philadelphia police district. >> i was so worried about it. >> reporter: police say robberies started on november 15th, and has in the stopped. six of the incidents caught on camera. showing very similar crimes. two hooded masked men with guns drawn demanding cash in items. the the crooks have got's way from everything with 80 bucks and a pack of cigarettes to nearly $1,600. in one of the robberies the men stole a pair of guns, police fear that the robbers are getting more violence. >> in the beginning, they seemed more calm, more reserved, during these robberies. and as the the robberies have been going on, they are becoming more aggressive. >> reporter: captain frank banford says detectives are working to solve the case quickly. thursday night he says a store owner was pistol whipped and hospitalized. >> this can only get worse. it will not get better. >> reporter: so far there is very little of suspect descriptions or how many crooks are involved. owners we spoke to say whoever it is, stop, before more

"eyewitness news" was there at forty-seventh ape pine, you can see several units that suffered fire, smoke and water

damage but there were no reports of any injuries. it is not clear what caused the fire, the red cross is helping families who were displaced. well, president the obama is weighing in on the cyber attack against sony. before he left washington for hawaii, the president held his end of the year news conference. cbs news correspondent craig boswell was there. >> reporter: topping the end of the year q and a, north korea's sign's tack on sony pictures entertainment. president obama said he wished sony would have call him before pulling the film the interview. >> we cannot have a society in which some dictator someplace can start imposing censorship here in the united states. >> reporter: he promised a proportional response but didn't a announce the specifics. reporters grilled the president on his announcement earlier this week to reestablish diplomatic relations with cuba. >> but if you have done the same thing for 50 years and nothing has changed, you should try something different

breach back in october. staples is the the lateness a string of stores to be targeted by hackers, we have more for you on cbs-3 in philly.com. is there a seasonal chill in the eras we head in the weekend but will it stay dry? meteorologist kate bilo is tracking the forecast from the cbs-3 sky deck, kate. >> reporter: it is dry right now. not a cloud in the sky. a pretty lovely sunset happening behind me. the sun went down about a half an hour ago but still some great colors out there on a clear evening. temperatures will drop rapidly with these clear skies. the lets look at storm scan three, sweeping the area not finding anything at all. completely clear. no problems tonight. few more clouds will roll in through the day tomorrow but our next one to watch is going to be moving off the coast and joining forces, with the thunderstorm moving from the west as we head into next week as you can see across the northeast, things are very quiet at a the moment. i want to take to you temperatures right now and you can see how chilly it will get. we're seeing those numbers drop 34 in allentown.

well, a 19 year-old woman is facing charges in the death of a five-year old from upstate new york who is reported abductions sparked an amber alert. police now say that tiffany van allstein killed kenneth white, and then made up a story about a masked man abduct ago this boy. white's body was found across the street from the albany area home covered in snow. vanallstein was arraigned

today and charged with second degree murder. police have made an arrest in the murder of eight children in a home in australia. investigators say the killer is a woman found in the north queensland home suffering with stab wounds. police, say she is mother, and, mother of the seven of the kids and the the eighth was her niece. she's under guard at a hospital right now. police have not said how those children died but they are examining several knives that were found in the home as potential murder weapons. and, on this friday the week before christmas we knew we were going to have a busy commute, so far for this afternoon. so out in delaware county 95 at ridley park you can see a string of brake lights southbound towards the blue route. we're seeing most of. that delays in the northbound lanes doing a little bit better over on the schuylkill expressway around conshohocken. the eastbound lanes, just crawling into the city

while watching the long wood special. the such a great place to be long wood gardens and today felt like december should feel. it is cooler then it was earl willer in the week but lower 40's is right on target. sun came out this afternoon and turned out to be a nice day. lets take a look and see how evening is shaping up. we will go out to the poconos where you can see snow there on the slopes, cold enough to daze to make some new snow at jack frost big boulder, and, slopes looking ready for those holiday travelers, if you are heading up this weekend it looks like great conditions right now. it is dry as far as mother nature is concern. you can see snow coming down there from the snow machines but heading down the the shore, you can see last glimpse of that sunset, pretty nice sunset across the region tonight, still looking nice in atlantic city. looking at storm scan three shows nothing going on here in our neck of the woods at the moment. we have to zoom out and sees a storm developing in portions of the gulf of mexico. you can see rain over mississippi, lou san, that will exit off eastern seaboard. good news is high pressure will stay strong enough throughout the weekend and that system will stay to the
