they are digging out the nor'easter that rolled through hit very hard to the north, and cbs-3's chris van cleve has more in marshfield massachusetts. >> reporter: crews are clearing out debris in marshfeel, mass chew you sets. oceanfront homes in the the small town took a beating with the blizzard took out an 80-foot section of sea wall. >> no, it is crazy the way the force of the ocean, you know, you cannot fight back water. >> reporter: tim broke his nose and needed stitches after a wave crashed through his sliding glass door. the is house had extensive damage, but he is feeling fortunate. >> i could have got knocked out, you know what i mean probably would have been the end of me then. >> reporter: coast aal towns in the island of an talk it were hit especially hard, powerful wind, huge waves and storm surge left behind the kind of damage usually seen in hurricanes. the storm made a huge mess of wires, that means the the utility companies as well as cable companies are out making

"eyewitness news" cameras peering into the darkened store wednesday from the ground, and from above. seven stories up in the build ago cross the street, the view from the law office, shows a gaping hole in the roof, punched through by falling brick. above that workers started their repair work. >> we're just taking the rest of the loose off tightening up the top of the wall and waterproof the wall. >> reporter: l and i toured the damage in the afternoon stepping through debris inside the store and inspecting the the area where the brick fell. >> we're glad that nobody got seriously injured. >> reporter: bear lease owns the building where lulu lemon sits. priority number one is making sure the property is safe, something mason crews work at all day. they shourd up seven portion of the para pit. neither building show a issue of violation. bricks fell from the building owned by 1529 walnut street association. they had no comment. >> everybody involved, wants to see this property back and back in business. >> reporter: three women were

injured in the collapse taken out on stretchers. those inside when it happened, were scared. >> it was huge. it shook. it shook. it was intense. very intense. >> reporter: repairs on the property could take weeks, "eyewitness news" tried to ask the l and i commissioner's office for comment, several times but no calls were returned. there is no word on what caused the bricks to come down. and because of those extensive repairs, that are needed building officials tell us it could be at least aid in before that lulu lemon store can re-open. we are live from center city matt rivers, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you very much. dozens of people in montgomery county are without a place to call home tonight after they were forced out by a fire. the it broke out, overnight at the washington towers apartment on south bethlehem pike in white marsh township. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao has the latest on the investigation there. >> reporter: damage is evident, but even this doesn't indicate that the danger close to 100 residents of the washington tower apartments

found themselves in wednesday morning. when fire crew as arrived just before 1:00 a.m. flames were ripping through a a second floor apartment all the way to the roof. >> we're very, very fortunate with this that we had minor injuries. >> reporter: fire fighters rushed to evacuate close to 50 apartments and many of the resident here needed rescuing from balconies some those could not wait as thick smoke filled the air. >> and then we went to the window and saw the the fire. >> reporter: eight year-old maria, her five-year old sister and her mother jumped two floors to safety. >> i was scared because of the girls, you know, but we had to jump. >> reporter: a amid chaos mom shot this video on the ground, fortunately they were not injured. three people were taken to the hospital. one with minor burns. fire marshall says improvements made at these apartments on south bethlehem pike likely saved people from serious harm. >> put a modern a alarm system in the building, smoke

detectors alerted the occupants. >> reporter: sending them to safety but unless below freezing temperatures, some even without shoes. the fire marshall is hoping to get dozens displaced back inside their apartments very soon but that could take days. there still aren't any utilities on. in the meantime causes under investigation. in white marsh jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we have got new information about this mansion fire in maryland in, which six people died. investigators now say an electrical fire ignited some combustible materials and that the fire spread to a 15-foot tall christmas tree inside. that tree had been cut more than 60 days prior. now the fire killed an annapolis, maryland couple and their four young grandchildren who were spending the night. philadelphia police arrested a man wanted for attacking a teenage girl on board septa's route 15 trolley. damon oliver turn himself into east detectives this morning. surveillance video captured that attack near seventh and

girard last wednesday. the victim told us she bumped oliver with her backpack and he responded by punching her in the face. he's now charged with simple assault and other crimes. a montgomery county woman is charge with stealing from the cub scouts and girl scouts. heather bellford is facing charges of stealing of $3,500 from a cub scout pack and 7300 doll dollars from a girl scout troop n both cases she was the the leader of those groups. the she's charged with multiple counts including felony theft theft by deception, receiving stolen property and access device of fraud. coming up on cbs-3 "eyewitness news" just an incredible scene. fire fighters pulled three children from the burning building, you'll see dramatic rescue as they saw it happen in real time. plus, this election will not come down to domain names, it will come about addressing issues that matter in mess to the public. >> well, philadelphia councilman speaks out after his name is hijacked on line is this a dirty trick or smart

the scene at 2600 block of mum sevenfelt street there. a 64 year-old man has been taken into custody. we are not sure of the circumstances surrounding the violence as we keep you pose todd as details come in here on the air and cbs philly dot the come. new video takes you inside the rescue of three children from a burning home. four california fire fighters are being hailed heroes, after saving the the children of the house fire in fresno. you can see the entire rescue caught on camera. authorities say that these children were home, without their mother. they are now hospitalized in critical condition. >> the mother a had given us a general direction of where the kid were to be located and it is zero visibility inside of the building so we were kind of using half of them all feeling down the walls recognizing objects.

i'm chris may. police say that they did not racially profile two snow shovelers who were temporarily, detained in lower merion township. officials say they were enforcing a soliciting ordinance there and the snow shovelers were not, charged with a crime. well, clean up is underway i have partial roof collapse in center city. investigators are trying to figure out why bricks fell from a neighboring building, into the lulu lemon store on walnut street. and dozens of people have been displaced after after this overnight fire in white marsh township, montgomery county, three people suffered minor injuries, the cause of the fire is under investigation. kate? it was a bitterly cold day to day and unfortunately more cold is on the way. the first we have a light system to get through a clipper coming through late thursday into friday, then

councilman david oh. the current wage tax for city residents is at 3.92 percent. councilman oh wants to reduce it by nearly half. >> if we passed this bill what we can say is do business in philadelphia, stay in philadelphia, because our wage taxes is being reduced. >> councilman oh says a wage tax reductions is a necessary component for the city's economic growth and competitiveness. >> reporter: philadelphia police are searching for two suspects who held up a family dollar in the neighborhood. take a look at this surveillance video from january 21st around 10:00 p.m. two suspects robbed the employees at gunpoint as they were closing the store on germantown avenue. the those suspects got away with $81 cash, and some cigarettes. no one was injured. more surveillance video now from the operation mal coffee bar. the suspect with the gun robbed that shop january 18th at 9:00 p.m. and got away with

cash from the register. we do know no one was injury. well, the new emergency management team charged with reviving atlantic city is now in charge. today the turnaround specialist were expected to take their place at city hall and begin working on gambling resort's financial crisis. "eyewitness news" new jersey reporter cleve bryan is in atlantic city for us tonight with more, cleve? >> reporter: chris, atlantic city mayor don guardian made some space for this new emergency management team next to his office on the seventh floor. they arrived amid concerns about job cuts. they maintain streets keep neighborhoods safe, and educate young mind. public employees that all have a stake in atlantic city's future. >> we're very concerned about the loss of jobs. >> reporter: since governor christie announced last week that an emergency management team has control over atlantic city, public employees have been wondering about job security. teachers union contract cannot stop layoffs and there are several hundred staff members without tenure protection. >> we certainly don't want

jobs cut and we don't want important programs cut because our children need to be the priority. >> reporter: school board president john devlin says he and the superintendent have a meeting with the state commissioner of education on thursday to get clarity on how decisions will be made. >> cuts across the board we possibly could lose programs and that could affect some children but overall consensus is taxes are too high in atlantic city and we need help to reduce taxes. >> reporter: city officials expect emergency manager kevin levin and special consultant kevin orr to arrive at city hall wednesday but by late afternoon no signs of them near the business office where they are is expect to set up. uncertain over money matters does not sit well with the fire fighters union which has been without a contract since new years day. >> we don't know what the powers of these emergency management guys are but this is all, it feels like to us, sometimes, that this is what you will take and you cannot say nothing bit. it is like feeling likes our hand will be tied. >> reporter: so where is that emergency management team? we have clarification about
