e. we have live team three coverage of the dangerous cold and we will start with meteorologist kate bilo tracking even colder temperatures kate? that is right, jessica and chris. if you thought today was cold you will in the like tomorrow and really overnight hours, that is going to be the the worst of it. temperatures dropping right now since the sun has gone down and it is only going to get colder and colder and the wind unfortunately will stay strong as well. lets look at is what happening on storm scan three. we have mentioned a snow squall went through are in is town earlier today. those snow squals have died down. the arctic front has passed through or moving through at the moment, still can see a really distinct line there of lake effect snow squals over western pennsylvania and into central pennsylvania. for us here in philadelphia everything is quiet for now. cannot rule out flurries here and there but that is all we will see as we go through the overnight hours. we are under a wind chill advisory. entire eastern half of the country is under a wind chill advisory that initial to effect later tonight and continues early tomorrow morning. an indication that we can see wind chills as low as 20 below

zero especially in the poconos. right now it is only 3 degrees. we have dropped down in the teens here in philadelphia. nineteen right now. eighteen in atlantic city and 21 degrees in wildwood. again, it is feeling worse thanks to the very strong wind. wind are sustained in the 15 to 20 miles per hour range still with gusts over 30 miles per hour. so, late tonight early tomorrow morning, that is when you will want to stay inside as much as possible, wear as many layers as possible and keep those kids and pets out of the cold if you can. the lets look at how things are shaping up outside and meteorologist justin drabick is in franklin square braving the cold, hi justin have you seen a lot of folks out there tonight. >> not many people out here, kate. few people walking their dog and dressed like eskimos, why not, good place to be inside where temperatures are in the teens now and we're still getting wind gusting to near 30 miles an hour in the city. franklin square just desserted, right now normally it is a happening place this time of the night with everyone coming home from

justin. >> reporter: yes, an e-mail went out earlier telling staffers they would not be paid for the in of december. today should have been their payday but workers say their pay, benefits are now up in the air and they came out here this afternoon in this cold as a last resort for answers. nobody has given us any clue. >> answers as to why these 80 former staff of the now closed walter pal inner leadership learning charter have in the been paid. he stood in the cold hoping to hear something from front office staffers inside. ashley work for seven years in the school's community outreach office. he said workers were never paid for the the month of december. >> i have been here seven years and they have never wavered on a paycheck. >> reporter: in october letters went out with the word pay dates were changing. by last in month another letter saying workers wishing to cash their checks could only do so at one td bank branch. >> i was scared about being embarrassed at td bank that this check was not going to be

good. >> reporter: before the rally a group of former palmer employees came together, commiserating about being stretched thin over the holidays and belt tightening or perhaps worse to come. >> my kid didn't have the christmas that we normally have. it was a struggle trying to explain to them what was going on and the reasons why. >> folks are facing mortgage foreclosures, folks are forced to have to move out of their homes that they were rent nothing, folks have car notes, folks have children that they have to provide for. >> reporter: we did reach out to staffers here at pal inner and we got no response partly because their phones are disconnect. that makes it tough. staffers say to get their unemployment verified because there is no one there to pick up the phone or answer it. they also tell us their benefits have already been canceled for their health and we did reach out to doctor palmer for comment. he said he will do whatever it takes to get his staffers paid. we are live from northern liberties, justin finch for

cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> justin, thanks very much. former philadelphia school principal lowell a marie davis o'rourke is latest to, face criminal charges in connection to cheating on standardized tests. she was the principal at lock elementary school in west philadelphia now pennsylvania attorney general cat line kane says a grand jury had has found that davis o'rourke directed students to change wrong answers to right ones and to rewrite essay answers. a total of eight educators have been charged in that ongoing probe. as "eyewitness news" first reported a familiar face in montgomery county is looking to return to his former job as top prosecutor. today bruce castor announced he will run for district attorney. that news comes a day after risa vetri furhman announced she would not seek a third term in november. castor, a republican served as d.a. from 2,000 through 2008 and is currently a county commissioner. >> i love being a lawyer. i really enjoyed being

last night thanks to wayne simmonds, first they ended their five game losing streak and they ended a string of ten consecutive games without a shoot-out win. they won the game two-one in the shoot-out against the senators. flyers back at practice but with some bad news, goalie steve mason had to leave practice to get an mri. his jurist believed to have happened in last nights game. as for the win captain claude giroux said they need to keep the momentum going. >> yeah, it is a big win for us. we have been struggling getting some wins. i think we have been playing the the right way playing as a team, and the results are not there obviously but we're confident in our game and for us to get that win last night we played as a team and mason played great for us. we have confidence out of this and we have to just keep playing. evan mathis will join the five eagles already on the pro bowl roster. he was add todd day in place of local product jerry evans who has an injury.
