breaking news right now a raging apartment fire in montgomery county, we are live, on the scene as fire fighters battle the the the flames and frigid temperatures making several daring rescues. good morning everyone we're also learning that at least one person was seriously injured. thank you so much for joining us i'm ukee washington. i'm quarter von tiehl. we have more breaking news a horrifying scene a deadly plane crash caught on dash cam video just an unbelievable sight. we will have latest on the desperate effort as death toll rise these morning. investigators are trying to figure out why an suv was sitting on the train trackness new york causing the worst crash in metro north history we will have the latest on the disaster that left seven people dead. those stories and much more coming up but lets start with the forecast. >> let's check with katie,

good morning. >> we can expect to see light round of snow mountain the days ahead. there is already some light snow that we are fining here on storm scan three as we go full screen and yes, there is very light snow falling through lancaster county a along portions of the i-95 cover corridor. we will talk about that and the next round of accumulating snow coming up. guys back to you. more on our breaking news fire fighters battling this multi alarm blaze in the montgomery county apartment building right now. >> dozens of residents had to be rescued from fire escapes and we are learning several residents were injured. lets get out too "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao live in norristown jan, good morning. >> reporter: erika and ukee good morning. it doesens of fire fighters remain on the scene in norristown battling the films at this apartment fire. you can see just how many people are here. they have the the bulk of this fire under control will but they are looking out for those

hot spots. the latest one was around the back side of the building the flames were showing through the roof but right now we can see smoke. fire fighters are going in and outlooking through this building as this investigation, continues. the the the efforts here on the scene continue. if you look at the video you can see how big and intense this fire was early this morning. details are still limited on exactly how this fire started but we're told the call came in around 1:00 this morning. dozens of fire fighters responded as this fire quickly grew to four alarms and fire fighters had had to work to evacuate this entire building. this is a 23 unit apartment building call the north on the 600 block of swede street in norristown. there were dramatic rescues as well, if you take a look at that video. we were able to capture two rescues. one of the rescues was a woman on a fourth story balance conn that i they had to take down and another rescue around the side of the building a man waving through window and he

was taken down on a ladder a as well. so a number of people had to be brought out of this building as this fire raged. we don't know exactly how many people were injured but we do know a number of people had to be taken to the hospital for injuries. we do know that one of these people we're told was rescued from a four story apartment and may have been rescued unresponsive. those details are still not confirmed but we are working to get information about that. at this point we do know several people were taken for injuries but we do not know severity of those injuries. we also don't know what caused this fire. the this is very early on in this investigation, as fire fighters go in and out but very scary morning not only for residents of this apartment but for residents in neighboring apartments as well. the take a listen. >> i cannot even imagine. i'm so upset. ten people are so that live in the building and it is going through the the whole building. i know how i'm feeling so they

mix of the two. lets talk about that snow. the it is very light. we will go to storm scan three and take you there. what we will fine going next to storm scan three we are fine something very light snow currently over maryland border into lancaster county. a a lot of this is having a hard time hitting the ground. we're getting clipped by the the southern most edge of the disturbance moving through so most of you, at least through delaware and southern new jersey will in the find anything out of this just a couple cloud. if you do see flurry or stray snow shower along the the way. temperatures in the 20's or teens. it is cold. closer to seasonal then it was yesterday. fifteen in doylestown. twelve in quakertown. depending upon your location it is colder or maybe not quite as harsh. luckily win has tapered off. we can expect to get in the 40's today which is closer to where it should be. down the shore cloud sunny breezy day but better. 43 degrees. we will take that. mostly cloudy skies.

again you'll find that flurry or snow shower. noing that accumulates but just adding to the wintry atmosphere. vittoria, good morning. >> good morning everyone. we are in the dealing with any major problems on the highways and byways. 4:36. usually we're still in the clear and we still are. looking at i-95 around cottman avenue notice traveling north and southbound northbound being your head lights in the shot here it is great even through construction zone. traveling around center city, bucks county, maybe south philadelphia, delaware county, down the board you're good. same thing for schuylkill expressway in delays in either direction this shot not far from center city. traveling through your western suburbs, speed limit 55 is your average around the curve. fifty-five is your average anywhere. if you are traveling in pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. all and all it is beautiful out there i can't say it enough this morning. however, jan carabao live on the scene of the apartment fire traveling in the the norristown area.

swede street is closed as a result at west marshall. if you are traveling generally around that area you will find other closures but dekalb street or main street would be your best bet. the mass transit is still in the clear erika. we are following breaking news in taiwan where a plane crash killed at least 15 people. frightening crash was captured on a dashboard camera. you can see the plane coming down sideways that clipped a taxi and a bridge. right before it crashed in the river. new 13 people have already been pull from the water, 30 are still missing. the the crash happened shortly after take off but there is in word on what officially caused it. developing right now, the the the the national transportation safety board has dispatched a go team of investigators to the site of the deadly metro north crash in new york. >> seven people tied when the train slammed in the jeep

snow but we're talking modest amounts, at most even through poconos and lehigh valley up to 2 inches folks. generally a coat to go an inch. it picks up late tonight. morning drive maybe a flurry or snow shower but won't accumulate especially through north and west and then later into this evening's commute no problems whatsoever. overnight that snow starts to move back in and through tomorrow morning's rush. included and sun in the meantime, your high is 45 degrees. with you but that snow will move in and we will see that light snowfall through the morning drive before it tapers off in the afternoon. we will be left with the modest coating to an inch for most locations. friday we're back in the deep freeze with more sunshine. the sat take it is a boring day, but just included and temperatures that are seasonal and then sunday a front stalls nearby and that brings in some rain and snow showers. ukee, back over to you.

a four alarm fire tore through this apartments on swede street around 1:00 this morning. fire fighters were forced to battle flames from outside at least one person was rush to the hospital. we will have another live report for you from that scene at the top of the hour. also breaking cell phone video shows a taiwan jet clipping an elevated roadway in taiwan before crashing in the river. at least 15 people were killed and authorities expect that death toll to rise. our time 4:50. lets check business. >> money watch's jill wagner joins us from the new york stock exchange. a great start for february for the market, i'll take it, what is behind it. >> reporter: it appears that the dramatic drop in oil price that he is rattled stock markets it could be over. oil prices surged yesterday they have gone up about 19 percent in four days and it comes as oil producers have canceled exploration projects and cut number of oil rigs so that jump is pushing energy stocks higher.
