next door. >> he said he had some issues with his ex and the children were here for a while. then i guess, she took them. >> reporter: we were with loose when he found out stone's body was discovered in the woods not even a mile from where we stood. >> i just don't want anymore casualties. >> reporter: swat teams spent most of the day searching the neighborhood near stone's home. checking every corner, and opening up every door. >> i could see a few of the swat guys, and it take lon. >> reporter: brenda leonard lives across the street from where stone's body was found. she said the public can breathe easier and focus on the victims. cruises will perform an autopsy on stone's bod toy try to piece together all of the evidence, with you neighbors they say, they just want to focus on the victims, and their family.

especially during the holiday season. we are live from pennsburg, david spunt for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> david, thanks very much. court documents are providing a glimpse into bradley stone's life. our "eyewitness news" investigative reporter charlotte huffman has been digging through stone's past to learn more about who he was. >> reporter: most recent photo of the iraqi war veteran does not imply a troubled past but court records show a different picture. thinks record including ape handful of dui, first in 2001. two years later in 2003, stone was back in court pleading guilty to another dui. then last year, same story. stone pled guilty to a dui after crashing his car. with the marine core reserves, served about eight years until being discharged in 2011. his service includes 20 on will combat tour in iraq where he was injury. court documents also show as of last year stone was continuing treatment at the va medical center for ptsd and related conditions. and then, there is evidence of a financial struggle.

in january, stone was unable to pay 5,000 in court fines, and a physician, deemed him unemployment and totally disabled as a result of ptsd. it shows a custody battle with ex-wife and shooting victim leading up to the killing spree. at stake, the couple's five and eight year-old daughters. >> just last week he made an effort in court to secure custody, emergency custody of the children, and that was denied. >> reporter: on facebook yesterday this from stone, a man who doesn't fight for his kids is a sorrowful man. later married and now has an infant, most recently he is believed to have been living at this house, that swat teams stormed yesterday in pennsburg. welshing following stone's most recent dui he applied to a veterans treatment program, and just last year the county why accepted stone's application to that program, because he said, stone was genuine about his desire to get treatment and help

himself. charlotte huffman for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". charlotte, thank you. lets turn to "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson live in emmanuel lutheran church in souderton where a vigil is being held it in for a teenager who survive this killing spree, steve. >> reporter: jessica, that vigil is underway as we speak and already we're starting to see some of the friend and extended family, of 17 year-old anthony flick, the soul survivor of this killing spree that has decimated his family, and tonight we spoke to some of his friend who say they are trying to help and they are already making an impact. >> we are his family now, bay that is all he a has lefties us. >> reporter: eight friends, trying to overcome spector of six murders in would be family, hoping when they wake up, they will have semblance of hope. >> he is so lucky he survived. he had a guardian angel on his back and fact that he was in his house that long,

surviving, like that, is amazing. >> reporter: seventeen year-old anthony flick laid severely wounded for nine hours on monday after nearly being killed, early monday morning, police say that three bradley flick, murdering his mother patricia and his father aaron. anthony was trying to deeven if himself, three fingers lost in the brutal knife attack. his 14 year-old sister nina was murdered. anthony, now clinging to life, is the the soul survivor of a shooting spree that claimed the lives of practically his entire family. >> he is going to have a lot have of trauma but he needs to realize that we support him and we love him and we care for him and anything that we can, can and will do, we will. >> reporter: almost immediately the teens and young adults in this room started a funding page hoping money will help when he comes home. sarah is anthony's life long friend and middle school sweetheart. she says nina was like a sister. >> it was nike that nina still looked up to me as an older

"eyewitness news", we will have have continuing coverage of this breaking story, our coverage continues on line, for the very latest developments around the clock, check out cbs philly.com. and a former colwyn police officer is in custody tonight accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend to death and wounding her daughter at a glenn olden home. chopper three over the scene on the 600 block of glennfield avenue in glenn olden shortly after 9:00 last night. police say that the gunman is steven, and, the victim's husband, shot the man, abe then jumped out of the window and ran to a neighbor's home for help. well, a philadelphia why has ordered three suspects accused in the beating of a same sex couple to stand trial, on assault charges. police say that philip williams, kevin harrigan, and catherine knott attacked that couple in center city and one man was left with his jaw wired shut. during today's preliminary hearing, one of the victims did testify that the attack was unprovoked and that it started with cursing and gay slurs. but the defense contend that

there were words and punches thrown by both sides. and l.a. prosecutor say that bill cost bye will face no charges in a decades old molestation claim. the announcement was just made tonight. it is not clear which claim the prosecutor's office was investigating. also, this afternoon, cosby's daughter, spoke of her support for her father. in a statement to access hollywood evan cosby said bill cosby is quote the father you thought that you knew. well, they thought that they were getting money for nothing but it turns out it was all a trap, still to come here at 6:00 o'clock some greedy criminals alleged criminals are led right into police cud to the i and all caught on philadelphia. >> one that will get unique views of the city from high abortion kathy? we are track something rain on storm scan three. after the rain comes some cold and then a chance of snow this weekend, we will look at all of it with the seven day

police say eight people wanted for crimes walk right into their custody, thanks to a clever roos. officers sent the people fake letters telling them they had unclaim money, but when suspects arrived at the storefront addressed to collect, well, they were arrested. they were wanted for outstanding fines, theft, burglary, and some didn't even realize it was all a trick even a after those handcuffs went on. >> they were taken into custody, we were walking out and they asked a question, and check, and could they use that towards their bail in a very serious manner. >> out of the eight people, arrested five will pay off fines, two are out on bail, and one person is still behind bars. radnor township police won't be the last time they orchestrate this kind of operation. two more officials have been caught up if an undercover sting operation. seth williams unveiled indictment today against vanessa brown and ronald waters. williams says, that both of

these philadelphia democrats took bribes, and, brown allegedly accepting a total of $4,000, waters close to $9,000. >> both officials, personally appeared, before our grand jury. and fully, i repeat, fully admitted, that they neglectly, took illegal, cash payments. this is the same under cover operation, that snared the former traffic judge, who was sentenced earlier this month to two years in prison. the city of philadelphia wants to give visitors a whole new view of the city. mayor michael nutter and tourism officials have announced a creation of the new observation deck at one liberty place in center city. it is scheduled to open sometime in the summer of 2015. the project will be over seen by a paris firm men for managing observation decks all around the world. >> santa got an early start today, thanks to some help from the salvation army. the center in roxborough distributed toys with the help

of volunteers. they work with parents to pick out toys, clothing as well as stockings for their kids. holiday lights are shining bright in burlington, new jersey, mrsa family putting on this spectacular display there. "eyewitness news" on steeple chase boulevard, the families started this display five years ago, and they add to it every single year. in weather, we're talking about a mild night, but it is still wet out there. across the delaware valley, and temperatures in the 40's and even the 50's. lets start off in new jersey. moorestown, new jersey. the temperature is 47 degrees. aj saying not much wind, pressure falling and he sends us this beautiful picture, of your holiday lights, he says looking like christmas on chester avenue. an old fashion christmas indeed. lets take a look to the north, with a temperature of 50 degrees. brian says in levittown, 50 and comfortable, and here's his comment, warm night the

for december and i am not complaining. neither am i. if would you like to be an eyewitness weather watcher you can be featured and help us this winter. it is quiet for now but we think january and february will get busy around here. go to cbs philly.com/watchers to sign up. outside we are seeing areas of fog, throughout center city and our suburbs, but, still temperatures are mild, with a cloud cover. in philadelphia, it is 49 degrees. forty-four in allentown. and in the poconos, 37, which is pretty mild for this time of the year. it is 50 in wildwood. forty-nine in atlantic city and in millville. we will keep it mild for tonight, and, there is still some colder air to the west, to the south, we have some warm. we have a cold front, moving through, tonight and it is not bringing that cold air just yet, we have this one batch of rain moving through and a few additional showers, late tonight, that are possible, and we will be seeing things drying out as that front moves through, in the overnight hours. questioned breezy but still in the 50's and then a cold moves n daylight but it will be here

on thursday with mostly sunny skies, and some breezy conditions. by friday, the high settles in from the northwest, reenforcing that cool air, skies partly sunny but still talking about highs in the 40's. for this evening, a few more scattered showers, up to the tenth of inch of rain possible, areas of fog, southeasterly breeze and temperatures will be hanging out in the 40's. upper 40's this evening. then all eyes are going to be on this, a developing area of low pressure, hasn't even developed yet, we were looking ahead to friday, saturday will be moving up the eastern sea board. one of the computer models has it well to the south and off the coast, our european model is saying best chance of snow, will be saturday night to sunday morning, it will be light to the north and west, of philadelphia, and maybe a little snow in philly, and rain. the stormer weaker then it has been and we will get a new model run later tonight and overnight. we will continue to watch this, right now doesn't look like a major storm but it could bring a little white to the area sunday.

overnight, on showers, early, low temperatures will be in the 40's, tomorrow high 52. breezy, pleasant again, and happy on hon cars, cloudy and damp, and a few showers, and temperature of 48. on the exclusive seven day forecast we will look a head to those temperatures that will be cooling down and look at saturday, cloudy, sunday watching that developing storm, and for the exact track, monday 44, by tuesday, 46 degrees, with a mix of sun and clouds. so far the month is above average in temperature. >> very mild indeed. >> and cloudy. >> and cloudy all right, kathy, thanks. good evening, everyone. we have some major issues to get through in regards to rush hour, the schuylkill, i-95, vine street expressway, lets start with the vine for just a second. if you are traveling in the westbound direction, they are delayed, beyond broad street heading towards schuylkill. we have a flyers game tonight, that will be a big reason why we are seeing heavy delays here trying to make their way out to south philadelphia.

the eastbound side, on the vine street expressway, delayed the entire length, we have some sort of police activity here, coming from the parkway. heading from the a parkway on to the eastbound side of the schuylkill, you will notice delays a at that ramp. you will notice rush hour delays every where else. traveling on the schuylkill, are average is 8 miles an hour, 15 on i-95. delays around south philadelphia again, we have a flyers game, tonight and even in delaware county, two is your average traveling on the blue route, and big time delays on both sides of the pennsylvania turnpike if you are traveling throughout montgomery county. be mindful of. that also in new jersey, 295 southbound, in rancocas woods, we have a accident here, compromising lanes to the southbound rush hour delays on 295. traveling in new jersey, we have on going construction on 495, southbound, just beyond the area of route 13, ongoing, until noon tomorrow. definitely be mindful of. that if you are traveling mass transit, in delays, and things at the airport are looking just fine, so stay with us,
