traveling in this area again 295 southbound in paulsboro, new jersey we are dealing with this incident here. you will notice camera zooming in. it looks like right there is the overturn right there with another vehicle involved. just even up ahead as you will notice there. it looks like a three vehicle crash. emergency crews on the scene as well as road crews blocking the two right lanes. we have one lane of traffic getting by. once again just to reiterate that 295 southbound at paulsboro and we are getting information right in the traffic center. i can hear them buzzing over there it is involving an overturn truck, two right lanes blocked one lane only that black ice and slick spots are still out there. approach this rush hour commute with extra caution ukee. thanks torey. developing right now fire investigators in new jersey are working to find the cause of this massive apartment complex fire. cbs news correspondent don champion joins us from the scene in edge water bergen

county where don a state of emergency has just been declared, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, ukee, that is right this fire causing such a disruption that schools here in the city of been shut down for the day. over my shoulder you can see a great deal of smoke rising from that apartment complex at this hour definitely a very active fire fight taking place with crew is still struggling to get this fire income down. it took more than two hours for this fire that started with smoke billowing out of the window to grow into an inferno. flames quickly burned through the entire apartment complex in edge water, new jersey. the height of the fight fire fighters could be seen pouring water on neighboring buildings in an effort to stop the flames from spreading that work came with its own challenging. >> it hit the hydrant in so many locations it lowers the pressure.

>> reporter: just not lieutenant of what the the tore fight this thing. >> in the a lot of water. >> reporter: fire started 4:30 wednesday afternoon in the complex that sits along the hudson river right across from new york city. within an her crews called in extra help including fdny fire boats. more than two hour later you can see that there is still smoke billowing from the area overnight fire fighters work to put out flare-ups and hot spots in the complex. got news is we have minor injuries some fireman with minor injuries. there was in loss of life at this fire. >> reporter: more than 160 residents spent the night in the shelter inside a near pie school. in all we are told this apartment complexes houses 175 units, the cause of the fire has still in the yet been determined but as you heard the good news this morning is that officials do believe as of right now that all of the residents did get out, erika. >> don, thank you. right now 6:06.

developing right now a robbery end with a shooting inside a germantown variety store. an employee is critically injured and police say all this happened in front of the toddler. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us with the police headquarters with the very latest jan good morning. >> reporter: good morning. store employee remains at the hospital this morning in critical condition. police say he may in the survive it and if he does he will likely lose an eye. in the meantime police continue to be on the look out for this robbery suspect who got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. it was certainly a scary situation for everyone inside when the the shooting happened, including that little boy. >> philadelphia police dusting for fingerprints at this germantown store hoping a robbery suspect made a mistake and was in the wearing gloves. just after 8:30 wednesday night on the 1200 block of east stafford street police say man entered in a white hoodedded sweat shirt and ski mask and arm with the gun. after robbing the place for

garden and then beat, raped and robbed her. three two-year old woodson is from the pitberg area in addition to sexual assault and robbery he faces attempted murder charges. burlington county community comes together for a candle light vigil to remember a baby set on fire and killed by her mother. pemberton township police say hyphernkemberly dorvilier doused her new born with a accelerant and then set her on fire along simon town road friday night. dorvilier is now being held on $500,000 bail. 6:19 right now. newtown will tear down home where sandy hook shooter adam lanza once lived. town's legislative council voted to demolish it but keep 2-acre property as a open space. lanza shot his mother to death inside that home before killing 20 children and six adults at sandy hook elementary school in 2012. >> there should be further discussion about what to do with the property, it should be done productive witt.

good thursday morning to you, and, as you wake up roads are actually looking good. there are some slick spots in the neighborhood as would you expect and also on the sidewalks and do use caution but we are told that all of those major roadways they are cleared. once you get out of your street and your neighborhood you should be okay yeah, that is generally the spectation out there. it is just side street neighborhoods, your own driveway, that may end up being where you run into the biggest problems overall. temperature wise freezing do you think. >> below, at least for now and rest of the morning. that is where the concern comes from. even still when we go out to storm scan three what we will find is we have a couple trickling left overs in terms of moisture out there. you may be finding some fog maybe finding freezing if you go or a little hint of very light snow or flurries. if it sticks it won't accumulate much but it could

even though they have been treated, this ace major road 295 southbound through paulsboro, obviously new jersey dot is out here doing everything that they can to keep these roads safe. everybody is moving in as many directions just fine. this is what you can be finding. stopped traffic as they approach this accident scene, where maybe it was a slick spot a black ice spot on one of these ramps going off here. this is completely stopped down through this area. i believe vittoria was saying there was a shoulder that may be opened through there and you can see some cars inching along. they are going a mile an hour every so often. so know that the problems are out there most of the roads we have experienced look fine. we have a temperature in the mobile weather lab of 31 degrees, out in south jersey on a treated road and a big problem out here right now. so this is, the trend. we will try to nch our way

vehicle crash. the that is only one vehicle involved. other one is this jackknife tractor trailer as they are working on that what lies ahead of that jackknife is another vehicle involved. so if you are traveling in this area try to avoid it if you can. the new jersey turnpike might be a good alternate at this pint because this will definitely need sometime get cleared out of the way. they have to upright that trailer and that could close roadway down. watch out for rush hour on i-95 and schuylkill, ukee. developing right new a robbery gone bad a worker is critically injured after being shot in the face inside a germantown corner store. >> the gun man opened fire. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from police headquarters with the very latest information, jan, good morning. >> reporter: erika and ukee, good morning. not only was this store employee shot three times including once in the face but there were other customers and employees in the store at the time of the shooting as well, including the store owner at the front counter holding a

little boy in her arms at the time of the shooting. the so this could have ended up even worse then it the already was but there is one man still in the hospital this morning, still in critical condition. police believe that he may survive but that is unclear at this point. the robbery happened just after 8:30 at this store in the 1200 block of east stafford street in germantown. once police arrived they found a five three-year old store employee shot once in the the face and twice in the leg and was taken to einstein and will likely lose an eye. the witnesses tell police that this suspect entered the store wearing a white hoodie and ski mask and was arm with the silver handgun. after robbing the store police say he then shot the store employee working at a back deli counter. the the the suspect then ran away. there were two other customers in the store and other employees including that store's owner just 15 feet away from the suspect when he opened fire. >> the owner of the store a female was holding a two-year old boy, behind the counter

the at the time of this robbery, and shooting. fortunately, in one else was injured. >> reporter: police are interviewing a number of witnesses, unfortunately there were no surveillance cameras inside of the store at the time and they were scheduled to be installed later on this week. however police have duct taped the front door for fingerprint hoping that the suspect was in the wearing any gloves. we are reporting live outside philadelphia police headquarters this morning jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". after nine hours of deliberations a jury find former philadelphia sportscaster don tollefson guilty in his fraud trial. >> the jury has spoken and i believe in our legal system thank you. >> reporter: authorities hand cuffed tollefson and took him to a bucks county prison after the verdict was read yesterday. the jury found him guilty on all counts for scaming people and charities around the region, out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. prosecutors say he took the money for personal expenses and to support a drug and alcohol habit.
