"eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is live from spring garden tonight where fire department officials apologized today. todd? >> reporter: right now, chris, at this point it's not clear if this paramedic will face any kind of disciplinary action. but it is clear the fire commissioner is not happy about it. he contends the paramedic crossed the line. the picture posted to the paramedic's instagram account shows a white man posing as police officer while two black men have guns pointed at him. >> the post then states, our real enemy needs to stop pointing guns at each other and at the ones that legally killing innocents. that has people upset win the philadelphia police department and thursday night's fire commissioner derek saw we are says he personally apologized to police commissioner charles ramsay and the head of the fop john mcnesby. >> i thought it was disgusting. i thought it was disgusting. i think that we have great wor working relationship with the police in our city and we want to keep that and a lot of our

members have family members that are police officers also so it wasn't -- it was in poor taste. >> reporter: march medic work here at medic 23 in west philadelphia which show happens to share a building with the 19th police district. outrage over the posting reached city hall with michael nutter releasing a statement saying in the strongest possible terms, i condemn the behavior of a par med deck in the philadelphia fire department who used social media to post a reprehensible message and photo that targeted police officers particularly at a time of emotional volatility and citizen protests in our nation in the wake of tragedies in ferguson and new york city. the still picture posted is taken from music video called hands up by two brooklyn rappers. voicing their frustrations over the recent deaths of my michael brown and eric garner. joe shullly also issued a statement in support of police. saying "not only do we work together in the streets but i count many police officers as good friends as well as family".

that paramedic has since deleted that post on instagram and he also apologized on facebook saying that he deeply apologizes and that he did not mean to hurt his brothers in blue. reporting live tonight from spring garden, todd quinones cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> all right, todd, thanks. a knife wielding suspect got more than he bargained for trying to hold up a cvs in camden county. he ran into the wrong customers. off duty police officer and his son. it all happen at the cvs on black horse pike in runnemede. natasha brown picks up the story from there. >> reporter: when sergeant dan murray and his 18-year-old son darted into the cvs at ninth avenue and the black horse pike in runnemede on monday evening, it was to pick up a few personal items. little did the off duty know he would come up close and personal with a robbery suspect trying to make a get away. >> when i was at the counter checking out and getting ready to walk out the door, i observed a mail walking up the aisle with a mask on like halfway up his

face. >> reporter: suspect had just robbed a pharmacist at the back of the store at knife point toting at least $11,000 worth of oxycontin and percocet towards the skit. >> there was another customer runnemede chasing hill asking me to stop him. >> reporter: surveillance video captured the scuffle that came next. sergeant murray in plane clothes his son tackling the robber before he made it out the door. >> i started wrestling with him. my son jumped in and helped me and we detain the subject until the uniformed police officers arrived. >> he went just to being like a cop you can tell he knew exactly what he was doing. it was really something else, you know. he's saying i'm the hero. i'm proud of him. >> for sergeant murray it's what he's professionally trained to do on or off duty. his son's motive for helping to foil this robbery is much more personal. >> i wasn't even thinking about him stealing. i was thinking about him trying to harm my dad. to be honest with you.

i'm glad i stopped him from stealing but the main thing was to try to help my dad if we're always working. keeping our eyes open and when we have to get involved, we will. >> reporter: another brave customer inside the store also helped to take down the suss spec. now, 27-year-old matthew donahoe is facing robbery, aggravated assault and other related char charges. he's being held on $100,000 ba bail. in runnemede, new jersey, natasha brown cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> also, in runnemede tonight a man facing charges he's accused of stealing from the runnemede youth athletic association. police say john g. lew is a the treasurer of that organization stole more than $10,000. the alleged thefts began in august. >> reported sex tape leads police to a bucks county middle school. "eyewitness news" at franklin d. roosevelt middle school in bristol township. police say that a video showing students engaged in sex act circulated there. it was reportedly found on several students cell phones by

faculty members during a school concert. >> i think it's disgusting. i don't even know what to say about it. >> my daughter is 12. so it's a tough conversation to have any anything what they're going through. >> eyewitness toll police confiscated some cell phones. it's unclear if any students have been disciplined. we do know that no criminal charges have been filed. there's new information from the philadelphia police tonight. they've identified an 18-year-old student accused of bringing a gun into fels high school. juan, is charged with reckless endangerment and other crimes night. officials placed that northeast philadelphia school on lock down after the weapon was found in a trash can. officials want to know how that gun got past school metal detectors. >> we're looking at a cold start at the morning. meteorologist kathy orr is live outside on the cbs3 sky deck with what we can expect when we wake up. kathy? we still have a cold breeds out her, jessica. waiting for these winds to relax and skies to clear.

between u.s. and cuba could see a new jersey cop killer returned to prison. joanne, shot and killed a state trooper on the turnpike back in 1973. she was sent to prison in 1977 but she escaped two years later. then in 1984, she resurfaced in cuba where she was granted asylum. now new jersey authorities are urging the obama administration to bring her to justice. >> enormous amount of clarity to this case. it's not that we're seeking anybody for prosecution. it's not we're seeking a suspe suspect. we're seeking somebody who has committed the crime was convicted of that crime and was sentenced. >> the second trooper was wounded in that shooting. $2 million reward is out there for information that leads to her arrest. a pair of thieves caught and camera stealing a package from a home in rhawnhurst. this video shows a black car driving by just as that package

is delivered on tuscan street back on december 1st. after the delivery lee truck pulls away the car comes back, a man hops out, walks up to the porch and takes the package. if you know who that person is, you're asked to call philadelphia police. >> also, caught on camera, a man decides he doesn't want to pay his fair but getting away with it proved little harder than he expected. septa police chief tweeted this surveillance video. it shows that man struggling to buy pass the turn style at the broad street line's race 59 station. the chief says after all of that, he decided not to get on the train and police are still looking for him tonight. the taj mahal kasee casino n atlantic city will romaine open and not shut down on saturday. billionaire investor carl icon is providing an additional $20 million in financing to keep the casino operating as bankruptcy proceedings play out. this announcement came after a deal to save the taj mahal fella par. that would of cep the cass soon
