two minors was found on some student's cell phones. it happened at the fdr middle will school. >> it is my understanding, that this video has been distributed among our students which shows minors engaged in activities that are in a prep eighth and in fact illegal. >> reporter: faculty members found video being passed around during a school concert. >> students had been viewing a video an hour choir concert tuesday night, so, students were very forthcoming and concern. >> reporter: letter was sent home to parents, wednesday, notifying them about the illegal activity. >> i don't think they are realizing, what damage it is doing, and then rather, you know, realizing the consequences. >> reporter: police confiscated several students cell phones, officials haven't confirmed if they are bristol township students nor will they say if the students in the video knew they were being recorded. there are laws against sharing sexually explicit material involving minors, even if minors are the ones sharing

restaurant own by two of his nephews on old bustleton avenue in northeast philadelphia. >> right new you there are so many unknowns and so much time passed that we are looking for any information at this point. >> reporter: his family worried, upset, gathered in veto's northeast home supporting one another during a trial time talking about a man they all loved. >> it is a matter of how were if you needed something they would do it for you. >> he has his car and he wanted to give it to you. that kind of a guy. lived for his grandchildren. >> reporter: their worry grew thursday morning with the discovery of veto's car, found burning nearly 9 miles away from the restaurant. only char remains new on the 5800 block of beachwood, veto, however was not found with the car. >> we were going through all of the scenarios of what could have happened and it is just really difficult. >> reporter: northeast detectives and special investigations unit have been working this case and asking for public's help, it is a plea echoed by those who know

told that no one was seriously hurt. a school bus crashed in new castle county delaware send one person to the the hospital, and, bus collided with an suv, just after 8:00 this morning. chopper three over middletown owe december a road and brick mill road in middletown. you can see damage to the hood of the suv there. it is unclear if any children were on board, no word yet on the condition of that person hurt. septa police want to you know there is a penalty for failing to pay. the septa police chief tweeted this embarrassing surveillance video of a man struggling to get past the turn style, at the broad street line's race/vine station. the the chief says after all that work we decided not to get on the train. police are still looking for him tonight. well, there is developing news right now, developing drama, in atlantic city, deal to save the trump taj mahal from closing on saturday has broken down. but late this have afternoon, a billion or investor pledged to keep the casino opened for

some breaking news, now, you're looking live at a fire burning right new in new york city. thinks at 97th street ape liberty avenue in queens. this fire has so far reached four alarms, fire fighters on the roof trying to attack the flames. right now no word on a cause or any injuries but we will continue to monitor this. cbs news has learned u.s. officials are linking north korea to the massive sign's tack to sony pictures. >> movie theaters across the country are taking down posters for the interview after sony canceled release of that controversial film last

night. the james franco seth rogan film centers around an assassination plot targeting leader of north korea but after threats surfaced about a 9/11 style attack showing that film many theater chains said they would not show it. boston marathon bombing suspect dzhokhar tsarnaev is back in court for first time since july of last year. tsarnaev's final pretrial hearing was today, and during that hearing a woman had to be escorted out of the courtroom. she apparently shouted words of encourage. to tsarnaev. the suspect and his older brother who was kill in the police pursuit are accused of bombing, and that killed three and injured hundreds of others along the marathon route. jury selection is set for january 5th. economic troubles in russia leads to these protests, the rugel is collapsing with the fall in oil prices and western

sanctions. that has led to some unrest. police detain at least 20 people gathered near the internet commerce center in moscow where president boot inn delivered a televised news conference. and we have a lot of problems out today to talk about specifically in new jersey, we will start things off, right here on vine street expressway where we have had an accident in the westbound lanes approaching broad street. the lights are bright here in the westbound lanes but you can see it is involving a trash truck and another vehicle just behind that but fortunately they are pushed over into the shoulder there blocking some of the left lane over. everyone is squeezing by with the eastbound lane dealing with typical delays heading toward ben franklin bridge. owe over on 202 around 29, complete stand still here almost headed southbound which is something we have grown used to for our afternoon commute. bunch of problems in 295 in new jersey, same side here 295 approaching center square road an accident just beyond that on 295 south pass enter square

for skiers, and snow borders alike. today a much colder day then yesterday, and, ski slope, and high of 41 degrees. 12 degrees, colder then it was yesterday. so we're getting into the season so to speak, getting to feel a lot more like the winter season. that is about to begin. right now in philadelphia, 39, 36 in allentown. thirty in the poconos. thirty-five in reading. cold pretty much every where. albany new york, 35. state college 30. pitberg 29. even in richmond temperature 41 and just a couple degrees off from philadelphia the cold is settling in, and it is going to stay. see clear skies through south jersey and delaware. we have had some sun, clearing in philadelphia, now we have a few more clouds moving through but we will clear it out on tomorrow. lots of sun for your friday, lots of sun for your saturday. temperatures in the 40's. that storm we are watching early in the week, exits off mid-atlantic so it stays dry and that is good news for the the weekend especially for

eagles game in washington. it will be dry there as well. fast forward to christmas eve where we will watch two areas of low pressure one from the great lakes bringing snow, another forming off mid-atlantic. this is inland, and pulling in all that warmer relatively warmer ocean water and we will stay wet, not white for christmas eve and then the storms converge over, new england, and becomes a big storm for northern new england and southeastern canada but as far as snow, central and western pennsylvania in new york and new england and it will be cold, but dry, for christmas day. so snow, central pennsylvania, western pennsylvania, and in the delaware valley it will be dry christmas day, rain christmas eve. offer night temperature 30 during the day tomorrow, going for a high of 42 degrees. seasonably chilly. eagles game of course outside washington d.c. we are looking at conditions that will be pleasant for fat ball, 38 degrees, a few clouds at kick off against the redskins, a very important game, watch it right here on cbs-3.

three day forecast calls for cold temperatures but it will be dry, some really good shopping weather. well, holiday lights are shining bright across the delaware valley and our meteorologist kate bilo is live in brookhaven delaware county, kate, it looks like another great holiday lights extravaganza. >> the kathy, it is a fantastic lights extravaganza here in brookhaven tonight, and feels more like late december should feel, as temperatures crop. we drove down with the mobile weather lab, i have it here, it is all lit up, that light is nothing compared to what i have behind me here. take a look, lets come meet homeowners here, veronica and roy cooper, and they are responsible for this amazing light display. do you both do it or one more than the other. >> we both do it. >> yeah. he does the tree though. >> i love the tree. it is huge. do you have any idea how tall

cbs-3 "eyewitness news". police in harrington, delaware say that this man stabbed his nephew, investigators say that todd fischer's 18 year-old nephew punched him during an argument yesterday and that fischer struck back with a knife. the neighbor, the nephew rather was stabbed once in the chest and hospitalized, and the 22-year old suspect remained jails and he has been unable to post bond. brooklyn man is facing charges tonight, authorities say that he tried to smuggle will a gun through security at jfk airport by hiding parts of hit in a play station conn sell in his carry on, some other pieces of the gun and accessories were stored in the box for a game called nick tunes attack of the toybotts featuring spongebob squarepants. that man was heading to mexico city. a church in southern callus mourning deaths of three parishioners killed by a suspect drunk driver as they left a christmas concert. this happened in the beach. fifty-six year-old marvin

like it as well, holiday lights in fully affect in brookhaven delaware county. we will look at the lights in a minute. for that we will check with our weather watchers here on the cbs-3 mobil weather lab. we can see all these reports coming in, yesterday numbers were in the upper 40's right now, most of them very close to freezing. lets start off in the western suburbs, starting off with john owe done until downingtown reporting 32 degrees with a mainly clear skies. he says still breezy but nice to see some sun today. that it was. lets check with another weather watcher down in new jersey where it is 34 degrees, thanks to alex brownski in mays landing. it is clear skies but chilly. the skies cleared, temperatures drop. he said sun was out for first time today, gusty westerly wind all day. more sunshine down the shore then what we saw in the city but everything cleared out in the afternoon. you can see that everything is looking quiet right now at least across the north east, everything looking dry. we have snow showers back a across west virginia, that is

santa arrived at camden's children garden on a fire truck. reindeer resting up for their big trip. mayor dana redd organize the teddy's toys for camden kids. families registered visited adventure aquarium where they did more than just wash the fish, 600 kids went home with a great gift. all day tomorrow here at cbs-3 toys for deserving children will be arriving all day as part of our 26th annual joy of sharing. >> salvation army will be here to accept your donations of new unwrapped toys, and as our pat ciarrocchi shows us the need this year is great but the gratitude is even greater. >> it was days before christmas and salvation army joy of sharing toy shop is opened for business. cookie monster, a among toys, galore. all going to children who deserve a little extra christmas. last year 24,000 children found gifts, thanks to the

photo spark outrage and tonight it had has a philadelphia paramedic apologizing and the fire department, responding. will philadelphia's fire commissioner held a news conference just moments ago. good evening, i'm jessica dean. i'm chris may. lets get to todd quinones live from northern liberties with the department's reaction. todd? >> reporter: chris, the fire department here is taking this matter seriously. right now they are looking into taking possibly disciplinary action against that paramedic. the the picture was posted to the paramedic's instagram accounts. here it is one more time. picture depicts a white police officer with two black men pointing guns at him. post then states, our real enemy, need to stop pointing guns at each other and the ones that is legally killing innocence. that, of course, as you can imagine upset people within the philadelphia police department and tonight the fire commissioner addressed the issue saying he has personally apologized to police commissioner charles ramsey and head of fop john
