4:44 am
classic clipper. for us we didn't get too much out of t we had very modest little coating at least in my neighborhood ended up verifying very well in terms of how much snow you saw across the northern tier of the delaware valley. overall nuisance more than anything. i want to start things off by showing you what's going on with the region wide zoom. yep, you have still got what looks to be pretty robust system there right? not for us, though. while you still may finds residual shower of rain or snow for that matter it, cents not really going to be anything that has a chance to accumulate, more than anything, i would say through the day skies start to clear winds starts to crank that will be the bigger more noticeable factor of our forecast quiet inbetween systems, we talked about this yesterday, actually we want to zero in on what's going on across the dessert southwest where we start to see this next storm system beginning to take shape t has got some snow with it, some rain, definitely looking a lot moran mate dollars than it did this same time yesterday. >> this will eventually pull into the planes, then just
4:45 am
roll across the eastern portion of the united states. soap, track is very, very important here s but here is what we have got in terms of your best shot for what we call significant snow. in other words 4 inches or more of snow to fall. and it does appear at this point that it would be the northern tier of our area that has that best chance. so, while i think this will almost strictly be a snow producer storm if this final track pans out it doesn't appear as though the further south you go you would be looking at more than maybe few inches, but again this is very localized area for a very large storm so until it is coming in little closer, then we can pinpoint. but that is generally speaking what we're looking at. clearing skies chilly wind kicks up today guys, high hits 36. drop it down to only nine tonight. that's bad enough. factor in gusts as high as 35 miles per hour out of the north wells and that will probably make it it feel like it is sub zero for everyone into tomorrow morning. so if your plans include hitting the road for whatever reason, being outside taking the dog for a walk, seabright sunshine. but will be frigid.
4:46 am
be ready for. that sunday afternoon the earliest we see the next round of the snow come in. it looks like generally is with us for most every groundhog day monday. so that's that said, phil might not see his shadow which would actually mean early spring. so there is a trade off there. wouldn't you say ukee? >> phil, i would love phil if that happened. >> we would send him love letters. >> phil's been upsetting me in recent years. >> specially last winter, phil. >> dude, phil, counting on you. still ahead on "eyewitness news", it's been philly tradition for well over 20 years. we'll have the wing bowl weighing in. >> first though here's what's coming up tonight on cbs-3.

4:51 am
who ever survives that, more power to them. and then that's it. that's basically t then you know you have got a bunch of extra curricular active tiff tis that go on that we can't talk that much about on family television. but will be here, it will be fun, we'll be here the whole time. and throughout the whole morning show, we will watch the festivities guys. >> and you volunteered for this one buddy? >> you must like wings a lot. >> say it one more time for me. they just turned up the music. >> i'm going shout t i said you volunteered and erika said: that's because you like the wings, that's correct? >> absolutely, i like the wings, i'm a big wing fan i like all different kinds of wings. lots of different kinds of wings. >> back-to-back matt. >> matt, thanks so much, we'll check in with you in a couple every minutes. >> hey, i didn't hear, is beastly doing the national anthem again? we'll find out. >> if not matt will do it, he's loving t coming up after a short break, traffic and weather together on the 3's.

4:55 am
>> not looking terrible, vet tore y we did however have very light snow that came through as advertised, it was modest system for sure. but we are going to continue to have to deal with wind through the day more than anything. and perhaps maybe lingering snow shower. look closely, if you do look closely outside, very thin layer of some light snow out on the road surface and the for ground there indicative of what just came through. see the moisture for the most part, kind of stuck in the dry, little air mass here, but there is a rain shower here and there. there is a snow shower here and there. so just watch for. that will we're jumping you into sunday, and specially monday. that is whether we see our next large storm move through guys. right now our models i have to say are showing real good consistency. it is appearing as though definitely going have enough cold air to set the stage for snow. so if the track pans out, we would be looking at the potential for moderate snow. next few days, women, tomorrow really just coached be ready for. that will then sunday afternoon, some more snow on the way. ukee, back to you. >> katie, thank so.
