the black power response to established greek sororities, he was in college during the civil rights movement. >> fifty plus years since selma, we're still fighting for justice for freedom, for equality. >> reporter: half century later marilyn says that the country is a lot better but recent struggles make it clear that the fight must continue. today she says that it has to start from within. >> we need to build up our kid. we're constantly complaining about what is going on in our schools but as parents we need to start at home. >> reporter: advice for creating positive change from a woman who was there to see it happen. in center city, steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". students at university of pennsylvania gathered on campus echoing social message justice changes. they were put together sold and in defense of black buddies. they marched calling for an

end to police brutality and increase in the minimum wage and equal funding for schools they joined the largest march in center city. >> and the self less rather than selfish. thousands gathered at girard college, one of the biggest service sites the in the country, working on project to bet per the the community. organizers say it is important for today's young people to understand the legacy of doctor king. >> doctor king says anyone can do great. >> it is making a difference now and it is good we may as well give them back to the community one day every year. >> they decorated voting booths marking the 50th anniversary that doctor king for the so hard for. >> rowan university hosted its 29th annual martin luther king scholarship breakfast. proceed will go toward scholarships for students struggling financially.

the land. i said what are you doing here. >> well, my dog, pooped and i'm burning poop. >> reporter: joseph's walk over to make sure she cleaned up the mess and when water hit the flames, they saw what was really burning. >> my wife, she screamed. it is a baby dave it is a baby. that is when all hell break loose. >> reporter: joseph restrained dorvilier until police arrived. infant had been doused in a flammable substance and pronounced dead at the hospital. dorvilier is on jail on murder charges. her family won't talk and neighbors say they don't know her. joseph thinks how the baby's future could have been different. >> and, teaching these kid in school what to do. >> reporter: in new jersey moth hers don't want or feel they can take care of their new born babies have a right to drop them off, at any hospital emergency rooms or nearby police stations, and not face any criminal consequences, it is called the safe haven infant protection act. >> take the child to the

dover 39. even millville sitting at 39. during the day tomorrow we will be seeing those wind diminish and sunshine on the increase and temperatures comfortable in the 40's with high pressure to the south but that will give way to approaching area have of low pressure, a clipper, fast moving low pressure system originate nothing canada not a lot of moisture, we will type dive down to the the south. there are signs that this could be redeveloping off the coast, enhancing the moisture but i think it may be too late for philadelphia possibly bringing some heavier snow through new england. as far as what to expect we expect a quiet day during the day on tuesday, but by wednesday morning, no issues. by the noon time hour, seeing some snow potential in the lehigh valley and poconos and berks county and lancaster county and rain through delaware county. after the lunch hour looking for snow to spread in and you can see there will be a fine line that pinkies a little bit of the mix between the snow to the north and some rain the two south. during the evening rush we will be seeing some snow maybe sleet and rain to the south and then moves through
