we have winter starting at 66:03 p.m. we have 32 degrees, and that's the temperature in center city. this is also the temperature at the palmyra cove nature park in new jersey overlooking the delaware and looking at the lights in philadelphia. the one good thing about the last couple of days, the winds have been light. and that's certainly made it feel a lot more comfortable than could have. storm scan3, looking at the wide view, philadelphia covered with some clouds, some little bit of couple of flurries as you go out toward the center of the state. but otherwise it, looks like we've got quiet day on tap for us today. thirty-one out in allentown, 27 in reading, it is 32 out at the airport in philadelphia, and 26 in millville, 28 degrees in atlantic city. we've been dealing with temperatures like that, and with the slight amount of wind that we have it, feels several degrees colder than the actual air temperature. now, we do expect quiet weather as we go through the noon hour, about 39 degrees, by 3:00 p.m., partly sunny, 41, it will be warmer than it was yesterday, yesterday we

stopped at 35 chilly degrees, today we should be doing little bit better than, that and the computer model says we should be finding little sunshine moving on through the afternoon hours. we'll see. i'm pessimistic at this point. but we've got week coming up that gets mild and wet. we'll talk about that coming up. >> carol, thank you. breaking right now, crews are on the scene of multiple alarm fire at apartment complex in new castle county, delaware. it all started around 2:30 this morning, here on the 200 block of harvard drive in claymont. you can see the flames just spread through several floors before firefighters could get it under control. we're also told one person has been taken to the hospital. but no word yet on their condition. stay with "eyewitness news" as we continue to gather more information from the scene of that fire. philadelphia police re ponds to shoot nag local bar, and the officers themselves are met with gunfire. they say it started at the domestic dispute magee on's

club in the holmesburg neighborhood. one graded by bullet and expected to be okay. during the investigation another man armed with two guns walked up and shot a single round in the direction of the officers. >> the other guy coming here with police lights on, and lot of police cars at this location, and the male comes in there with two guns, one in his hand, and fires a shot, because obviously hit one of us or one of the witnesses. >> now, it is unclear why that second gunman opened fire. he was arrested without further incident. meanwhile, the first gunman who fired inside that bar is still on the loose. >> well, a day of sorrow for the new york city police department after two of their own are ambushed by gunman in brooklyn. that suspect then turned the gun on himself. cbs news correspondents win i gillette report. >> hundreds of new york city police officers saluted an ambulance, caring one of their fallen brothers, as it left a brooklyn hospital. police say a man identified as

>> what is a journey ... what goes on in this country ... >> now, earlier in the day, dozens of people including some students, also marked down city avenue echoing their message of social justice. >> well this weekend community in montgomery county is remembering the victims of last week's killing spree. prayers were said for nicole stone and five members of her family in harleysville. they were killed by nicole's ex-husband, bradley stone, at three locations in montgomery county monday. stone was found dead in the woods near his home in pennsburg on tuesday. the cause of his death is still under investigation. meanwhile, philadelphia police say they're investigating the death after suspected home intrude nerve wissinoming. it happened on the 6100 block of vandike street saturday morning. the homeowner says he and his nephew confronted the 23 year old man in the garage, and struggled with him during that struggle the suspect hit his head and died. the homeowner says the suspect

was in the garage trying to steel tools. >> philadelphia police are asking for the public's help to ida man hospitalized after a choking incident. that man was admitted to temple university hospital on december 12th. now, police say, he choke on some food, lost consciousness, and was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. he is not regained consciousness since. neither the police nor hospital staff has been able to identify him. so, please, if you recognize this man, seen on your screen here, please call police. that was quite a game, wasn't it, after falling to washington yesterday, the eagles chances for post-season is hanging on by a thread. eyewitness sports director beasley reese breaks down the disappointing lost. >> turnovers grounded the eagles again. they had a chance to put pressure on the cowboys in the race for the nfc eels. but it was desean jackson and rgiii making enough plays to beat the birds. here we go. game tide in the final two minute, eagles with the ball, mark sanchez through behind

honolulu saturday morning. they'll be there for about two weeks. it is an annual tradition for the family beginning before their time in the white house. there are no official events on the president's schedule. so, just a lot of time with his family. good times for us this time of year. carol, good morning to you. >> yes, plans for a loft people. we are maybe not such good weather, but with the family. we're looking at the ben franklin bridge. it is not bad. you know what, it is typical. it is cloudy out there. it is cold. it is the last day of fall. and then winter starts tonight. so it is the last portion of fall for this go around. we have other fall's ahead of us, certainly hopeful of that. let's take a look out in reading. we have 34 degrees, winds of nothing, and love that, because that will certainly make these temperatures feel just as they are, and not colder than that, which is often a problem around here. 32 degrees in philadelphia, out at the airport right now, we have 29 up in trenton, 27 degrees in wilmington, 31 degrees in allentown,

26 degrees down in millville. these temperatures are cold enough, we do not need any wind, make them feel even colder, and we really don't have that today. though i think with maybe a 4-mile per hour winds in some areas, it is enough to drop these temperature feelings little cooler than that. the air is very dry, i'm sure you've noticed that, and i think, and i have been looking for any grounds truth that shows that any of this is actually hitting the grounds t may just be evaporating as it comes on down, which is probably what's going on. and we are also looking at some clouds over philadelphia, maybe a spot or two, where it is clearing out little bit. but i think generally, if we just take the view that oh, it will probably be cloudy again today, why not, we'll be happier with the outcome. there may be some sun breaks. let's be pleasantly surprised by. that will winter begins today, 6:03 p.m. the shortest daylight is if it is not short enough, nine hours, 19 minutes, 57 seconds. the average high temperature this time of year is 43 degrees, and we will be right about there today. our temperatures with high

pressure here in the lower four's, and then tomorrow they're going to be in the lower four's, but, we do start to see the temperatures come up. how about the 50's by the time we get to tuesday? we could even be in the 60s, well, at 60 degrees by the time weep hit wednesday, christmas eve. we have warmfront coming through from a very strong low pressure system that's coming up from the gulf, goes right up to the great lakes, warmfront comes through first on wednesday, and so the air in advance that far is warm. then cold front comes through, and we cool down for christmas. but the weather is very changeable. this is not completely right. just as it wasn't completely right yesterday. it is starting not completely right today, as well. so that's why we take it with a grain of salt, or whatever tomb rick -- tumrick or seasoning of chills. temperatures fairly mild tomorrow morning. we get into the lower four's tomorrow, but the clouds will be there, and the clouds will increase as we go through the day on monday. we also get shower chances, coming late monday, again, on

tuesday, but i think the bill being of this system as it comes in here is going to be on that christmas eve time period. so showers around tuesday. wednesday heavy rain, wind. today, tomorrow, some pretty good days to get out there. now, christmas looks to be partly sunny, 48 degrees. but remember, we do expect to find that these christmas eve get away, heavy rain possible with winds gust to go 30 miles an hour, and still very gusty day coming up for us by the time we get to christmas day itself. so, expect to find temperatures today, philadelphia, shore, 42, poconos, 38, the winds remain light, tonight we find these temperatures dropping again. they drop down to 28 degrees. and over the next couple of days, the temperatures sky rocket. we could be in the lower 60s by wednesday, with that heavy rain and wind, thursday, christmas day, we cool down, then at this point it looks to be dry for friday, and saturday. nicole? >> all right, carol, thank you. on the health watch this morning, are you feeling a little bit under the weather? well it could be because flu

some shoppers approved, while others shook their heads. at the protesters chanting black lives matter saturday afternoon. we shot all of it off of our cell phones, as the crowds moved from spot to spot. the first die-in lasted four and a half minutes, the second, ten minutes, and the thirds, 15. they marched inbetween each one. >> that video is little shake year than usual, that's because mall security wouldn't let us bring our cameras inside. the king of prussia mall just the latest high profile location for a die-in protest like this one, just few weeks ago we saw after a philadelphia eagles game. saturday, about a thousand miles away, at the country's largest mall in minute society -- minnesota, hundreds gathered at the mall of america to protest what they called systemic police brutality. they were urged to leave and when they didn't, police in riot gear moved in, and forced the protesters out. all of it, mostly peaceful. for midwest shoppers,, to city avenue student, kids real how

4:39 p.m. today. tomorrow the sunsets at 4:40. so we turn the corner and we start to seymour brightening, at the ends of the day, and it is gradual, but cumulative. so by the time you get into january, we can actually do something about natural light. temperatures in the 40's today, lower 40's, 46 tomorrow. then we start to see the air warm up warmfront, temperatures get around 50 degrees on tuesday. this area of moisture comes in here, we pick up couple of shower chances, as well, by wednesday we can be 60 degrees plus. future weather, not totally buying into all of this like when the time of the clouds or if they leave, so i think generally expect mostly cloudy day with maybe some sun breaks, which would be great. monday generally we do start to cloud up. we pick up chances many solve showers later on in the day. this is tuesday morning. do we see few more showers

scattered around, we could be finding some of these showers on tuesday, whatever you see on tuesday, not going to be a big deal. compared to wednesday, when we could be finding an inch plus of rain coming in, and this time line does not go out far enough to get to that point. but you get the idea. that some of the wet weather starting to move in. that of course is christmas eve. temperatures, well, notice the green. the green's are the warmer masses of air, and they start to move in our direction. so, this is the 23rd, the colder air is through here, and notice by the time we get to christmas eve, we've got the green over us, meaning, we have temperatures that could be 60 degrees. and then we don't see that for long. we start to bring these temperatures back down into the 40's, and then by the time we get to the ends of the weekend, we could be finding the ends, start of next week, finding temperatures the high getting into the 30's. so, things change a little bit. if you have got plans, though, i think, in your travel plans, and you're flexible, today, tomorrow, clouds, sun, cool,
