♪ "eyewitness news" at 11:00 starts with breaking news tonight. a fiery and deadly train crash near new york city. the train hit an suv and then burst into flames. good evening everyone, i'm natasha brown in for jessica dean. >> i'm chris may. the train was packed. hundreds of commuters many heading home from work. when it crashed and caught fire. seven were killed. at least 12 injured and the driver of the suv is among the

dead tonight. all of this happened around 7:00 o'clock on the metro north line in west chester county which is north of new york city. the train's journey began at grand central station. it came to an end at a crossing where a jeep cherokee was sitting on the cracks. officials say the crossing gates came down on top of that jeep. now the train shoved the suv down the tracks. it eventually caught fire. between 800 and 850 people were on board the train at the time. the metro north is the nation's second busiest railroad it serves an estimated 280,000 riders each and every day. some in the back of the train had no idea what had happened. >> the train came to an abrupt halt. we weren't getting any information but we knew that something bad was going on because there were lots of police cars and firemen. >> for the most people people were keeping their cool. >> how about you? >> honestly, i tried to stay

relaxed through the whole thing. >> national transportation safety board investigators are on that scene right now. we'll stay on top of this story all night long. we'll have the lat test on "eyewitness news" this morning at 4:30. new tonight a very close call for a 12-year-old boy. a bullet comes right through his bedroom wall just feet from where he was sleeping. this happened on bryn mawr avenue in radnor. "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco talked with the boy and his mother tonight. scary but crazy. >> reporter: 12-year-old zach ma ren know is talking about bullet that came through his bedroom wall and landed on the floor early last thursday morning while he was sleeping just feet a way. >> i just look around and i saw nothing. i went back to sleep. >> sounded like something had hit the house. very loud. we kind of jumped up and my husband, you know, got his coat on and he went outside to look around and see if he could see anything report rt it wasn't

until zach's mom was cleaning his room a few days later she found the bullet and sheetrock particles on the carpet. >> i was kind of in shock. i mean i brought the bullet to my husband when i found it on the rug and i was like couldn't -- i said to him like i don't even know is this a bullet bullet? you know i've never actually held a bullet. >> reporter: two more bullet holes were found on this 320 side outside bin mauer of a home in radnor township. someone believe someone may have been driving by the house shooting at the sign when one of the burrell let's missed hitting the house in the background of this picture and firing right through zach's bedroom wall. >> we're just grateful no one did get hurt. >> reporter: sack didn't want to sleep in his room after he realized what had happened. but their family is feeling fortunate and this boy has some words for the shooter. >> it almost murdered a kid. almost murdered a child. because of the recklessness. >> reporter: radnor police do not believe that this family was targeted but they are hoping someone in the area may have

seen or heard something that would be helpful to them. in radnor township, i'm diana rocco cbs3 "eyewitness news". well, new tonight protesters and police come face to face in bridgeton. it happened at a rally calling for justice in the wake of a deadly police involved shooting in december. "eyewitness news" new jersey reporter cleve bryan was there. >> reporter: dozens arrived at bridgeton's municipal complex protesting the death of jerome reid at the bridgeton officers days and worley a shoot caught on police cash dam under investigation by the cumberland county prosecutor's office. as protesters went inside to speak at the city council meeting officers detained some of them. >> bridgeton police issued four people summons for walking oh and busy street during the march after being told over loud speakers to stay on the sidewalk sidewalk. >> you going to issue all of us

a ticket. all of us. >> within 20 minutes each person was released. >> it's scary to be under arrest. so it was hard to know what to do in the moment. >> reporter: lauren says speaking out against reid's death and getting a tick for a civil rights caused reminded reminded rosa parks who's birthday is tomorrow. >> i'm this is a a badge honor we were acting in the spirit of rosa parks. >> what shock protesters even more than the tickets when they got into council chambers the meeting was already over lasting only half an hour. >> you suspended the meeting. >> once i adjourn the meeting i can't open the meeting back up unless i put it in the paper that we have a special meeting. >> reporter: protesters left tuesday night's meeting peacefully activists want to have a meeting with city leaders but nothing has been set yet. they say they will be at city council meetings for the foreseeable future. in bridgeton, cleve bryan cbs3 "eyewitness news". just minutes ago jordan

announced the excutions of two isis prisoners and active research tour the terror groups death of a pill lot. jordanians flooded the streets to pro testify the killing. today isis posted a video that showed the 26-year-old being burned alive while inside that cage. he was captured in december after his plane crashed during u.s. led bombing run on isis targets inside syria. today president obama said that isis is only interested in death and destruction. >> i think we'll redouble the vigilance and determination on the part of a global coalition to make sure that they are degraded and ultimately defeated. >> jordan's king abdullah was in washington meeting with president at the white house he account short that visit in order to return to jordan. developing now the daughter of late whitney houston is fighting for her life tonight at an atlanta hospital.

bobbi kristina brown has been moved to emory university hospital where she is currently on life support. the 21-year-old was found by her husband and a friend face down in bathtub at her home on saturday. brown is reported until a medically induced coma and a source close to the family now tells entertainment tonight her loved ones have been advised to prepare for the worst. the measles outbreak meantime it is spreading and so is the national debate over whether vaccines should be required or optional. health officials say there are at least 131 cases in 14 states. today lawmakers grilled cdc officials about measles and vaccinations during a house hearing. they testified that the measles cab scene is safe. it saves lives and chirp should be vaccinated. the cdc says the measles outbreak originated at disneyland in california. now the debate over whether to require vac nations brings back memories from an outbreak in philadelphia that killed

several school children. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live in the sat center. david, the issue now not just personal, it's political. >> reporter: natasha it's political. former governor he had ren dull says he's concerned 1991 outbreak in philadelphia could repeat itself on national stage. 24 years agnes month philadelphia made national news when five children died from measles the local outbreak centered around two religious schools. faith tabernacle and first century gospel church encouraged parents not to vaccinate their children. >> could have been a lot worse. >> reporter: february 1991, brings back painful memories for former governor ed rendell who was running for mayor at the time. he says the city and country learned a valuable lesson from the '91 tragedy. a lesson that should stop the debate over vaccinating children children. >> try to convince people not to immunize their kids is just extraordinary stupid. report roar rendell's point doesn't sit well with honey a

well tonight in berks county authorities are looking for this man. they say that he attempted to lure children in that area. authorities believe the man is linked to three attempted lurings in reading, burn township and wyomissing. if you recognize the man in that sketch, you're encouraged to call the police. well a jury orders toyota to pay nearly $11 million to the victims of a deadly crash in minnesota. that is jury found that design flaw in the 1996 camry was

partial toll blame for a wreck that left three dead and two injured in 2006. attorneys for the plaintiff insisted the crash was caused by an acceleration defect while toyota argued that there was no design problem. the driver did spend 2.5 years behind bars in a vehicular hmm side conviction later overturn. police reports show the disgrace disgraced cyclist lance armstrong hit two parked cars during a night of partying in aspen in december and then he let his long-time girlfriend take the blame. niece are photos from the aspen police department his girlfriend reportedly told police she was driving the car home because quote lance had a little bit to drink. armstrong and his girlfriend did leave the scene before police could arrive. they have now cited the cyclist with failing to report an accident and speeding. you know this is grammy week in los angeles. and tomorrow night a 16-year-old guitarist from montgomery county will have her first la gig on very big stage.

elderly mom at a different credit union. the monthly fees drain the account putting it $52 in the red. >> all of this for $52? >> reporter: check systems is just one of dozens of companies that may have reports on you. tracking your habes including banking history how many insurance claims you filed your rental records if you're a good tenant even how often you return thing to stores. >> i want to know what these people are saying about us. consumer action joe says all of us should. >> you absolute val a right to request the information that these companies have on your. >> reporter: report these reports could be riddled with errors. causing a rental application to be denied. keeping you from opening a bank account. even drive up your insurance rates costing you thousand. johnny cleared up that 52-dollar debt tied to the account he shares with his mom and eventually the information reported to check systems was pulled. and his and stephanie's debit cards are working again.

see this little patch of snow right here? that is our clipper. that will be driving toward the east and by early thursday morning, it will be providing us with some light snow. so we have a couple of chances of snow over over the next couple of days, especially as we work our way toward the weekend. we'll talk more about that coming up. "eyewitness weather" watchers are saying brrr, it is cold out there with a clear skies. it's pretty but it's pretty. david is reporting a temperature of 22 degrees in clem mon ton. look at some of these numbers. 16 degrees right now margo in buena vista township in south jersey there's absolutely in wind so that's helping temperatures fall fast. jim is reporting a temperature of 16 in royersford. the part that we're enjoying are the clear skies because we're looking at a beautiful moon out there as well. take look outside where in center city philadelphia we have clear skies and cold temperatures. but if you're tonight you caught a glimpse of this beautiful full moon. we caught a glimpse with our

eyewitness cam. this picture from springfield pa stellar late tonight. pretty soon you won't be able to see it with the clouds rolling in. philadelphia 26. reading 19. allentown 12. our winds become southerly this milder air through the mid atlantic will be moving in and we will be feeling its impact tomorrow. southerly winds will be gusting during the afternoon. we'll break 40 degrees tomorrow. so any icy spots will be melting. and hopefully drying up. then we'll watch the clipper zip on eastward thursday morning light snow. not a lot associateed with this. high pressure bring baaing that arctic chill for friday. thursday snow. not much a coating to an inch. new information coming into weather center just moment ago suggests possibly up to half inch in philadelphia. once you get through the lehigh valley in the poconos one to 2-inches possible. so thursday into friday we see that colder air being reinforced and then another front moves offshore and creates the chance of another coastal low. so that would be sunday into
