"eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us on the scene with the details, nicole, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, ukee and erika. it took fire fighters about 20 minutes or so to get this fire under control unfortunately it was just too late for an elderly woman living inside. you can see still an active scene here. fire officials say they arrived here to the fire scene on providence road shortly before 3:00 o'clock. in addition to finding heavy smoke, some fire in the front of the home crews also found that woman deceased in the front porch area. now in continuing their search they found heavy smoke also on the second and third floor and damage to that rooftop you see

there. fortunately we're told no one else was found inside that home so we are looking at one fire fatality. now deputy chief michael spoke to us earlier this morning and tells thaws freezing temperatures made for a difficult job for these volunteer fire fighters as water was freezing just ad soon as it hit the ground. >> we have encountered a lot of ice, and crews are walking briskly on the ice. we were able to get salt down right away but we're waiting for the major salt trucks to get here to help us out. >> reporter: as for the cause of this fire that is still being investigated. you can see crew is still on the scene trying to figure out what exactly went down here on providence road. that is latest live from yeadon delaware county nicole brewer cbs-3 "eyewitness news". all right, thank you. happening today a catholic

road and pineville. your best alternate here toys take pineville. in major delays for mass transit. things at the the airport are just fine. ukee. >> thanks so much, vittoria. police are in bucks county searching for a burglary suspect followed by a brief car pursuit that ended up in a crash. >> lets get to "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao with the very latest information. good morning. >> reporter: erika and ukee, good morning. a very busy morning for bensalem police department as well as others in this area. this police pursuit ended in a crash and then a foot chase. at this point we're told one of those suspects has been apprehendedded by police the the other one is still on the loose. look at this video. this is suspect's car up ended in the ditch a at the intersection of state road in tennis avenue in bensalem. this started around 1:30 this morning as a burglary call. there was a short police pursuit that ended here. once the two suspects crashed

their car authorities say they ran into the woods. there was a large police presence earlier in the morning. the authorities called in the k-9 units and heat eking equipment in this search. again one of the two suspects has been caught by police but again that second suspect is still at large. the scene is near the grand view apartments and police were checking out that area as well this morning. the car has now been towed away from the scene and the scene is cleared. now it is still unclear the details about this pursuit, namely, where burglary call originated but it does appear they were after electronics. one of the devices was seen spotted coming out of the vehicle. we will have much more throughout the morning and we are expecting an update from bensalem police later this morning as well. we are coming live from the bensalem police department jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". police are looking for gunman who shot and killed a woman in broad daylight. she was waiting for the septa bus in north philadelphia a shooting happened at 12th and jefferson.

all right. lets get traffic and weather together and check with katie good morning. >> good morning. storm system quickly developing off to the south is what we had anticipated since yesterday but now we have something to see on the radar and it is just close enough that we have got to talk bit. the lets take a look out there as we look off to the south. that is where brunt of your moisture is falling. this will be a system that brings us outer band through

our area but specifically the southern portion of our area. as we take a look here as delaware valley as a whole is a systems where we just basically mean that we have to talk about the region in sections. the further north you go more likely you will sees sun here today but heading south philadelphia perhaps a flurry down in through cape may, kent sussex counties in delaware. we have got winter weather advisories posted. your best shot to see any a accumulation. by 6:00 a.m. some brunt of the heavier moisture will just clip through very quickly. as we head in the early afternoon that is basically it. we will have a few left over scattered showers of rain sleet, snow and then we will start to clear out. how much does it leave behind? not a lot. only a coating to an inch. we can deal with that. the it is a huge nuisance for anybody traveling from say toms river into dover and points south, however, that is all we will have to deal with. you will not be shoveling anything away here. i look forward to seeing our

delays. traveling east and westbound 422 around trooper and anywhere even out toward royersford you are in the clear at least so far. it is not even 5:15. we don't see that rush form until 6:00, 6:15. taking a look at the the roosevelt boulevard in problems here at well. it doesn't matter if you are heading toward 76 or moving in the schuylkill. maybe in bucks county, roosevelt boulevard, route one all moving extremely well. however, if you are traveling in montgomery county we have a water main break at susquehanna and limekiln pike. some water is causing some icy conditions. police are directing traffic in that area be mindful of that if you can. we have a fire location on east providence road between landsdowne and lycomb bailey road is your best alternate. crews battling a blaze. they have extinguish it and continuing to work on getting it under control but you will notice active in that area. we are following breaking news earlier this morning one person is dead after a house fire on providence road in

yeadon delaware county. fire fighters found heavy flames on the first floor when they arrived around 2:45 but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. police are searching for burglary suspect who got away after a police chase ended with this crash in bensalem bucks county. one of the suspects was arrested. police don't believe a deadly shooting in the north philadelphia bus stop was a random killing. fifty-six year-old kim jones was killed standing at 12th and jefferson yesterday afternoon. investigators say cameras from nearby businesses could help them id her killer. >> it took guts. we neededded to be bold. but what are the results? murder is down 51 percent in what was once called the most dangerous city in america. >> new jersey governor chris christie talking about camden's turnaround during his state of the state address. that turnaround is drawing national attention. police officers walking the the beat are part of community policing the the mantra of

those days that splits the delaware val any two when it comes to the weather pattern. we have a system to the south just clipping us with our northern edge. further north you will not have anything to deal with. we will start here on storm scan three with the snapshot of what is currently taking place. i just check a field camera in rehoboth beach delaware starting to see some stuff hit the ground here and it the is just a wintry mix. with all of the different colors just based on the temperature profile. it shows the system isn't all that huge. it has moisture to work with here between washington d.c. and norfolk area. southern branch of the del marva peninsula is what will get clipped here. winter weather advisories are posted now and lasting until 1:00 today for cape may, kent and sussex counties and points to the south of that. if you are traveling down toward d.c. for example on i-95 you will be driving into this system but out of here by later evening. in the city of philadelphia with that said because we are further north we are looking

at just a flurry out of this. even up toward lehigh valley and poconos you will get in on some sunshine. but traveling south you could run into slick travel. not a major system but enough to slow you down. by tomorrow and friday temperatures are on a uphill climb but we will tack on a couple additional degrees with every passing day as high pressure regains control thursday, friday and upcoming weekend. so again back to the here and now 32 degrees is our high. cloud out there for most of you but if you are traveling down again through southern new jersey, central and southern delaware, that is where you'll be finding some of those travel issues. 32 degrees is the expected high in philadelphia torey, over to you. you know, with any weather like that any sort of precipitation you will never take it the lightly because even lightes drizzling or flurry can, cause delays and incidents on the majors. the just take it easy out there and pre seed with your majors within the neighborhood with a little bit of extra caution.

we are continuing to follow breaking news this morning where a fire in delaware county left an elderly woman dead. it happened in her home in the 1800 block of providence road. >> "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer picks up the store friday that scene nicole. ukee and erika if you take a look behind me you can see crews are not here on the scene of this fire on providence road in yeadon, delaware county. they have just cleared the scene. the restoration people are here on site but you cane what is left of this fire that took about 20 minutes to get under control. unfortunately there was one fire fatality an elder liz woman did not manage to get out of that home. she was found deceased in the front porch area of that home. fortunately three other elderly relatives inside at the time of the fire did make it out okay. we're told there were workin
