working on the car. obviously trying to get somebody you the. brought in the jaws of life. opened the top of the car like a tin can and put somebody in an ambulance. >> reporter: tuesday police identified 54 year-old n a rcyst mother sill as the man. police say monday afternoon shortly before 5:00 i was driving south on sproles road near sunny hill lane in villanova it is when this tree suddenly uprooted landing directly on top of his car and into riser's yard. mothersill on his way to pick up one of his two children died in the hospital. >> just a tragic case, and it is gut run muching. >> reporter: cbs-3 "eyewitness news" spoke to a number of attorneys and insurance professionals asking if anyone bears the brunt of legal responsibility. the response, unless there were written complaints against the home owner from where the the tree fell, it is generally not considered negligence. we check with the township, no complaints. lieutenant andy block says weather was a factor. >> we were experiencing wind in the area of 20 to 25 miles

an hour. >> reporter: riser says he is just thankful his three small children weren't outside playing in the yard. >> you think about what if, what could have happen and then when we learn the outcome of the car, last night, to think about the person's family and what they are going through today i just feel lucky. >> reporter: after the tree came down on mother sill's car it continue, swerved across the median and collided with a car northbound carrying two people. thankfully nobody else was hurt. reporting from radnor, i'm steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". take a look schuylkill river is turning to ice, as the cold temperatures keep the entire area in an icy grip. we're talking about wind chills in the teens and 20's. the meteorologist kathy orr is live on the cbs-3 sky deck with her first forecast, kathy. >> good news is natasha we will be seeing those wind subsiding and becoming southerly and that will change our forecast completely by tomorrow. temperatures around the region

still on the cold side, though take a look at these numbers philadelphia 29, allentown 20. sixteen in the poconos. doesn't take much wind to make it feel colder. feels like ten in allentown. nineteen in atlantic city. only seven right now. we are watching a system over great lakes this is going to stay to the north and bring a little light snow to the poconos come tomorrow morning. for the the rest of us we will watch the wind shift to the south and then by tomorrow morning we will have ten to 15 miles an hour wind from the south warming us up, into the 40's, but watch what happens on thursday. those temperatures will be crashing down, with snow, when we see those northwesterly wind moving in coming up we will talk about the brief break, wrapped warm up for tomorrow. thursday's clipper bringing round of light snow and potential for weekend storm that is in the seven day. i will see you later in the broadcast when i join you inside. >> we will see you then. developing news tonight in bridgeton, new jersey. resident are rallying after a deadly police shooting.

they are calling will for justice for junior roam reid shot and killed during a traffic stop back on december 30th. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan is live in bridgeton with more bridge. >> reporter: several dozen people have gathered protesting against police brutality. this is at the site where jerome reid was shot and killed by police. they say that they are going to march from here over to the city council meet to go voice their concerns, about his investigation into his death. now reid was shot and killed december 30th, he was a passenger during a traffic stop. also brahim day shot in the partner, roger worely there was a gun in the car after reid defied order not to leave. day shot him exiting the car. cumberland county prosecutor's office is investigating but they need to turn the case over to the attorney general's office. they also want bridgeton's mayor and a city council to assert more pressure while making sure there is a fair investigation. >> this is connected with you know eric gardener, connected

with michael brown, trayvon martin oscar green sean bell, everybody who has been victimized by police misconduct. >> reporter: investigators say they continue, this is a pending investigation and they will not comment. one will wrap up. they say they will leaving here momentarily and walking over to the city council meeting. i'm cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". tonight authorities in berks county are looking for a mandy pick in this sketch. they say he was involve in several child lurings in the area. the suspect linked to at least three attempted luringness reading, burn township and woymissing. if you recognize mandy pick in that sketch you are asked to call the authority. search is also underway for a gunman who injured a man in southwest philadelphia. the 22-year old victim was shot near 65th and pascal overnight. authority say that the victim drove himself to a police station looking for help. an officer drove that man to

the hospital and he is in critical condition tonight. mandatory paid sick leave for philadelphia workers is another step closer to reality following a city council hearing. new at 6:00 "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones spoke to a long time restaurant work shore said he and co-workers would go to work sick and prepare peoples food all because they didn't have paid sick days. >> reporter: working as a cook server and busboy jason mccarthey has a confession to make. >> there was a time you with preparing peoples food while were you sick. >> yes, i'm sorry. >> reporter: mccarthey and other work are testified tuesday before a city council committee hearing feared calling out sick because they would lose pay and worry about retribution. >> it is rampant in the restaurant industries. >> reporter: people lost their jobs. >> yes. >> reporter: discipline. >> discipline, fired reprimanded. >> reporter: when an employee is sick he or she should be a able to stay home and still get paid. that is the the idea behind city councilman bill greenly's

news". welshing federal health officials they are urging parents now to vaccinate their children against measles if they have in the done so already. the national debate on vaccinations reached capitol hill today as measles out break now grow toss 102 cases in 14 states. during a house hearing on capitol hill officials said that the measles vaccine is safe. >> measles can be serious and i would hate for a parent to think that everything will be fine and have a bad outcome with their child. so i strongly recommend people talk with their physicians and get the right information but personally would i definitely have my child vaccinated. >> most of the measles cases have been linked to several dozen people who were exposed to the measles at disney land in california. well, talk about bad luck a south jersey couple may never go on a cruise again after they got stuck on the ship with the noro virus out break not once but twice. ed and barbara ferguson are

"eyewitness news" got a sneak peak today at the exhibit. artist nathan salea features more than 100 lego sculptures made from more than a million bricks. that is a a lot including a 20-foot long trex. >> because it is lego, and because it has whimsy it is fun, engaging for children but yet pieces are so dramatic and

placed in some beautiful settings that it has a look of an art exhibit for an adult as well. macing. >> in addition to salea's own crucials the exhibit features interpretations historic works including mona lisa and the screen. the art of the brick it goes on display starting saturday. >> well, good evening, i saw that exhibit in new york and we all went craze i. even if you are not a huge lego fan you will love this exhibit. let's talk about the weather. we are looking at a clear skies right the now with cloud moving n these cloud, will be moving in overnight tonight and they will help temperature, from bottoming out too much, wind become southerly and that southerly wind within warming us up toward dawn. that is good news, in this particular forecast. we're looking at temperatures that are falling now though, mainly in the 20's. our eyewitness weather watchers are saying 20's are wild on this board tonight.
