intensifying their search as a killer remains on the loose. "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter is live outside police headquarters with developments in the up investigation, walt? >> reporter: well, jessica those who knew and loved kim jones tell me that with her love of church, family and children that they were not the least bit surprised in the final moments of her life, she was wearing headphones listening to gospel music as they waited for a bus near her home, moments later a a killer struck execution style, ambushing her and shooting her to death and now detective hope video from around that scene showing the killer will lead to an arrest. seen on video walking to a bus stop near her home police say kim jones had no idea that this killer was heading toward her about to take her life in a deadly ambush. >> he is a heartless predator in that kind of a fashion, walk up to her when she has headphones on listening to gospel music she never sees

or hears him coming and he shoots the her in the back of the head. >> reporter: earlier police say the video shows the killer hide ago cross the street from her home for an hour before the attack. the killer then calmy walking away boarding a northbound subway train and exiting at hunting park station where the trail end. police say the fact that the killer never shows his face, even lowering his head near camera indicates a carefully planned hit. >> it is just incredible that something, you know this insane could happen to such a good person. >> reporter: jones, who spent her entire career working with children, was a dedicated parishioner of the church of the advocate, helping launch an after school meal program for boys and girls. the killer, taking away the life of a woman, whose first priority was improving the lives of others. >> kim had the idea that she could be instrumental in changing the world and kimberly was, she changed

lives in a tremendous way. >> reporter: pastor spent the day, with the jones family making plans finalizing a funeral which is expect to be at her beloved church of the advocate, for now, police hope that you will provide information that will help catch this killer and the motive in this terrible crime remains a complete mystery. live from police headquarters, i'm walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> walt, thanks very much. developing news tonight police are looking for a 14 year old wanted in the stabbing of another 14 year-old in west philadelphia violence happened this afternoon at forty-sixth and market. police say that the two argued and then argument that began during lunch at west philadelphia high school and then it spilled in the after school hours and then turned violent. >> after school these kids apparently all know each other in the area riding their bikes continued to have an argument over whatever the the fight was earlier and one of the three males pulls a knife from

his pocket and that 14 year-old was stabbed one time in the chest. >> philadelphia police are working with west philadelphia high school to try to find that young man the victim is in critical condition tonight. also developing tonight a victory for penn state. the university is getting back more than 100 football wins that were taken away in the wake of the jerry sandusky scandal. "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is following developments from the cbs-3 sat center, todd. >> reporter: penn state supporters tonight are claiming victory proposed settlement announce today end all remaining sanction as begins the university and reinstates wins for the late joe paterno. the agreement means 112 victories will be restored to the football program making joe paterno once again the winningest coach in major college football were 409 wins. repeal of the decrease follows ncaa decision last year to reinstate football scholarships and allow penn state to play in bowl games earlier then original penalty.

restrictions were put in place in the wake of the jerry sandusky child sex a abuse scandal that rocked the the university. settlement stems from the lawsuit filed by a state senator state treasurer. they claim ncaa didn't have right to punish joe paterno and penn state shouldn't have agreed. >> hoping today we will begin to make right damage that has been done. today is a victory for due process. it was not afforded in this case. today is a victory for people of pennsylvania today is a victory for penn state nation. >> reporter: new deal directs a 60 million-dollar fine to address child abuse, be spent within pennsylvania that the paterno family released a statement this have afternoon which a says in part that the repeal of the consent decree and the return of the wins to the university and joe paterno confirm that the ncaa and board of trustees acted prematurely and irresponsiblessably in the unprecedented sanctions that the ncaa imposed on the

just a couple hours ago. three of the injured were in the car, the others were inside what company calls a light rail vehicle. the the extent of those injuries is unknown tonight. we know services have been suspended between cinnaminson and riverside, new jersey while the investigation continues. tonight, the the temple university campus is in mourning after a student falls from a window to her death in center city. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at temple and spoke to students who knew her, justin. >> reporter: jessica, those who knew rebecca kim are shock by her sudden death and at this time police say there are no signs of foul play. >> i just heard about it this morning. i heard her name. i said i have known her a long time. >> reporter: that name rebecca kim but newman has always known her as becca. >> in seventh grade we were in the same home rooinek room and in high school we had classes together. >> reporter: 26 been friend ever since graduating wissohickon high school last

year and at temple university, they were side by side again. from their johnson hall dorm to their chemistry class. kim was studying prepharmacy. >> when i saw her in class we did work together and all that kind of stuff. >> i cane her having a really good future. she seemed like a smart girl. overall nice person. so sad to hear that happened to her. >> reporter: on thursday night police say kim fell eight floors from an art institute of philadelphia dorm room window. authorities say that she was there visiting friend, two males who were inside. police have questioned them. kim dropped on to the busy center city sidewalk below along 1600 block of chestnut where she felon top of a 44 year-old woman walking. the force cause that had woman's neck and back injuries and knock out a few of her teeth. she was taken to hahnemann hospital and expect to recover. police also did get a cell phone from kim's body at jefferson hospital where she did die. they say that is an indication that perhaps she was using that phone to take a photo

before she fell but that remains under investigation. back on campus there are counselors on hand to counsel students through their grief. we are live, i'm justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". justin, thank you. we have just learned a woman accused of mistreating her special need child has turned herself into upper darby police. police say kareema tolbert locked her son out of the house in freezing temperatures. tolbert is scheduled to be arraigned tonight on charges of recklessly endangering another person . a school bus was one of three vehicles involve in the crash in southwest philadelphia that sent two adults to the hospital. their conditions are not being released. we know it happened just before 9:00 at 68th and chester, the the suv and minivan sustained significant damage. there were no children on board that bus. top officials in montgomery county are honored for their leadership and support in human trafficking, education and enforcement. montgomery county d.a. risa vetri furhman received an award in upper merion today.

the region and is there a nationwide campaign to get more students to see the film, in philadelphia, in fact african-american business leaders are covering the cost of ticket for thousands of school age kids. >> david spunt has more to ensure this part of the history is never forgotten. >> enough is enough. >> reporter: out just one week movie selma is making a name for itself. it is a story of a historic civil rights march led by doctor martin luther king, junior as a part for fight for equality. business leaders say they want students to see the film for free. >> until they see it on film that is a a whole other ballgame for them. >> reporter: andre moore is senior vice-president the at citizens bank and will joan hundreds of seventh, eighth, ninth graders from private and public philadelphia schools at pearl theater near temple campus saturday afternoon for the free showing. >> i really want to look and see on the the faces of what kid feel. you know what they are getting from this.

>> reporter: moore and other business leaders spent last week raising private donations to give students complimentary look into history. moore says group raised $44,000 so far, enough to send 4400 students to see the film. idea began with new york business lead hours took their campaign to social media hash tag selma for students is growing in popularity by the hour. philadelphia leaders got involved last week. >> the movie is so timeless with all that is happening in the world and i think it will do a lot to lift kid and give them hope. >> reporter: moore is teaming up with mayor michael nutter and the city for saturday showing. while selma is nominated for best picture there has been criticism over the fact that the lead actor and director were not nominated for academy award. moore says that does not matter, the the movie itself will make a difference. >> hopefully this movie will make people think differently on why we have the right to vote. >> reporter: fund raising will continue through martin luther

king your day. david spunt for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". after the loss of their child to brain cancer a family begins an initiative aimed at bringing happiness to other sick children. the students at bala cynwyd middle school pack donated art bags in honor of the memory of their classmate lucy perkins an eighth grade shore died in september. the family calls the group lucy bell's rainbow. >> it is an initiative to bring art and art therapy support to kid undergoing cancer treatment at chop where lucy was treated. i meant a lot to her. >> reporter: with the cooperation of her brother's school pen win elementary they are well on their way to reaching their goal of providing art supplies to the 1,000 children currently receiving chemotherapy at children hospital of philadelphia. we have some breaking news right now police in upper darby are looking for a suspect whom they say opened fire on officer there. this happened at about 20 minutes after 5:00 o'clock

snow in carbon county. slopes looking very prime for skiers and snow borders this weekend. there may be snow mixing in the poconos on sunday but doesn't look like a big snow event for most of us. it looks like a rain maker. in the city we will look at our rooftop camera and you can see we are clear right now. everything lit up but no rain or snow to talk about at the moment. looking at storm scan three you can see us sweeping the the area we are not seeing anything at all what steven was referring to was this batch of snow showers. they came through earlier tonight, generally north of philadelphia, they have some fizzle. not the a big deal. rest of the region is quiet but that cold air is filtering back in from the north and west. so temperatures already dropping. poconos it is in the teens. we are seeing 29 in allentown. thirty-two in reading. thirty-nine in philadelphia as that front works its way through, temps will drop through overnight hours. it feels colder then thermometer is indicating, feeling like zero in mount pocono.
