meteorologist kathy orr and more on what we could be in for this weekend, kathy. >> good evening, it is our first storm of the new year last year at this time we are talking about a snowstorm this year more like a rain storm for most of us outside it is quiet and cold that is going to change. take a look at what we expect. we have a winter weather advisory already posted for the poconos for some snow, some sleet and some freezing rain, wish i could say it was a all snow but not this time. in the advisory area carbon and monroe counties all day saturday in the evening for light accumulation of ice around a tenth of an inch. it will make travel tricky on those untreated roadways. you saw the storm right now gathering some strength and getting organized to the west of dallas and western parts of texas and slowly going to move toward us. so future weather tomorrow morning shows us some cloud, moisture getting close at 7:00 a a.m. mostly cloudy start between 9:00 and 11:00 we will see moisture

moving from the west. some snow and sleet to the south in dover you can see the rain. here is time line between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. tomorrow we will see rain moving from the west, mix with sleet freezing rain some snow to the north and west and some snow in the poconos to start. between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. steadier rain for philadelphia area, changes to all rain in the lehigh valley and northern and western suburbs by two poconos by four or five. after 7:00 scattered showers expected. so once again that winter weather advisory in effect for poconos and we will break down what to expect where you live and show you some much warmer temperatures before an arctic blast moves back in the delaware valley back in the realities of the season. for now we will send it back to you in the studio. >> kathy, thanks very much. stay a step ahead of the weather by down loading the the the weather app. it will give you latest forecast from our team and also real time radar. down load app on google play

"eyewitness news" has learned that lab tests on a patient being tested for measles have have come back negative. relevanter in the week path department of health issues a warning for a potential risk to residents in delaware and philadelphia counties who had been to the please touch museum and a pharmacy in wayne and a urgent care center in villanova but late today health officials told "eyewitness news" that the patient does not have measles. there is no danger. a man whom police say raped a woman in broad daylight is off the streets tonight. that suspect steven woodson faced a judge for the first time earlier today. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at the crime scene at 17th and californiae hill in spring garden with new details, justin. >> reporter: jessica, we know that victim is recovering she has been released from the hospital with bad wound to her face as for woodson he did face a why today, he is being held on in bail and neighbors here are happy to hear that.

>> i never worried about my wife going across the street at anytime getting in her car or out of her car until yesterday. >> reporter: when that three three-year old woman was a attacked in this parking garage on the 1700 block of callowhill street, it was a scare for this woman too. she parks at a nearby garage and makes sure guard are on the look out. >> i park where i can and they can see me get in my car. >> reporter: the the garage where the attack took place is public but mainly serves the high rise across the street one franklin town and those security seen there today he and his wife are still shaken. >> she was scared, you know, she was scar. she want mood he to walk her to the car, you know, rightfully so. >> reporter: now in jail three two-year old steven woodson accused of attempted murder, assault and rape of the three three-year old victim of the four story garage on new years morning. as victim stepped off a second level elevator police say woodson approached, demanding her money and cell phone before the the sexual assault. during the attack, she basically for the him off the

best that she could but however he was stronger, bigger. >> reporter: victim says her attacker knock her unconscious once and once she awoke she found she had been rape. she blacked out again after being choked. then came a couple searching for a place to park not realizing they pulled up to a crime. they didn't leave, they helped. >> it takes a lot of courage to actually put yourself out there and actually chase somebody, after you just witnessed a very horrifying act. >> those witnesses were key in this case, female witness stayed with the victim while male witness persued woodson up 17th street on the phone with police, briefing them on each turn, woodson was caught in the area of 17th and spring garden again that victim is recovering, and we have reached out to oft the company and building that runs this garage here, they have no comment for us, and they say at this time. we are live in spring garden, i'm justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you very much.

the 18 year-old driver whom police say hit and killed a fellow student on her way to school was charged with the crime. the the crash happened last month. while 16 year-old minute net zeka crossed the road at bridge water road and bensalem boulevard. david spunt has new information on the case. >> this memorial at bensalem boulevard and bridge water road is tribute to mannet zeka, the man responsible for her death is 18 year-old michael shelley, who didn't say anything as detectives walk him from police headquarters, to his arraignment across the street. zeka died while crossing the street to get on her school bus after 6:30 in the morning on december 17th. >> he is at fault. child is death because of him h no the because of a road, in the because of anything else. >> reporter: bensalem police public safety director fred harring says shelley was driving this ford broncho when he ignored the flashing lights and safety arm. his detective are investigating the possibility of distracted driving but harring would not get into

details. >> he went through that school bus, whatever the reason is, he went through and disobeyed the school bus directions. >> reporter: hearing before the judge friday afternoon lasted about ten minutes. shelley's attorney stan lacks did the talking for his client. >> he feels terrible about the whole situation and that is all i can say a at this point. >> reporter: after the hearing detectives brought a shackled shelley out of the courthouse and put him in the suv. he went to jail immediately. >> michael shelley is facing several charges tonight, two big once vehicular homicide and involuntary in manslaughter. he is behind bars on a half million-dollar one. reporting from bensalem, david spunt for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". police in berlin, new jersey need your help trying to track down the car that is in this video, that car was involved in a hit and run on christmas day on south franklin avenue. police say it is a white toyota avalon they expect to have some kind of damage to the front end and also a

missing hubcap. it was west philadelphia a busy, difficult night for fire fighters as they tried to put out a fire that started inside a boarded up business. first call came in around 2:00 this morning. fire broke out in the 4,000 block of lancaster avenue. authorities say that a few hours after that crews had had to return to the scene when the fire reignited and spread to a business next door. right now cause of that fire is not yet known. a shocking statement directed towards septa police eye witt the necessary news reporter steve paterson shows us why graffiti has officers on alert. >> reporter: in this bathroom stall in the frankford transportation center, you can see the remnant of a blue marker. >> it is not something that anybody would like to see. >> reporter: that something is this a message scrolled on the stall shoot septa cops. >> it is a tough time right now. there is negative sentiment. >> reporter: vandals spray painted cop lives don't matter on this fence in west

philadelphia. in this case thomas nestel says message was discovered by a passenger thursday night. he is concerned for a few reasons. unrest following high profile deaths in police involved incidents across the country septa attacks on officers and at this particular station in northeast philadelphia it is already high risk for his officers. >> we are concerned but we're not pan nick. >> reporter: chief says not panicking is a strategy, before this message what's raised he posted it on twitter saying quote looking for author of message. want to help with spelling of septa. appears there was confusion. beware: may need hug. we asked the chief if humor was right response to something so inflammatory. >> we are serious about our safety and safety of everybody every day. i try to use humor to reach out to folks, and not to be sounding an a alarm on every single thing that occurs.

surprise snowstorm in new hampshire is blame for a highway pile up that involved dozens of cars, it happened around 10:00 a along interstate 93 in ashland. drivers say that without warning they were caught in white out conditions, and many watched helplessly as one after another cars slammed into each other.

>> pretty scary. we saw a couple cars fly by us and, you know, we get cars hitting each other. >> we just decided it was best to jump out. you could see cars hitting each other one after another. >> reporter: a tractor trailer caught fire at one point and there were several injuries but those people are expected to be okay. tonight health officials are warning about more cases of hepatitis a in hamilton township, mercer county. two new cases have been reported since new years eve. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers has new details. >> reporter: new year and two new cases of hepatitis a in hamilton township. one case involve a 60 year-old woman who work here at this mercer county social services building. she worked as a part-time group fitness instructor at this gym in lawrence township and ham ill will ton ymca. >> we have an around the clock crew, that is cleaning the building. we did take precaution in the group exercise studio. >> reporter: jim constantine takes classes in the room where she thought.

he was not nerve bus getting the illness. >> the chances are, you know, pretty remote, you know, so i wasn't really concern. >> reporter: still he attended a public health briefing to learn more about it. officials explained hepatitis a is spread through a person's fecal matter. >> message has always been personal hygiene, wash your hand, no matter what you do. >> reporter: second case involves a five three-year old woman who works at this hair salon, both recovering, an investigation discovered they a ate at rosa's restaurant. in early december a food work there are in hamilton township tested positive for the infection. township responded by dulling out nearly 1,000 hepatitis a immunizations. it is not known if the women pick up virus from the restaurant but for others who ate there officials are preaching vigilance. >> we have faced these challenges before, and we have come through them by working together. >> reporter: public health officials say that the hepatitis a symptoms are nearly exactly the same as

phoenixville limerick 476, becoming northeast extension, through allentown, you will see wintry mix here, maybe some snow through lehigh valley to start and then changes over to rain. by two or 3:00 o'clock it is raining every where even through lehigh valley, beginning to change over in the poconos that will wait until the evening and then all rain through late saturday evening and into sunday morning. then we will slowly dry it out. here's what to expect with the icing up to a tenth of an inch of icing in the poconos. that is why you have the advisory and reading you could see 300 of an inch of icing there this weekend rain amounts up to an inch. brief mixing north and west, changing to all rain, southeasterly wind kick up in the afternoon and believe it or not by sunday we're talking about temperatures soaring in the 60's. here is a surge of warmth and after that a cold front moves through and temperatures crashed. we will see cold air that will rival the mid period of november when we saw our cold temperatures, this right there is probably going toned up
