5:04 am
of your mind, if it looks wet this morning, there is really good shot it is in fact ice. let's take you outside first and for most, we go out to storm scan3 my bad we take you out to campbell's field camera. where you can tell there are at least still little -- there are a few clouds still left over here, but skies gradually beginning to clear out, thin out we end one more surround shine throughout the day. along with that comes this northwesterly breeze actually more northerly than anything, so cold breeze regardless, and it is going to mean that despite full sunshine, do you have bundle up adequately. up towards north central pennsylvania, skies clearing out, high pressure will regain control. looking at the area temperatures, even though technically above freezing at some of the spots you're close enough that you don't want to chance it, make sure that you're smart, just slow things down out there. because again it could be a little slick. forty-two our temperature right now in raleigh definitely miler off to the south. we expect to stay somewhat steady with the temperatures here at home though, and again the chilly breeze is here, but the sun is back. jess, over to you.
5:05 am
>> thank you katie. good morning everybody just little after 5:00 this morning, and doing much better than we were yesterday around this time. so that's at least to be thankful for. head outside to the vine street expressway, where you can see things moving along right around 24th street. headlight headed westbound on into the schuylkill expressway. no problems in the eastbound lanes headed toward 95. now, over on the roosevelt boulevard right around fox street, everything moving along great there. northbound, no problems. no problems all lanes open in the southbound lanes there as well. now, out in mt. laurel, new jersey overturned fuel tanker actually has cleared out of the way. that was on 295 southbound just past route 73. but there is still some clean up crew, in the northbound lanes, on the opposite side. so we can at least be thankful it is cleared out of the wayment dealing with some clean up and residual delay there. now, overturned tractor trailer in east nottingham, route 272 closed between route one and route 222. take conowingo road for the time being. flashing lights on south street just coming offer the schuylkill expressway

smoke, and will review incident protocols. >> all right coming up on 5:13, our traffic and weather togetherment katie, good morning. >> good morning, erika. hey shall everybody, this is going to ends up being much brighter quieter day for us, by comparison, but there are sort of those after-meat issues that tend to follow you here, in the wake of systems and that's what we will find out there today. but that said, this is pretty quiet pattern. just enough to keep it interesting. you snow otherwise, it is very tranquil sort of smooth sailing type of forecast for us, as high pressure basically regains control. and hangs on for awhile. but you can see the retreat. clouds more than anything show the story. yesterday, though, we saw a turn over, started off maybe little icy snowy then turned over, to rain. so if there was any salt on the roadways it got washed away, that means it, could still be slick out there this morning, because temperatures are still marginal with freezing we're looking at here obviously the future wind speeds, and that also is going to get you you know
5:14 am
washings straight up northerly breeze coming right out of canada in the wake of the system, it will make it feel colder than the thermometer reads. not talking major winds, it is enough that it is like right on the cusp of windy and breezy, fine line, you know, so right there but it does make it feel little colder than the thermometer reads. that's definately true this morning, where it is feeling more like the 20's, or the teens or even single digits up in the poconos this morning as opposed to what it actually reads on the thermometer generally close to freezing, that's about where we level off here today. so whether you are little high or little lower than that number right now that's where we sort of level off through the course of the day 20 degrees later on tonight under partly cloudy sky just an asterisk next to tomorrow. storm developing to the south. we do think it is generally going to steer clear, but i got to throw in at least chance for maybe flurry, or maybe even little bit of icing down toward the shore point. and then we're just free, clear here, thursday right through the weekends, not only nice little warm up but some sunshine every single day. jess over to you. >> thank you katie. yes, good thing this morning that we're actually dry at

today is definitely much quieter day compared to yesterday. still the aftermath issues, however, of perhaps maybe some lingering black ice out there just generally slick travel, because of the rain, sort of refreezing overthrew the course of the overnight. temperatures are pretty marginal with freezing all day today. that will could be problem any time today let alone the morning. but things have really start today calm down across basically the eastern half of the united states, and that said, we look at the temperature outlook. down the road, looking to be nice little january thawing toward the end of the month. notice the time frame here talking about the week of january 19th, through the 25th. so, wrapping up, what is typically our coldest month of the year, with trend that appears to be milder. certainly we start to see that take place hereby this weekend. check it out. forty-two by saturday, not shabby sunday if you like the mild air 47 degrees the expected high at this point overall, this is a quiet
