two men standing outside. that is when they say one of those men pulled out a gun and pointed that to the officer. video shows people break nothing to stores there now. thinks happening just 2 miles from ferguson where another police shooting sparked weeks of protest across the country. and new this morning, three philadelphia police officers are hurt when their car collide in north philadelphia. "eyewitness news" at 22nd and montgomery, authorities say that the officers were responding to a report of shooting late last night when the two cruisers slammed into each other. one officer suffered a concussion but all three are expected to recover. also new this morning police are reviewing videos in hopes of identifying three men who pistol whipped, the shot and robbed a man in fernrock. the it happen just after 1:00 in the courtyard of the apartments at olney and ogontz. unidentified 44 year-old man was shot once in the abdomen and is in stable condition. suspects got away with $100

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us at accident investigation division with the description of the vehicle police are looking for, jan, good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning. the authorities have a good idea about the the vehicle they are searching for, police are still on the look out for a black tow truck with the missing headlight. it is evidence of a deadly hit and run in holmesberg a headlight smashed ripped from the black tow truck and left at the scene with the woman who was hit. linda alfonse was there as it unfolded right in front of her. >> i saw her walk up to the center line and then she was gone, and then her cell phone and purse hit my car. >> reporter: accident happened here in the 8100 block of state road in holmesberg around 5:15 tuesday evening. investigators say the three three-year old victim was in the in the crosswalk as she was hit and as tow truck,

>> good morning, everyone, traveling as of right now, doing any holiday traveling on the vine street expressway it will be a squeeze. lets take a look. approaching the eastbound ramp to the schuylkill that ramp has been closed as a result of an overturn tractor trailer accident. now with the weather that we have today it always is of a concernes specially for me as a traffic reporter because even the slight rain can cause the most serious incidents. if you are traveling on the westbound side of the vine and trying to get to the eastbound side of 76 our best alternate is to continue on the westbound side of the schuylkill and flip around at girard. you you can do some maneuvering at university city but that would be the easiest way to get around things. as we continue, speed sensors still looking great for all of our majors with the exception of the vine street expressway in the only in pennsylvania but new jersey and delaware. we have an accident on the turnpike at fort washington.

release that movie on demand. 6:13. lets get traffic and weather together, katie, good morning. >> this storm system is a big a affecting millions of people and i have to say considering what some neighbors have ours had to deal with this storm so far and what it still has yet to bring we are being dealt a glancing blow. severe weather devastating portions of the deep south with tornadoes rolling through killing several people and we will have a few more hours of the potential for severe weather here as you can see this squall line setting up. this is moisture that will be working its way through our area we won't have enough instability for severe weather necessarily but we will have a good shot to see thunderstorms embedded within the rain that will continue for us anytime here today. so lets take a look moving forward here future weather shows it well. there won't be too much of the break that i can guarantee you here, even by noon we are still dealing with pockets of the steady rain and toward evening although it may be scattered in nature no one is

westbound side of the vine approaching the parkway because of the the westbound side of the vine the ramp to eastbound 76, we have an overturned tractor trailer situation. it does seem to be that police as well as emergency teams need some movement, some wiggle room to assess this accident and get it under control. what we are looking at here is accident scene itself is. on the westbound side of the vine approaching eastbound schuylkill traffic held back before the parkway it looks to be right around broad street to not enter this area we will keep you updated on than that but you will notice a backup. i would advise to you avoid the vine entirely on the westbound side. if you are moving beyond that incident your best alternate would be to take 76 westbound and then flip around to the eastbound side at girard avenue but as of right now just avoid the vine if you can, heading to the airport justin on i-95. speed sensors are getting slow on the schuylkill in part but generally speaking vine is our biggest delay, nicole. >> vittoria, thank you. we are following breaking

news from the st. louis suburbs this morning. there are reports of looting after a large crowd gathered in the town of berkley where police officer shot and killed a man who allegedly pointed a gun at officers. berkley is 2 miles from ferguson where police, that police shooting triggered nationwide protests. one philadelphia police officer has a concussion and two others being evaluated after this accident involving two police cars. it happened near between the second and montgomery in north philadelphia, while those officers were responding to a call. a live look at philadelphia international airport, today's inclement weather forced some delays, check your flight status at cbs philly.com. stay on top have of it. we will be right back.

expressway is not going to be easy today. this has nothing to do with the eastbound side of the vine but everything to do with the westbound side of the vine. anyone trying to get to 76 this will cause a problem. here's what has happened. very serious accident on the westbound side of the vine approaching the eastbound 76 off ramp. actually on the off ramp is where accident occurred involving an overturn tractor trailer. many teams are on the scene and what they have done is block the roadway so you cannot even get, further west on 76, that is really beyond the parkway. myself and my pre dueser mike we were doing some thinking of alternate for you, best idea right new within to exit at broad, or a avoid the vine if you can but exit at broad and flip around on the vine to 95 itself. also keep in mind media elwyn line has been suspended they are having overhead wire problems, nicole and erika. >> vittoria, thank you. santa is not the only one with treats in his bag in south philadelphia termini

year old man at a gas station in st. louis suburb near ferguson, missouri sparking new protests. police say the officer was doing a routine check at that gas station when they net ised two men standing outside. police say one of of those men pulled out a gun and pointed it at that officer and that is when the officer shot him. other person ran away. a crowd of about 100 protesters gathered outside that gas station all happening just 2 miles from ferguson where another police shooting spark weeks of protests across the country. new this morning, three officers are lucky to be alive after this head on crash in north philadelphia. it happened late last night on 22nd and montgomery avenues. police say officers were responding to a reported shooting when their cruiser collided at the the intersection. impact sent one car flying on the sidewalk and into a fence. >> this action could have been a lot worse, both of the police vehicles sustain serious damage. seat belts and air bags did

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from the accident investigation division with the very latest, jan, good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning. police are still on the look out this morning for a black tow truck with a missing headlight. they believe this is the vehicle responsible for hit and run in holmesberg last evening and to make matters worse eyewitnesses say this driver didn't even slow down. take a look at this picture, a photo of the evidence found on the scene, police say that they are looking for a black tow truck with a headlight missing. police say this deadly hit and run happen at 5:15 on the 8100 block of state road in

to do with the accident we are dealing with the on the vine street expressway that has shut it the down, approaching schuylkill expressway. what you're looking at here is activity leading up on the westbound side of the vine to the eastbound ramp to the schuylkill expressway where they are dealing with an overturn tractor trailer situation. they have stopped traffic practically parkway so no one can continue further west on the vine street expressway. owe that means for you your best alternate right new within to exit at broad street and flip around to access vine to get to 95 or just avoid vine entirely. that would be a good idea as well. you could do maneuvering through university city, walnut street getting on a odd numbered street could do you well, but keep in mind traveling mass transit the media elwyn line suspendedded due to down wires. best alternate is to take 101 trolley, erika. some brighter news following tragedy in montgomery county, anthony flick, soul survivor of bradley stone's killing spree has been released from the

hospital. the 17 year-old suffered cutting wound during a predawn attacks on december 15th. authorities say that stone killed his ex-wife nicole and five members of the family. stone was found dead a day later in the wood aired use of pennsburg. newly released autopsy results conclude that stone committed suicide by overdosing on prescription drugs. now an exclusive i team investigation into that killing spree, investigative reporter charlotte huffman had been digging through court records. she reveals lack of oversight by the county that may have stopped last weeks killing. >> reporter: years before bradley stone went on a shooting rampage killing his ex-wife and five of her family members he legally purchased two handguns like these, a 9-millimeter and 40 caliber one used in last weeks killing spree but stone should not have had any guns in his possession, according to court records, obtain by the iteam he was on probation following a dui last year.

as part of his court ordered probation he signed this agreement saying he will not own use or possess any type of look alike firearm, lethal weapon, explosives or ammunition. the question becomes, why wasn't stone, stripped of his guns, as required by his probation. county law enforcement officers could have checked to see if any hand guns were transferred into his name but did they? we asked those questions to numerous county officials responsible for overseeing stone's probation, all of them decline to comment. >> researchers and director of penn's center on family violence doctor susan soreson say it is an honor system. >> having an honor system is naive. >> reporter: she points out unlike pennsylvania, a few states have procedures for getting a gun out of the hand of someone who already owns one but later becomes pro hinted from having one. >> some places have asked people to relinquish their weapons and provide evidence of that whether they have

vine approaching eastbound 76 ramp. westbound vine is currently closed as a result of the overturn tractor trailer accident on that ramp. emergency teams are on the scene, traffic is stopped basically is stopped in the westbound side of the vine approaching area of the parkway and notice that they are directing traffic off at the parkway. i would advise however maybe good idea to exit at broad street because good alternate would be to exit at broad and then flip around on the vine to access i-95. you can take martin luther king drive, kelly drive, maneuver around this, continue throughout university city by taking walnut street if you can by after the fact when you do get on the parkway. there are a few ways to move around it but still it will cause problems. would i advice avoiding the vine entirely if i can, if you can. media elwyn line is suspended due to down wires. your best option toys take route 101 trolley. speed sensors high up in the area. not dealing with too much of the rush hour delay that is
