weekends, full details are straight ahead. vittoria? >> as we were just talking about in the open 495 still currently closed, as a result that far truck accident. both northbound and southbound at 12th street. we will have alternates in a few more details in just a bit. ukee? >> vittoria, thank you. more on breaking news, interest truck accident injuries a driver and shuts down part of interstate 495 in new castle count. >> i crews trying to clear the recoinage time for your morning commute. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins you at the scene with the latest on that, good morning. >> erika, good morning, we have been watching the response to that crash throughout the morning being here, on the shoulder, just near the 12th street overpass here. that wreck just behind us here, as you can see perhaps now, the actual taj tore -- tractor being carried off the flatbed truck picking up other pieces across the highway there the tractor, rather, the dump portion still here on the grounds. this is the response right now to this rec that happened at about 2:40 this morning, we are told, that truck only vehicle involved in this

crash, somehow lost control here. the driver inside, he was injured, the extent of his injuries unknown at this time. but right now here on the grounds, del dot as well as the police here are trying to investigate this crash. that means the northbound and southbound lanes of 495 near 12th street have been shutdown for that. as a result, traffic on both sides is being diverted around the rec, not completely shutdown here, but being diverted around the highway here so investigators will continue their work here on the ground and traffic can flow. so if you are in the area this morning going to work or school, prepare yourself for alternate route or perhaps being forced off the highway around this crash here at 495 near 12th street. we are live here in wilmington, justin finch cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> justin, you talked about alternate routes. let's check in with vittoria with that and more. good morning. >> good morning, everyone, you know justin was saying that it was only partial of 495 that was closed. what he means by that is that the 12th street ramp still access somebody. if you are traveling on 495

both northbound, southbound, you can exit at the 12th street ramp, then re lop back around. but, i would really suggest just to try to avoid this area at all costs. now the good news, it is only 5:02 a.m. we are not used to high volume at all at this time. and that will be our saving grace, if they get that out of the way soon. but they don't, 95 would be your best alternate. you could take 295 but at this time i would suggest taking 995. and we will continue to provide you more details as they come on to us in the traffic center. if you are traveling on the schuylkill expressway, no delays in either direction, it is a breeze, 76 fantastic the rest of the majors, not a problem at all. how much, as we move our way into montgomery county, we have an accident in jenkintown a disable vehicle on bethlehem pike at church road. and really right now, it is just construction, besides that 495 accident, not dealing with too much on the majors. but if you are traveling on 95 northbound, the onramp from

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us right now at police headquarters with the latest on that investigation. jan, good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning. police have yet to identify the man who was shot and killed overnight. they say his injuries were too severe to his face to quickly id him this morning. this man was shot 17 times. >> a brutal attack on 51 year old man in kingsessing over

night, shot, 17 times at close range in the body and the head. >> based on balistic evidence, we know that at least 17 shots were fired for a semiautomatic weapon. we found 17 spent shell casings, most of these shell casings were within feet of where the victim had collapsed. >> the shooting happened a minute before midnight here in the 1400 block of south paxson street. after multiple reports of gunfire, police arrived to find an unidentified man lying unconscious on the sidewalk. he was pronounced dead short time later by medics on scene. now, police are hoping surveillance nearby and evidence left at the scene provide the leads they need to catch a killer. >> we also found what appears to be the victim's wallet laying just feet from the victim's body. so, there is a possibility that this shooting and homicide is robbery related. it is unusual to find the

victims wallet on the sidewalk next to his body. >> so the motive does remain unclear, however it could be robbery. also unclear, the suspects, but police do believe they are now searching for two men. anyone with information is asked to call police. we are reporting live outside every police headquarters, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you. two men walking into a south philadelphia bar didn't want beer. they wanted money. police say the men both wearing masks emptied the cash register at the irish times bar at second and bainbridge early this morning. at least one of them had a shotgun. no one was hurt. police are still looking for those suspects. a second floor window becomes an emergency exit after smoke and firetraps a woman inside her rittenhouse square condominium overnight. "eyewitness news" on the 300 block every south 17th street. firefighters helped bring the woman down to safety using a ladder. she was not hurt. the red cross is assisting three displaced residents and two pets.

well this philadelphia ambulance is out of service after catching fire overnight in old city. the ambulance was heading back to the station from jefferson hospital when it caught fire. there weren't any patient in the ambulance, and the paramedics inside were not hurt. >> happening today philadelphia's firefighters union is ready to talk about an investigation into allegations of on duty sex in the fire department. our i-team was first with this story. sources tell "eyewitness news", seven male firefighters investigated for alleged on duty sex with a female member had been told they violated department policy. they'll face disciplinary action. but, they can request administrative hearings. an attorney for the female member who is not under investigation, declined comment. the investigation was conducted by the philadelphia inspector general's office. >> we're also getting a look at surveillance video here that led to criminal charges against philadelphia police officer sean mcknight and kevin robinson. it appears to show rivera being knocked from a scooter

and then beaten, this is in may of 2013. riviera reportedly fled from the officers, who wanted to issue a traffic violation. charges against riviera were dropped when his girlfriend uncovered that video. the commissioner says the pair took things too far and then lied about it. >> what they did was totally ann prepare re at, totally improper totally in violation of any policy, any training, anything. >> when people flea, and they try to keep themselves from getting arrested, sometimes officers, in using force create injuries. that's the way it is. >> the officers have been suspended with intent to dismiss. philadelphia district attorney, seth williams, he is going to join just our studio to talk about this case coming up on the "cw philly". >> how did a 13 year old boy get crack cocaine into his school? that's what philadelphia police want to know. it happened yesterday at mitchell elementary school in southwest philadelphia. police say the teenager brought 16 pack totes school and put them in a eight year old's book bag. that child showed the drugs to two other eight year olds.

one of the children sniffed the drug. all of them were treated and released from children's hospital. now, last night investigators served a search warranted on the teenager's home but there were no arrests. investigators in taiwan just released new information about the deadly plane crash. they now say that both engines on the trans asia flight lost power before it clipped a bridge and then crashed into a river on wednesday. they think the pilots may have showed off one of the engines after the first one failed. divers pulled four more bodies of the water bringing the death toll now to 35. fifteen people survived. eight others are still missing. we continue to follow breaking news this morning. let's take live look from the wreckage, at the wreckage, of truck accident as it littered that truck parked across 495. that is part of the highway shutdown in delaware. we'll have details for you around the closure when we do traffic and weather together coming up on the 3's. >> also, crime turns into a

495 around 2:40 this morning trample southbound on 495 at 12th street we are still experiencing the closure. how much noticing vehicles drive on by. that's the northbound side. we will continue to keep you updated on this. they have removed the dump truck portion dump portion of the truck out of the way so still waiting for the full clearing. there is still now an investigation, so, traveling in and around this area, i would say 95 would be your best bet. just to avoid it altogether. if you are traveling the schuylkill expressway, and the rest of the pa majors, even in new jersey, no major delays, and our bridges are moving just as well. mass transit, also in the clear. ukee? >> thank you vet tore y flyers de mens man kim owe continue man will lays them up at the skate so for the first time since diagnosed with blood clots. timonen has been cleared to skate now. doctors treated his condition with blood thinners. they say he no longer has the blood clot in his lung, but the one in his leg remains. they assured everyone, though,
