all right. 5:15. some wild weather some winter weather all across the country, carol and we will have a storm system hadding our way as well. >> it is coming as well, nicole. look the at moon bridge, everything is fine. anything you need to do is okay to do. air mass is very dry but it will not stay that way and we will find precipitation that is out there, and heading in this direction actually making it to the ground. temperatures are cold in fact because of mostly clear skies overnight and very light wind, these temperatures dropped more they were supposed to. twenty-four in allentown. twenty-five reading. twenty-two lancaster. twenty in the poconos. of course, one of the reasons that is not good news is because we are watching this precipitation, coming in, so it will take longer for these temperatures to warm up and that is where we could be finding a longer period of time where is there a mix and or snow or sleet out there. especially areas to the north and west of philadelphia. with that said it is not totally out of the question
5:17 am
that even in philadelphia we will get that brief mix to start, and even maybe some points to the south a little bit. we're not talk about much in the way of amount. we know how easy it is to slip on one piece of ice. that is why we're watching this so carefully. some clouds are here now. this is precipitation not making it to the ground in any location. there is more to the south. this will be coming up and as it does so, every time, some of this will go over the air it moistens the atmosphere just below it and then it does make it to the ground. that is what we will continue to watch for progression of that. winter weather advisory in effect and not in philadelphia but it is in the poconos between noon and 10:00 o'clock and out to the lehigh valley and points west between 9:00 and 6:00p in m today and that is for slippery travel with some sleet and maybe even pockets of freezing rain through the poconos. a couple of other locations. future weather had has this pegged right with nothing happening right now but by the time we hit 9:00 o'clock this
5:18 am
morning, still clouds but this is starting to come into the picture and we will stop this occasionally. by noon we are looking at rain areas to the south, we are getting some of that snow to the north. we are also where we're looking at pink color where we could be finding that mix in there. through philadelphia at 1:00 o'clock do we see rain showers and at time heavier bursts of rain is possible. 6:00 o'clock we are still looking at this as we push that colder air out of here and everybody starts to transition over to the rain. heavy rain as we head through this evening and then overnight we will get some rain, we will get some breaks in other locations. by sunday we will have a lull in some spots some temperatures we will not believe will be in the lower 60's tomorrow. so we will get some rain at the shore areas. we will get another batch of the cold front coming through tomorrow night and then it is out of here and these temperatures start to plumet. so if you are traveling around to the i80 sleet freezing rain rain watch for those areas to the north. i-95 if you see a mix will be
5:19 am
brief and changing over to mainly rain. pretty quickly by the the time you get to the noon time hour. pennsylvania turnpike a brief mix and then changing over to rain in that location. snowfall amounts not impressive, .4 of an inch through poconos maybe .3 of an inch through the lehigh valley. that should be the extent of it a as far as rainfall goes, that is a little bit more impressive. some of these models have various solutions for it but half inch to an inch generally i think you'll probably be pretty right. as far as the timing on all of this and the poconos. the the snow does change to rain, tonight the lehigh valley, snow mix changes over to rain as well philadelphia, new jersey delaware it is a chilly rain as temperatures do in the change at all today from this 42-degree temperature. get used to it through tonight because we have that same level with that chilly rain so obviously your jackets is on and pets inside for this cold rain today. tomorrow, it is a warm rain.
