philly more than a dozen people forced out of their homes overnight because of a major gas leak. >> jan is liver at the scene snyder avenue where crews just capped the leak. good morning jan. >> diana ukee, good morning, pgw crews have capped the leak. the gas stopped slowing and they ventilated apartments and large majority of people were let back inside. last check with pgw they tell me they're about to go back in to check out the last apartment where two people are displaced if the levels are down they'll be allowed back inside. meanwhile crews remain on the scene to work on permanent fix. >> an early morning gas leak made a cold morning south philadelphia even colder for close to two dozen people on snyder avenue and overwhelming smell of gas after:30 a.m. forced evacuation of six apartments including 17 people. >> they knocked on the door loud and told me there was gas leak

and now i'm outside waiting for there not to be a gas leak. >> fire hovlz believe the gas leak spent teams into their basement. >> the fire department meter readers saying there's a natural gas leak in the air. we want to evacuate as a precaution. >> after two hours they located the problem with 4" gas main and shut it off and there were no more injuries and the tlaep was evident. >> if you never know, fire purposes you wants to take every precaution arie measure we have to get out of this scene here. >> slowly as apartments were vept laipted residents were left back inside after a cold night. >> it's inconvenine. things is i may have sat in my bed until i died. you have to appreciate it on some level. >> and fortunately south philly high school is is locate add cross the street here. that was opened up as a warming

tar trailer screening out of control adds it struggled to stop on the new jersey turnpike this was taken sunday in new brunswick. driver of the car was stopped for an accident and while waiting for it to clear all this went down. the truck with two trail areas jack knifed and barreled across all three lanes toward him. it narrowly missed videotaping driver and plowed over media wran and came to rest in northbound lanes. >> there's nothing i can do humanly possible because i knew i had a wall of of people in front of me and wall of people coming at me from behind. so i prayed. that's all i could say. and that's all. without divine intervention there's nothing i can possibly do right now. >> unbelievable. as you can imagine there were lots of shattered nerves and fortunately no one was hurt. >> let's do traffic and weather together.

>> so scary to watch. my gosh. storm scan 3 thankfully black ice issues were reduced since jedd. that's good news to start off. we're looking at quiet weather overall. around most of the region today. we take you far inland here. you can see already a disturb an across the buckeye state. some will survive into pennsylvania. we here in delaware valley don't have to worry about it rather we have to zoom way out to see the next thing in line and it's still way up over canada and the beginnings of clipper system that will eventually zip across the u.s., by tomorrow, true to form, making speedy progress as it moves in here we're looking at light snow accumulations as is typical with clipper. there's two things different than that. one turns over to snow and you're likely well it's potential any jp way we see the system intensify as it moves through. that means higher snow totals

just after 6:00 amorning after hours of being in the cold weather these people were allowed back into their apartment. two out of 17 people displaced were allowed back inside. that's the good news. pgw continues to be on snyder avenue to pass the leak. there was app ol fire officials believe the gas break cents fumes into people's basement that's where highest readings were found and they located problem with a 4" gas main they shut it oaf and but the threat was certainly ev tept e. >> my fire department readers we have 60% natural gas 234 air with that we wanted to evacuate homes as a predawtion.
