're following breaking news right now, live look at i495 in delaware, after a truck crash injuries a driver. the northbound lanes, you can see, them moving just behind that truck. they've reopened. the southbound lane is closed right now than could affect your trip to work. they're working though, to clear that for you. right now, crews are picking up debris as the investigation continues. good morning everyone, "eyewitness news" reporter justin fin such near the scene, right now. justin be good morning.

>> good morning right off the over pass, shoulder here, at 12th street, and 49, a and just behind us, the response to this record that happened short time ago becomes 2:40 this morning as you can see the dump portion of the truck still clogging the southbound lanes of 495 here, on the scene here, there are firetrucks delaware dot there is also the delaware state police, all responding to this crash here. that did congest at one point both sides of the 495 just towed a half hour ago or so. one driver, who was injured the extent of his injuries, are unknown at this time. but, as you can see right now, in the video here, it was a major tie-up here, luckily not too much traffic on the roads here, at that hour. at this point diverting traffic off the 495 southbound, on to the ramps here so you're having a cut around the accident investigation site to get around the scene here. now, back out live, we can

tell that you at this point there is a male who was injured. the extent of his injuries, we do not know. but we do know that he was taken to the hospital. and is being cared for at this point. if you are coming to the to this area, plan your route carefully. as you can see here, still congestion in this area. we are live in wilmington, justin finch cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> justin, thanks so much for. that will we head over to svelt tore ya for that detour around that crash. good morning. >> good morning everyone. you know justin's absolutely right about restructuring your commute this morning. if you are traveling 495 this morning, i would say 95 would be your alternate. 495, southbound, is still closed. you do want to be careful of that. so 495 is still closed in the southbound direction at 12th street. they continue to get the remnants out of the way. you will notice if you are traveling in the for the bound direction, traffic moving just fine the southbound lanes still experience that closure. we continue to keep you

updated on that for sure. but again, 95 is your best alternate. again the accident occurred southbound 495 at 12th street. so just keep that in mind. as we move along now take a look at well i mean really majors in pa, traffic non-existent. if you are traveling 95, in and out every center city philadelphia, it is really fantastic around colt man, still around girard avenue, we're breathing easy right now on 95. the schuylkill expressway, and even traveling our area bridges, reach out of the ben franklin bridge, no problems headed out of any of the bridges. if you are traveling 95 northbound at the cottman avenue onramp there we do have construction, and if you are northeast commuter you're used to, that ongoing for quite some time. if you are traveling mass transit, definitely your best bet this morning i would say because we're waiting still in the wings of a rush hour, septa, new jersey transit patco, all running on time. looking good. now i will just leave with you this piece every advice. nice segway over to katie. still want to be careful of black ice on the roadway.

as far as going around region wide, you won't break the teens up in the mountains but expect some sunshine throughout the day the rest of the board here, and ending up with temperatures climbing to the upper 20's, in the philly area, and we only hit at best about the freezing mark down the shore today. so yes, it is cold outside. err dismay. >> police investigating it robbery was the motive behind deadly shooting in southwest philadelphia. police were called to the 1400 block of south paxson street kingsessing, just before midnight. there they found a 51 year old man unconscious on the sidewalk, and his wallet nearby. police say the suspect fired at least 17 shots at the victim hitting him multiple times in his face, and body. let's show you new video this morning from bold burglary in camden, you can see, a man walking out of that house, on church street, caring a 55-inch flat screen tv. it is a little tough to see his face but camden county police are looking for him right now. if you have seen this guy in the area caring a giant television, please, give police a call.

it has reopened the debate on spanking. during his speech about the roll of fathers and families, pope francis said it is acceptable, in certain situations. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us now to put this all into context nick snow. >> erika, the pontiff certainly has plenty of people talking this morning after saying it is okay for parents to spanning their children. now there is rawle happened during his weekly remarks from the vatican. pope francis said the form of punishment is acceptable, just so long as dignity is maintained. in other words he's not condoning a smack in the face. now, during the remarks which were devoted by the way to the role of father's in the family the pope outlined the traits of a good father. saying he's one who forgives, but is able to correct with firm necessary while not discouraging the child. so, we were wondering if you agreed with the pontiff's position on spanking, of corpse, lots of folks weighing in on social media this morning, couple of your tweets here, one from dean thompson says the pope thinks it is fine to smack kids, providing their dignity is maintained. beating kids is never the answer.

here i'm really bummed about that. off in the west, next disturbance, starting to show signs of life. that's eventually going to cross the country and here's what it will eventually be bringing to us. we do expect to see dry weather today tomorrow, and leading into sunday. but, toward the second half of the day sunday evening, light rain starts to move in, overnight into monday, well, because colder air starts to move in with that, so light mix of rain, sleet snow, at least the expectation for now and then we have our best chance of any accumulating snow, into monday night, at this point it generally looks like it would be light accumulations or light precipitation in general but if we're dealing with ice doesn't matter how light it is. you will have to deal with slick travel here into the monday morning drive possibly even into tuesday if there is, you know, any left over untreated surfaces, that kind of thing. meantime today's just cold, sunny, and then we warm things up ahead of that next system, which kind of just hangs out here sunday into monday. all right vittoria. over to you. >> katie, i've been looking forward to this all week.

>> i'm sore. >> i oh, what a bummer. >> d! >> well, we have little peels of good news for travelers in delaware right now. if you are traveling on 495 on a serious note, we had a very serious incident occur around 2:40 this morning. traveling on four. 495, reopened the northbound lanes, however live look now at the southbound side, crews are still working on the remnants of this accident. and there is an investigation going along with it, so if you are traveling in and around this area, can you not use the southbound side of 495 at 12th street. so, we do have alternate for you. that's just easily take 95. and the best news with that is that it is still pretty early this morning and we're not dealing with rush hour, still waiting in the wings. so this is definitely your best bet this morning. and we will let you know again when that does reopen up. as we move now to the schuylkill expressway eastbound 76 right around montgomery drive we are dealing with a disabled vehicle, pushed to the shoulder as much as possible. again, still waiting in the wings, rush hour now cause -- not causing any major delaysment onto 95, 95 looking

"eyewitness news" reporter justin fin such live at the scene to bring us up-to-date right now. good morning! erika, ukee, good morning the both lanes open about few minutes ago, i would say we were here, just minutes ago when we saw the southbound lanes reopened. they car i had that tractor-trailer away. the only visible evidence of that crash now see the rail between the north and southbound lanes still damaged, lots of skidmarks in the street. we know one driver injured, taken to the hospital, but let's take you on video from earlier this morning, you will see massive response, 495 at 12 street, del dot here, state police were here, as well as other first responders, also, getting the tractor portion and the dump portion safely away from this area. we are told that driver was heading southbound here on 495, somehow was involved in single vehicle c
