big deal right now but keep in mind, we've had a stretch. very cold weather. yesterday temperatures got slightly above freezing for most of us, but the grounds is cold especially untreated surfaces bridges overpasses, tree branches are cold. so when the rain starts to fall even though jen lip light it will freeze on contact than can cause icing and hazardous traveling conditions. this first batch moving through now creating icing. notice a break in the action, starting to fill in, could see break or lull through the early morning hours in some spots. that will would be good news allowing temperatures to perhaps get back above freezing before a second round of steadier rain comes in through the afternoon, but his is large scale system impacting much of the region, winter weather advisories posted for much of the area, in philadelphia, that goes until around 10:00 a.m., up through the northern part of montgomery and chester and bucks counties it, goes until 1:00 p.m., also for the lehigh valley and the poconos, winter weather advisory until five this evening. the poconos the worse of it,

snow ice rain, to up quarter inch of ice perhaps in the poconos, mugging with the snow sleet and freeze freezing rain ice to rain and north and west suburbs i expect the transportation light rain in philadelphia, little later head into the northern suburbs, but by later in the afternoon this will be plane rain, then just mainly coal rain for the shore point and into portion every delaware although this could start as a little bit of freezing rain even off to the south. so what to expect in the city, morning rain, mixing with little sleet but freezing on contact, you have got some warmer air moving in in the middle of the atmosphere but the temperature at the surface still right around freezing, that means that trace of ice is possible this afternoon or even late morning transition to plane old rain, the rain will end in the evening may even mix with a few pellets of sleet or few snowflakes as we go through the afternoon and evening hours. so today again that morning icy mix then we see period every rain in the afternoon. in the temperatures getting into the upper 30's, but seeing temps right now only right around freezing. temperatures very marginal
