angles covered for you. we have team coverage with meteorologist kathy orr and carol erickson. we will begin with kathy out on the sky deck tracking those tumbling temperatures kathy. >> we have some snow flurries out here big flakes at times with the wind, whipping. the big story is going to be the wind overnight tonight and tomorrow, and then, get ready for super bowl sunday snowstorm that will go right into the day on monday. the first lets look at storm scan three. we have an arctic front moving through creating enough lift to create snow showers. a little bit of the burst of snow, filled montgomery county going through parts of the delaware county, upper darby through south philadelphia and extending into south jersey and gloucester, mount laurel, cinnaminson, even burlington, seeing some of this snow. we saw it moving through philadelphia, and we are seeing it moving into south jersey right now. a brief burst of snow in the city, created about a coating. remember visibility will be reduced so you'll have changeable conditions.

it is not going to last long but with the wind whipping drifting create add cross road and there will be slick spots as temperatures are falling below freezing now. wind are gusting to 35 in philadelphia gusting to 40 in i should say poconos gusting to 33 miles an hour in wilmington. temperatures falling in the 20's this evening. wind chills will plunge as well. by 9:00 o'clock wind chillies 11. by 11:00 p.m. it will feel like four. in the city going below zero in many locations overnight. for more on the deep freeze and whipping wind that will get worse lets go to my collogue meteorologist carol erickson in cherry hill. you had some snow as well, right. >> we certainly did, cherry hill inside of a snow globe about ten minutes ago and it wet the road. visibility was way down. you find that in snow squals. looking at the mobile weather lab we have a temperature of 32 degrees. that snow squall dropping temperatures down to the freezing mark.

as we head over to route 70, cars are moving along but you can see the roads are wet, we're still now just getting a couple flurries. let me talk about this wind and show you a couple things. as we go to the weather computer you will find wind that can be gusting to 40 50 miles an hour and with those kind of wind you can definitely expect tree limb or two to come down and power lines can be impact by that. that is something everyone need to pay close attention to tonight. not just that the the vicious wind chill. temperatures will feel at zero or below literally across the the entire area this is the night for every layer you've got put them on and bring those pets inside as well. as we come back out live here in cherry hill you can see at this pint we have pick up a coating on the ground from the snow squall that came on through. this is just a wintry weekend. this is one feature of it though with the wind and the the chill. reporting live from cherry hill carol erickson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news".

"eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is there and todd, you just talk with someone inside of that house. >> reporter: chris, right now i'm told that the driver of the vehicle might have actually panic and hit the accelerator as opposed to the gas and launched his vehicle right in the living room of the home here in cherry hill. four people were inside the home when the car came crashing in, fortunately no one was in that front room at the time. i'm told elderly child had his grandchild with him in the vehicle. the driver was taken to the hospital mainly as a precaution. his grandchild was not injured. cherry hill high school east

is just across the street from the home on crescent road and dennis, and his two friend and grandmother were all upstairs in the home when the car came crashing in at around 3:30. >> i just came home from school and i was hanging out um stairs and then i heard a loud like crashing noise. i went downstairs, it was a huge car in my living room. >> reporter: family right now is staying at a hotel here in the area, and the home until it can be fix. reporting live, cherry hill new jersey, todd quinones for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> todd, thank you. new information in the federal investigation into fund raising tactics of pennsylvania state trooper rob mccord during his unsuccessful campaign for governor. the his attorney says mccord will plead guilty to certain federal charges. just a short time ago the firm released this videotaped apology. >> i stepped over the the line by trying to take advantage of the fact that two potential contributors hoped to continue to do business with the

commonwealth and by developing talking points to remind them that i could make things difficult for them. i essentially said that the potential contributor should not risk making an enemy of the state treasurer. clearly that was wrong. i was wrong. >> reporter: mccord is stepping down effective immediately and instead of on february 12th. pennsylvania governor tom wolf released a statement late today that read in part this type of behavior lead to the erosion of the public's trust and simply unacceptable. i stand firm in my commitment to restore the public's trust in their government. therefore i will act as quickly as possible to present a nominee to the senate of the highest caliber and capability. right now police in delaware are investigating an attempted carjacking involving a home land security investigation special agent. that crime happened inside of a parking garage at 11th and orange in wilmington police say armed agent was parking a government vehicle inside of the parking garage around 8:00 when he says that suspect tried to carjack him.

while this was happening federal investigators say that agent discharged one round from an agency issued firearm. carjacker ran and was arrested by wilmington police officers. it has been a month since anyone seen or heard from a new jersey mother of two. in the days since her husband has been charged with murder but there is no sign of her body. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live for news mount laurel with what her family is saying right now david? >> reporter: erika crippen's family says last time they heard from the 26 year-old was on december 30th, they called police, a week later after they noticed her husband now in jail repeatedly told them she was busy and would call them back. >> i think he killed her. >> reporter: janet crippen said she never got that call back from her big sister and the night mayors continue in her head. >> as a sister i don't want to completely take her out of my mind to say that she's dead. >> reporter: but decks are confident that kyle crosby killed his wife but at this

point they can't fine her body. twenty-nine of an infant and erika has a seven year-old from another relationship. >> she's seven years old and she's asking for her mother every day and we cannot give her any answers. she's not a dumb child. >> reporter: family members say quarter was last seen with crosby at pj wheelihans on december 30th, police questioned crosby after she was reported missing, then crosby disappeared for a few days. police pick him up following a traffic stop and a short foot chase earlier this month. he was driving erika's missing red ford taurus. janet crippen says she owes it to erika to find out what happened. >> people have connections to their siblings and i feel like i have a fair connection. >> reporter: this missing poster is outside the the home the couple shared together in mount laurel. the home has been empty since kyle was arrested. he is behind bars on a 1.2 million-dollar bail the the prosecutor's office here in burlington county, they tell me it is a priority to find out what happened to erika. if you have any information they encourage to you call

911. reporting live, from mount laurel, david spunt for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a havertown doctor and his receptionist are busted for writing illegal prescriptions. seventy-four year-old steve up friedman and 79 year-old margaret mcgowan surrendered to authorities today, they are accused of providing prescriptions for painkillers including oxycodone without medical examination. in one instance they found a script, taped on the office door. mitt romney ended weeks of speculation today former massachusetts governor announced he will not make another run for the the white house. romney announce that had decision on a private phone call to supporters and staff. he said that while he believes he can win the republican nomination again in 2016 another candidate might be better able to defeat the the democratic nominee. this decision sets off a fury to nab romney's donors. >> it is just one less person to choose from the way i look ate, mitt romney has a lot to offer the the country and the

tonight a local woman says her life fell apart after knee replacement surgery but it wasn't the ordinary pain from an operation. she spent months suffering. she knew there was something very seriously wrong. health reporter stephanie stahl reveals the crucial question she was never asked before the operation, that is tonight on "eyewitness news" at 11:00. lift has launched in philadelphia, the car sharing services has been up and running here hoping to get uber a run for its money. not everyone is happy about the the arrival. new at 6:00 justin finch is live at 30th street station to explain just why, justin. >> that is right. >> reporter: this service went live ten minutes ago. these are taxis back there i wish there was a taxi back there. these lift cars are driven by private people and their private cars and some here in philadelphia do in the like that all the but they are on the road tonight and they will be hard to miss because get this, they have pink mustaches in their dashes. coming to a curb near you, new

lift driver gregory duncan and his new accessory. were you bother putting a pink mustache on your dash board there. >> at first i was like, you know i'm a dude, pink mustache. >> reporter: he is among first drivers lift hired in philadelphia this video from the san francisco based company shows how it links its drivers to rider through its app. fares are transacted through app, but duncan says lift is not like other ride sharing apps on the market right now. >> it speaks about character about community, you know bringing people together, and you know talking. >> have have you ever seen the business opened and in the the one to do the the friendly business to make money. >> reporter: philadelphia parking authority which regulates the city taxi and limo operation will be looking for lift to i am pound their cars and site drivers. that is because the state has in the given lift the state approval to operate in the city and it has in the commonwealth, 66 other counties. >> the service that is provided here is safe legal.

worth celebrating cbs-3 at the the global leadership academy charter school in west philadelphia where students, in grade three through eight walk the red carpet and received award for their hard work on the pssa state test. it will be factored in the schools annual performance process. we are looking at cold, conditions, during the overnight and, of course, we have snow squals, moving from the northwest toward the south east and, south jersey right now. courtesy of an arctic blast arctic front moving through and that is what is creating the problems across the delaware valley. our weather watchers are saying yes, we have seen some snow out there, and right now the main folk us is through parts of the montgomery county, even parts of the philadelphia county into south jersey. let take a look around the region where temperatures are hovering around freezing in many locations. dimitri says in burlington township temperature is 32 degrees and already starting to snow there. remember these snow bursts are

only lasting, probably 15 or 20 minutes but they are reducing visibility at times and it will create slick spots with blowing and drifting snow. barbara says temperatures are 29 in willow grove. wind east at 2 miles an hour, not much wind and right there a partly cloudy sky. the as far as temperatures are concerned we are looking at numbers that are going to be falling fast with very windy conditions. mays landing 31. david is saying in jamison 29. robbinsville 31. bear delaware, 31. wind are gusting. right now in the poconos wind are gusting to 40 miles an hour, at jack frost big boulder. that is really incredible. those wind chills going to 20 below, overnight tonight, with a wind chill advisory in effect. that is some serious wind. on storm scan three we will take you new to the west with a developing storm system this is going to develop into a very big storm in the midwest and even as it head toward the east. first thing first wind advisory for the region

overnight for wind gusting to 50 and pretty much every where. overnight that means feels like readings will plunge below zero. tonight in the single numbers. by tomorrow morning it will feel like one in the city, two below in trenton 4b low in allentown and 19b low in the poconos. during the afternoon trying to rebound but better out there. then we are going to be seeing conditions that will stay really really cold. cold enough for snow by the time we make to it sunday. right now temperatures in the 30's and 20's but we will get way down overnight tonight. so, all eyes on our developing storm system. high pressure will give way to increasing clouds, by sunday and we will see snow right the through midwest heading our way by sunday afternoon. sunday night, seeing some snow possibly changing over to a mix and then back to snow as the storm exits and that would be on monday. those winter storm watches extend from desmond through the the parts of the midwest and through central pennsylvania. nothing issued through our region just yet. as far as snow accumulations i

have high confidence that the higher accumulations will be lehigh valley and poconos. the big question is how far does that warm air gets. philadelphia on the line between three and 6 inches to the northeast philadelphia and north and west. south philadelphia to the south one to 3 inches and coat to go an inch in millville atlantic city wildwood and dover where we will see a mix and change over to rain. but we will watch the track of that storm little more warm air could push those higher accumulations farther north. overnight low temperature 10 degrees. frigid. tomorrow will high only 25. we have wind chills once again in the single numbers. on the exclusive seven day forecast sunday the snow moves in, during late afternoon into the evening groundhog day, on monday doesn't it figure, yeah, punxsutawney phil will see his shadow, six more weeks of winter. monday snow end. tuesday the colder air yet that morning low of three. >> he will get back in that hole real quick. >> be in likes three.

>> thanks very much. we have problems on the schuylkill expressway. the this is right around 202 in the eastbound lane, heading toward the center city area where we will see that delay and westbound lanes doing just fine although so far. over on the ben franklin bridge, all lanes opened but that is only good news i have to give you. we have reduced speed down to 35 miles an hour for driving conditions, from weather but everything is completely opened, so headed westbound in the city, you can see not even using that speed as they are all moving very slowly. over out in delaware, new castle, 295 northbound there is a chemical spill taking out # right-hand lanes into new jersey on 295 north bound right around the delaware memorial bridge. and over in fair mount park, an mlk drive at green lane drive another crash there, so switch over in the the right-hand shoulder. stay right there we will be ri
