"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao was on the scene in white marsh township to tell you more good morning. >> reporter: good morning. fire chief vehicle just pulled back on the scene this morning.

we hope to get more information from him very soon. in the meantime folks displaced continue, to walk out of this building, to find a safe, warm place to stay while the fire investigators investigate a cause. i was able to speak with the family including a mom and her five and eight year old daughters who live on the second floor apartment here. they woke up to alarms and thick smoke mom was able to get her girls into jackets and realizing there was no other option they jumped from a second floor apartment to safety. this is what the fire looked like at the the washington tower apartments on the 400 block of bethlehem with fire crew is arriving just before 1:00 in the morning they found some shooting from the second story apartment. officials tell thaws fire crews had to rescue at least one person from the balcony. as i mentioned other people had to jump. one person was taken to the hospital fortunately only with minor injuries. four story building was evacuated by fire crews but some could not wait. take a a listen to this family and how they got out on their
