♪ >> from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia this is cbs3 "eyewitness news". a semi loses control on an icy new jersey turnpike barely missing cars in its path it's all caught on camera. this as more wintry weather heads our way but in a different form. good evening i'm chris may. >> i'm natasha brown. jessica is off tonight.

we are tracking snow actually. when and how much will we be getting let's find out. meteorologist kathy orr is live on the cbs3 sky deck with what we can expect. hey, kathy. >> natasha, it's the calm before the clipper. looking at a partly cloudy sky on the sky deck. temperatures falling through the 30s. take look at the numbers out her right now. in philadelphia it's warmed am little bit to 41 degrees. it's 37 in allentown. 28 in the poconos. and more cold through the great lakes and northern plains chicago 34 minneapolis 33 and that is where our next system is coming from. doesn't look like much in the northern plains right now over the dakotas. but that is the beginning of a clipper system. a fast-moving area of low pressure that will redevelop off the coast and bring some snow, a mix and even some rain especially down the shore and through southern delaware. now we are expecting a light accumulation and this will be moving in on wednesday. wednesday morning, the clouds thicken late in the day towards the evening the snow moves in

though, has just been given. also breaking right now. chopper three over willow grove park. the scene of a smash and grab rob before he. the this happened inside the mall at precision watches. abington police tell us they're searching for two suspects right now. it's unclear how much merchandise the thieves actually got away with. a trip p.m. shooting in strawberry mansion neighborhood to it into many one person was kill at north 31st street in montgomery avenue. man in his 20's was pronounced dead at the scene. a 51-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman are hospitalized in critical condition. so far there have been no arrests just yet. a broken water main is wreaking havoc in delaware county. chopper three over township line road and edmonds avenue in haverford just after 8:00 p.m. one lane is getting by in each direction. as water continues to pour from that broken pipe. it's unclear how many customers are actually affected. and new tonight remembering a 14-year-old killed in a stabbing near west philadelphia

high school. the community came together for a somber vigil. "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones was there. he joins us live tonight from police headquarters. todd? >> reporter: natasha a 16 year old boy has been arrested in connection to the murder and it appears an argument led to the stabbing. 14 year old o'neal was riding his bike and friday when he was stabbed in the chest. eddie spearing was riding his bike with o'neal. >> all i know he said bro he just stabbed me. and he said, bro look. he just fell, hit his head and passed out. >> at a vigil monday night at 46 and market family and friends shed tears and shared hugs as they remembered the teen who loved riding his bicycle. >> i miss my nephew so much. >> police say o'neal was stabbed here by 16 year old male on friday. he was around 3:30 in the afternoon just after school. there are indications the stabbing may have been over an argument between teens that got heated and the 16 year old pulled out knife.

o'neal's aunt calls this a senseless murder and says anger and rage ruined two lives. >> stop fighting and learn how to forgive each other. because it's senseless. he didn't have to die. somebody else son didn't have to die. >> reporter: at this point police here have not released the identity of the 16 year old boy who was arrested because of his age. and it's not clear if he will be tried as an add dull. reporting live tonight from police headquarters in center city todd quinones cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> terrible loss. todd, thank you very much. vehicle suspected in a hit-and-run crashes into a home. this is in pottstown. officials say a red toyota camry traveled for about a mile at a high rate of speed before hitting this house in the 400 block of hanover street. you can see a curtain swaying in the breeze of what's left of that window. police were called to the scene just afternoon today. there are no reports of any injuries.

well bucks county woman is facing charges tonight she's accused of of chasing a 10-year-old with a knife. this is 33 year old virginia bushman. police say that all this happened at a home in warminster but that they were only tipped off about it by mcdonald elementary school. employees say that the child is a relative of bushman's. she is behind bars tonight. well thousands took to the streets of philadelphia to honor the legacy of dr. martin luther king, jr. many turning this day of service into a dave action as calls for change and remembrance of a civil rights movement rang out. >> ♪ >> from up lifting songs to chants a spirited march throughout the streets of philadelphia honoring an civil rights leader dr. martin luther king, jr. >> today is icing on the cake. a start of a movement it's not the end of one. >> start of this march began at school district headquarters.

annapolis that caught fire around 3:00 hit this morning. the cause of the fire is not yet known. the extent of the damage has made it difficult to search for potential victims. on a flight home from the philippines pope francis told reporters that he'll visit washington and new york in addition to philadelphia when he travels to the us for the world meeting of families in september. there is speculation the pope may visit a children's hospital or a detention facility while he's here but that has not been confirm. >> someone you know is planning that get married this same weekend as the world meeting of families you might want to reconsider. over a million people are expected to travel to see pope francis right here in the city of brotherly love which means hotel rooms will be scarce. planners at chem ton's hotel mono company advised couples not to choose the last weekend in september. probably a good idea. worshipers in new jersey organized a day of events highlighting the contributions of dr. martin luther king, jr.

"eyewitness news" reporter david spunt tells it was annie meg al end to a day spent honoring a civil rights icon. >> dr. king was top of mind for almost 200 south jersey yann who's came to this movie theater for private screening of selma. >> i lived through the '60s. i graduateed from mr. began state university in 1969. >> angeline hall what's says selma is a must see and the movie theme is personal to her. the private screenings sponsored by the perfect church encouraged all ages to take a front row seat to history. >> movie was long overdue. this happened so long ago. they're now getting around to makings this movie. >> the private creeping capped off a day of service. church members painted a homeless shelters. members took part in panel about dr. king's impact. we don't tell our stories any

disease. if you have a desk job doctors recommend that you stand for one to three minutes every 30 minutes of time. some companies are already using standing desks to combat this. sitting parent system bad even for people who regularly exercise. >> even if we do our half an hour, hour of exercise per day does not give us the reassurance that sitting for the other 23 hours of the day is okay. in fact it's not. >> rei sers is chess believe little things like taking the stairs instead of an elevator also help. you can also exercise while watching tv rather than sitting on the couch. that's good idea, chris may. >> i don't know, kathy. i enjoy my sitting. >> i know do you. do the newsstanding upper happens. our "eyewitness weather" watchers are talking about mostly cloudy skies and temperatures staying up a little bit because of those clouds. right now temperatures are mainly between the mid and upper 30s barbara is reporting a

temperature of arthritic degrees in willow grove and great state of delaware. we'll take a zoom in and show our many "eyewitness weather" watchers there. tyler reporting in 37 degrees in bear, delaware with a wind of only 6 miles an hour. and you can see in the wilmington area it is 39 degrees 39 degrees. that's what lisa is reporting in in. even to the north and west of philadelphia, where we normal normally see some of our colder temperatures. still looking at temperatures that are in the upper 30s. jim reporting in 37 degrees in royersford. here's a look at our high temperatures throughout the region today. in newark looking at temperature of 43. john reporting the same, 43 degrees in central delaware. walter saying in newark, 44 and in landenberg area 46 degrees. a pleasant day with temperatures above average. take look outside we're seeing some partly cloudy skies in center city philadelphia. we made it up to 45 degrees. earlier today in the city and now temperatures slowly falling off. on storm scan3 you can see the clouds. a few breaks in between but

mostly cloudy with some breaks down through cumberland county and cape may county even central and southern delaware seeing clear skies that is impacting the temperature w we have the clear skies colder temperatures case that point dover only their their. millville in comer land county 27. but some clouds in philadelphia up teflon in allentown 37 and in the poconos it is 28. so after a day of some sun and some wind, and isn't service we go to tuesday. that we see improving conditions. temperatures again in the 40s. close to where they were today but less wind. so tuesday will be more comfortable. then all eyes on a clipper doesn't look like much now in the northern plains but it will sweep to the south and redevelop off the coast. clippers general dollar not jenn rat much moisture but the secondary development could enhance some of moisture right now it locks like we're dealing with an inch or two of snow through philadelphia, to the north and west, as you get toward the shore we do anticipate some mixing with rain some lesser accumulations. a coating to an inch there. this is what we expect on went.
