cbs-3 snow. accused pennsylvania state troop are killer eric frein is ordered held for trial at a preliminary hearing today and those in the the courtroom got a a look at on chilling surveillance video. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt has traveled to pike county for us and he joins us with the very latest on the case now david? >> reporter: chris eric frein is back behind bars here in pike county right now the judge decided there is enough evidence for him to stand trial. we don't know exactly when that will be, but the the prosecutor is seeking the death penalty. a shackled eric frein said nothing as state police troopers escorted him out of the pike county courthouse late monday afternoon. he followed the late corporal brian dickson's widow and members of dickson's family. inside state troopers and the county coroner took the stand all recounted where they were september 12th when police shot to of their own killing dickson and injuring trooper alex douglass.

in court the prosecution played surveillance video from inside the blooming grove barracks. on camera troopers pulled corporal dickson's body back in the building. alex douglass dragged himself across the lobby floor moments after he was shot. he is still least covering at home. >> it is a long road to recovery. he has surgery ahead of him but very upbeat and hopes one day to be able to return to work with the state police. >> reporter: later in the morning u.s. mar hall shall john shaw talked about the day's arrested frein. he said he put cuffs on frein, near an abandoned a air hanger october 30th. inside. frein was toast i can looking at evidence presented and asking an occasional questions to his team of attorneys. his lead attorney is michael winestein. >> he expected exactly what he heard. so, i didn't see any change in his key meaner. >> reporter: trooper douglass was not in court today. michael weinstein whom you just say there frein's

tomorrow, and then trial will begin. tollefson, a recovering drug and alcohol addict has spend most of last year under house arrest in treatment programs in north philadelphia. well, it has been nearly two years since the boston marathon bombing, and today the trial for one of the accused bombers began. cbs news correspondent marley hall is covering the case, from boston. >> reporter: security is tight, outside of the federal courthouse in boston where jury selection is underway, in the trial of boston marathon bombing suspect dzhokhar tsarnaev. inside the 21 year-old sat with his lawyers as they began the process of picking jurors from a pool of 1200 people. the jury will deciding whether tsarnaev carried out the deadly 2013 bombings with his brother, and if so, whether he should be put to death. >> i believe in the death penalty if somebody is 100 percent found guilty. >> i don't believe in the death penalty personally, but i don't think he should see the light of day again. >> reporter: prosecutors say that the brothers plan ataxias pay back for u.s. actions in

and also it is much colder there. temperatures are only in the inning will numbers. this is moving very quickry toward us through the midwest. it will be in philadelphia early tomorrow morning. and look at these watches and warnings, all the way across the northern part of the country, from places like des moines, through indianapolis, pittsburgh washington and philadelphia we are under a winter weather advisory but where you see the pink through the midwest they are winter storm warnings in effect for higher accumulations. as far as we are concerned, we are watching this clipper system that will move through chicago tonight and then swiftly move through the delaware valley this morning. it is mainly a morning event through the morning commute and through about the noon time hour. we're talking about a start between 6:00 a a.m. and 8:00 a.m. when snow arrives. it will stick right away but temperatures will be so cold. temperatures will be light, fluffy powdery snow because of the cold temperatures, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. steady snow up to 2 inches. after 10:00 a.m. we will see scattered snow showers. that is just about it. a as far as detailed accumulations, well we'll between one and 2 inches of snow.

some clouds starting to build in off to the west and that is hurling the arrival of this clipper system that we're watching as we head into tomorrow. we are seeing lake effect bans up across new york state, and the rest of the northeast is quiet for now. it thinks blob of snow it is not really well organized. clipper generally fast moving storm, moisture starved. it does not have a lot of moisture to draw from and they move quickly. moving through iowa right now streak nothing to illinois. it will move through indiana overnight and eventually getting here by tomorrow morning. temperatures right now 32 at the airport. twenty-seven in allentown. thirty in trenton. average high is 40. we got to 58 for the high outside yesterday but those numbers are steadily dropping. they have been dropping through the day and they will continue to drop through the the rest of the week. it feels about 10 degrees colder then thermometer would have you believe right now, feels like 22 at the airport. feels like five in mount pocono. fourteen in allentown. the here's where real cold is, look at these feels like temperatures over central canada and northern plains right now it feels like 39

below zero. twenty-six belows in canada 21 belows in winnipeg. feels like 15 below in minneapolis, right now. it will not feel quite that chilly for us but early thursday morning some spots, may feel sub zero, even in our area that is coldest time. here's that storm moving through overnight off to the west. it intensifies a little bit more off to the south tomorrow morning but by 7:00 a.m. light snow moving in. here's 9:00 a.m. light snow over spreading the region. by noon hour notice how it falls apart and starts to move on out. so worst of it is tuesday morning, light snow, but it that is light fluffy snow that likes to pile up quickly. up to 2 inches is possible. reduced visibility slow and slick travel and that snow tapers afternoon time hour and then we open up flood gates. watch how this cold air settles in you see that pink shading taking over especially as we head into thursday. thursday forecasted high 22 degrees, that would be the coldest day since january 29th of last year, when it was around 21 degrees.

won't amount to much but as they say timing is everything. meteorologist kathy orr is tracking the the snow live on the cbs-3 sky deck, kathy. >> that is the problem jessica, the timing of this we have a winter weather advisory in effect. not for the amount of snow but, the timing of the snow for morning commute. you know during rush hour an inch or two of snow can cause big headaches. on storm scan three you have showed us there is the snow, it doesn't look like a lot but we have watches and warnings posted across the u.s. for this. it is an alberta clipper originate nothing alberta canada it moves so fast. winter weather advisory go into effect for southeastern pennsylvania, south jersey and the entire state of delaware. when we're talking about an advisory we have a light accumulation of snow. temperatures in the the 20's and 30's out to the north and west, look at these numbers ten in cleveland. three in chicago. that cold is coming. that is why it is a light fluffy snow. our computer models showing between half inch and almost 2 inches of snow and
