morning that's right fire crews have now cleared the scene here on east main street, in norristown, this morning. no more high levels of carbon monoxide, you can see the road has reopened, and no injuries, so that's all the good news. however, the fire chief tells us peco will likely have a big job on its hands later today, they'll have to dig to find a problem with underground electrical equipment. a problem, a fire involving peco equipment and a light pole was quickly extinguishing by firefighters around midnight. but where there is fire, there is smoke. and because the wires are underground here, smoke backed up into nearby businesses, and gave off dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. crews found carbon monoxide in billings up 38 parts per million inside manholes. >> as crew walked door-to-door to make sure there were no injuries. they discovered an unrelated gas leak caused by bad heater in apartment just blocks away.

fire fight remembers not sure what sparked the flames, but they say the building was filled with fuel tanks vehicles, and tires. erika? >> ukee, a philadelphia city worker may lose his job after police say he attacked a 17 year old girl on a septa trolley. damon oliver had been suspended with intent to dismiss. oliver works for the philadelphia department of parks, and recreation. the alleged attack happened the will week on route 15 on the trolley. police say that the victim identified only as shea suffered a broken nose and a black eye. she is set for surgery later today. oliver turned himself in on wednesday. >> oliver pleaded simple assault two times, once in 2003, again in 2006. he has work for the city since 2008. the victim's mother wants to know: how oliver got the job. >> a little bit moral large that people working in the

said, very shocking. so far people we talk to, looks like intentional act. handling it as a homicide. >> knight outside on bail on recent theft charge, last august, someone shot him at a party, hosted by entertainer chris brown. >> mayor nutter is reacting to allegations of on duty sex among members of the philadelphia fire department. a story we had first on cbs-3 "eyewitness news". mayor nutter says officials are weighing disciplinary action against as many as 12 male members of the department. they are suspected of engaging in sexual activities with a female member at firehouses and in a fire department vehicle. >> it is significant, very complicated, a lot of details and we're just going to go through it as we would any other, you know, claim or series of allegations. >> the mayor went on to say that there may be reforms of department policy, as a result of this investigation. >> vice president joe biden? visit philadelphia today. the vice president will deliver remarks to the house

>> this was underground electrical fire involving peco equipment. the smoke from that fire backed up, into several businesses here and caused high levels of carbon monoxide. fire crews going door-to-door to make sure no one was inside. largely commercial area, so there were no injuries. crews ventilated three businesses here and have cleared the scene, tack ago look at video captured earlier on this morning all started around midnight east main street need swede street. fire crews quickly put out the electrical fire showing near light pole here. afterward that's when they detected those dangerous levels of gals. upon going door-to-door, fire crews then actually discovered an unrelated gas leak at some nearby apartment. two units involving six people were evacuated for a short period. they were back inside of their apartments this morning. that gasoline due to bad heater we're told. the focus then returned to the electrical problem outside of these local businesses. take a listen. juice start investigating buildings and found high
