out there. lots of optimism, lots of sunshine on the roads at least, but again things can change. full report coming up. erika? >> vittoria, thank you. developing right now suspect charged with raping and robbing a woman in a spring garden parking garage awaits arraignment this morning. >> our jan carabeo joins us now from outside the special victims unit with more on this vicious attack that has a community definitely on edge. jan, good morning. >> reporter: ukee, erika good morning, sources tell "eyewitness news" that they now have a 32 year old man from pittsburgh in custody for that sexual assault that happened on new years morning. but, police say they'll not officially identify this man until essay rained later on today. now, the alleged assault happened new years morning in broad daylight, here at this parking garage at 17th and callowhill streets in spring garden. for hours yesterday, police combed the scene for clues, and reviewed surveillance video. police say a manna tack and sexually assaulted a 33 year old woman at 11:00 a.m. on the second floor of the four story garage. the victim suffered multiple

injuries, and was taken to hahnemann hospital. now the garage primarily serves residents of the one franklin town apartments, but it is also open to the public. police say the suspect somehow evaded security there. a shock to those who regularly use the garage and say the garage is secure. >> i'm very surprised due to what happened. i know my building has 24 hour security both inside the building and in the parking garage. i know both of the rovers who walk up and down the aisles, two that my building hired. and i know that they do a really diligent job with making ensuring the safety of myself and the people that live in my apartment building. and monthly renters to this parking garage. >> now, this suspect will face rape robbery and attempted murder charges but police say they could still use your help. if you know anything about this sexual assault that happened in spring garden, on new years morning you're asked to give them a call. we're reporting live outside of the special victims unit. jan carabeo cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you.

coming up on 5:33, well, roller coaster headed our way this weekend? >> very true, when it comes to the pattern when it comes to the temperatures, and we will eventually end up with some spring like conditions. talking may-like conditions for one day of the forecast, just one day though, and then we're just getting dose of reality all over again. storm scan3, quiet. we've got high pressure still on your side here for yet another day. you can see still even little light lake enhanced snow around the edge of the hi, but far to the north even though we're still going to find few more clouds out there today already evident on storm scan, no weather-related issues, quiet, tranquil, seasonable day. 34 degrees current temperature at the airport in around the freezing mark in many of the outlying suburbs, little colder, little milder, quote unquote, as you head down toward some of the shore point. but here's how the day progresses in philadelphia. expecting that sun to mix in with few more clouds, more seasonable chill as we top off around 42 degrees, lan still be little bit after breeze. we got to talk about the weekend. that's when this pattern really starts to just shift completely. we go from such quiet weather

she is on a roll lately, well done. we actually had 2 inches of snow on the grounds new years day, back in that year. soap, yes, little trivia for you. we want to turn gears here to what's actually happening out there for this coming weekends, which is the first storm, of 2015. and it does have a possibility to at least bring little snow to our area, not to philadelphia, thaw, so here's what's going onment storm still getting its act together still, taking shape it, doesn't really have very well defined shape or organization just yet. but, it is on the move. we do still have little light lake effect snow, but more of westerly flow, so really see few more clouds. as this gathers strength you'll see a large sort of comma shape develop out of this. it is obviously not there yet. so we need about another 24 hours for the real shape of this storm to take effect. but, what are we looking at here? eventually, the rain starts to move in. but, depending on your location, when it starts to get here it, might still be cold enough that you have got little snow to track. so up in the poconos especially you may start off with some sort of wet heavy

>> few from overnight, a fire re kindles into a cleaners in west philadelphia. firefighters return to that 4,000 block every lancaster avenue to put out hot spots. just a few hours earlier firefighters had a difficult time battling flames in that boarded up business. still no word this morning on a cause. >> also this morning, fire damage in the two story garage in north philly overnight. it was contained to the structure along the 2900 block of north 21st street. no injuries reported. that will fire also remains under investigation this morning. good morning everyone, also developing, a man has been arrested and charged with brutal sexual assault after woman in spring garden. >> now, that suspect is behind bars awaiting arraignment.
