"eyewitness news" has learned the possible case of measles was

identified at a hospital in abington. diana rocco is live with developing details in the story diana. >> reporter: jessica that 15-year-old walked into the emergency room here at abington memorial hospital this afternoon afternoon. tonight he is following doctors orders at home in self ice laying. montgomery county health officials are investigating a physician suspected case of measles in a 15-year-old boy. while abington memorial hospital will not confirm or deny a source tells cbs3 that the teen was treated in their emergency room friday. >> someone contagious four days before they get the rash and four days after they have the rash. there's an 8-day period of time. >> reporter: it's not known if the teen was vaccinated or if he's been out in the public. but health officials say he is self isolating at home. >> it's certainly something we don't want someone going to the movies going to the grocery store and really potentially spreading this to others. >> reporter: dr. john russell the director of family medicine

says abington memorial hospital started implementing necessary precaution when a case was confirmed on monday in cumberland county. since then three cases have been found in central pennsylvania. while precautions are in place dr. russell says 95% of the public has had the vaccine is not at risk and shouldn't be alarmed. >> you should feel very protect protected. it's not 100% protect but it's in the upper 90's and that's what's so important about being vaccinated. >> reporter: new castle county is also dealing with a case and another in new jersey. it's now been confirmed in a one-year-old in jersey city who has recovered. and in the suspected montgomery county case, tests have been sent to the state health department lab they are expected back on monday. doctors say anyone who suspects they are displaying symptoms contact physician immediately much live in abington, diana rocco cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> diana thank in you total there have been at least 150 measles confirmed cases in 14

states nationwide. many but not all of them are linked to an outbreak that started at disneyland in california. as we continue to monitor developments in this story remember you can get the latest information any time on our website. you can also fine out about symptoms and confirmed cases it's all at cbsphilly.com. well the weekend is here and we're tracking a changing forecast for you. i've come to the weather sent. being joined by meteorologist kathy orr nowth we're looking at warm and then also a storm? >> yeah, warm before the storm. temperatures are going to soar. we'll talk about that. take a look outside. where it's cold for now but not for long. temperatures will actually be rising during those early morning hours. take look at the numbers right now in philadelphia we have 26. it's only 15 in allentown. 15 in the poconos. if you're out tonight you know it was a cold winter night. we are looking at a clear sky for now but clouds will be rolling in. southwesterly winds will be warming us nicely tomorrow by 9:00 o'clock we'll see some sun the item which are 30. by 11:00 o'clock on our way up

into the 40s. we'll be at 36 though before the noon hour. then all of our attention will be drawn to the west. the pineapple express this is an atmospheric river of moisture that actually originates in hawaii so what does this have to do with our weather? this is going to be fueling the storm that will be impacting the northeast over the course of the weekend the beginning of next week. so next couple of days quiet. but then all this moisture will be digging down toward the south and east toward the delaware valley, new york and new england england. we'll watch that area of low pressure sunday night and into monday. and right now it stays mild for saturday and for sunday. but it's going to be all about the track of this low that will determine who gets the heavy snow to the north and who gets the heavy rain to the south. right now as it stands we're looking at rain showers monday morning. that's when it will arrive then rain possibility of freezing rain even sleet even in the philadelphia area we have new information coming in and talking about that and then by monday, late in the evening it could end as a brief period of

snow. take a look at these future ice amounts much this is new this model just coming in showing a tenth of an inch of ice possible even in philadelphia and wilmington with interior south jersey possibly getting ice as well. to the north and west few hundredths of an inch of ice there. this is something we'll carefully watch over the course of the weekend. overnight mostly cloudy, not quite as. temperatures bottoming out in the mid 20s. and then rising toward dawn by the afternoon 44 degrees. so no issues saturday, no issues sunday. but then, late sunday night into monday we'll watch the track of that low right now monday's high 42. much colder for tuesday. and for wednesday. it will turn blustery. that new gfs model will be coming in the american model i'll take a look at and that be back later with the broadcast to talk more about the potential for icing even in philadelphia. for now we'll zen it back to you. >> see you then, kathy. we're following breaking news right now. a two alarm fire lit up the night sky in philadelphia's frankford neighborhood tonight. chopper three over that scene as

firefighters battleed flames throughout this evening. our natasha brown is live at the scene now on fulling rod street with new details for us. natasha? >> reporter: well, still an active scene here along the block as you can see behind me as firefighters continue to douse hot spots at this fire scene. this two arm alarm blaze though could have been much worse consuming many more buildings along this block had there not had been a fire station right across the street. >> a lot of flame. a lot of smoke. >> reporter: witnesses describe this massive fire in the 1600 block of folk rod street in fang frankford. >> the roof was like in flames, like you can hear banking in the place. >> reporter: chopper three capturing flames shooting from the roof. passenger by noticed smoke billowing from the building about 7:30 p.m. and ran across the street to the fire station to alert firefighters. the blaze quickly grew to two alarms. >> one-story building. about 100 feet deep. so they have fire through the

roof upon the rifle. fire was placed under control at 56 minutes later. >> reporter: as many as 75 firefighters tackle the fire from every angle confining it to just the one building. >> we're not sure what the occupancy of the building was at this time. or at that time there was no one in the building. one occupied business next door to that. the fire did not affect that building. >> reporter: we can also tell you tonight there were no injuries reported and no evacuations were necessary here along this block. we know that fire marshals will have to be here on the scene throughout the night trying to figure out what sparked this two alarm fire. live in frankford natasha brown cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> natasha, thank you. developing now route 73 is shut down in both directions in mt. laurel due to an accident near eight tree yum way. we got this eyewitness photo from anna bell shields. it shows the crash that knocked down utility poles. we know crews are still on the scene but no word yet on injuries or a cause. tonight the white house is

doubting claims by isis that anomer hostage was killed during coalition air strikes against the terror group. >> i am in solidarity with the syrian people. >> 26-year-old kayla mueller the last known american hostage held by isis. the group claims the arizona humanitarian aid worker died in jordanian air strike on syrian building. jordan's government calls the claims nothing but quote criminal propaganda. she was abducted in 2013. if those claims are true, mule there are would be the fourth american to die at the hands of isis. tonight authorities in ocean county say no charges will be filed in connection with the posting of anti semitic tweets. those tweets upset orthodox jews in and around lakewood township. in one a teenaged girl posted a picture dressed in a nazi outfit outfit. there are other posts about running over or blowing up jews in lakewood. investigatorinvestigators determined there's no threat of actual harm unless

discipline -- and left disciplines of those involve to the parents. >> even if it is a joke it is concerning this has become humorous to teenagers living in the community. >> i've seen the tweets and the pictures and i realize that it's a group of young children, but it's still a little disturbing to be honest. >> lakewood officials say even though they have a large orthodox community they haven't had any recent hate crimes. well new at 11:00 o'clock lawmakers pass sweeping changes to new jersey's drunk driving law. some call it a major step forward in the fight against impaired driving but others just call it a bad idea. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live in collingswood and this new law david comes with a catch. >> reporter: chris that catch is in inner lock device you have to do start your car and we came to collingswood earlier tonight. a little quite now but it was busier earlier tonight. we wanted to talk to new jersey drivers to see exactly what they think about it but the important part of this story this could affect pennsylvania, delaware and new jersey drivers if you are arrested for first time dui

in new jersey. the streets of collingswood busy on friday night. lots of family, friends and full glasses of wine. >> we just got a ride here because we know we might have glass of wine, and don't want to drive home. >> reporter: linda knox is playing it safe. but not everyone thinks the same way. a new prosal would change the dui law for first offenses. right now get a dui for the first time in new jersey, you could lose your license for three to seven months. the proposal would cut that time down to just 10 days. >> the bill is very severe. >> reporter: new jersey state senator nicky tear row sponsored the bill. don't be fooled by the surface language. there is a catch. >> 10 days license suspension and use one of these to start your car. >> just because we take their license doesn't stop people from driving. >> reporter: that's why he says his proposal will work. and if you have to use an ignition inner lock expect to pay $2.50 a day.

>> it's kind of grounded. if they can't pass the interlock they're not going anywhere. so that would keep them off the road. keep everybody safe. that way. >> reporter: numbers from the national highway traffic safety administration show 146 people were killed in 2013 in new jersey from drunk drivers. senator says that's one of the reasons he sponsored the bill. >> i've seen people get their license suspended and walk down the street and get in their car and drive home. so we've got to do something to change that. >> reporter: other drivers aren't sold on his bold proposal proposal. >> i don't think it's a good idea actually. i really don't. a fine and take their license away for a little bit. >> i think they should leave it the way it is now. >> reporter: you'll gel a lot of different opinions no matter where you go. 10 day suspension would be for all first time offenders. the inner look device in your car that would depend on the blood alcohol level. governor chris christie still needs to sign this into law. he has 45 days to do so.

a spokesman with his office says he's looking at the legislation now. another spokesman for madd said that organization supports this bill whole heartedly. we're live in collingswood tonight david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> david, very interesting stuff. thank you very much. we want to know what you think about that is story. connect with us right now on facebook and twitter and at cbsphilly.com. well coatesville high school english teacher and coach is under arrest and accused of having sex with a student. those allegations against mark hostutler date back 2008. investigators say that on at least three occasions he served alcohol to then 17-year-old at his mom in east goshen and then had sex with the girl. coatesville's superintendent says that hostutler is barred from campus and barred from contacting students. >> new developments in the fire department's sex scandal. the cbs3 i-team broke that story. now we've learn the woman at the center of the investigation may be disciplined and inspector

>> court rule that could derail the property that once housed the revel casino in atlantic city. federal appeals court has cited with the owners of a former nightclub at the revel. the court says the owner of that nightclub can't be stripped of their rights and the nightclub owner stand to lose $16 million. lawyers for developer glenn straub whose buying the revel say the issue over this nightclub could force him to back out of the deal. pope francis said today that depending on certain conditions it is okay for parents to spank their children. during his weekly address from the vatican the pope said that spanking is an acceptable form of punish many as long as dignity is maintain. during his address the pontiff spoke about the role of fathers in the family. outlining good traits of a father. he says that fathers forgive but can correct with firmness without discouraging their child

thanks. tomorrow will be a great day for shopping. even sunday just a good couple of days to be outside. right now our "eyewitness weather" watchers are saying it's cold. skies are mainly clear and partly cloudy and temperatures are falling fast. it's only 17 degrees right now in levittown. absolutely no wind out there. 24 degrees reported to the north and west of philadelphia in media. no wind though and the clear sky. jim is reporting in. if we go to delaware the temperature is only 20 degrees. you can see in new castle county in middletown jason is saying winds out of the west at five. the good news is, that these winds are going to be becoming southwesterly and that is going to be warming us and take look outside in philadelphia we're still holding on in the 20s. and some 30s. in center city 30 degrees right now. and that is a good sign as temperatures will be rising quickly after dawn. i want to talk a little bit more now, though, about our storm setup because it's going to be tricky key. we'll have a lot of cold air bolted up through new york and new england and we'll watch this front. now if this front sags a little

bit farther to the south, that would mean we would get in on the cold but everywhere to the north of this front will be below freezing and there will be heavy snow to the north of it. as far as we're concerned right now we are forecast something milder temperatures but there will be a sharp gradient you can see temperatures in the poconos between 35 and 40 the way we see it now. 40 to 45 in allentown. philadelphia touching 50 on sunday. and then you can see the warmer temperatures to the south. so who is going to get the snow? right now the look like interior parts of new york and new england and even into boston. philadelphia 5-inches of snow. so far this season. boston over 10 times as much and they'll get it again this time. seven day forecast calls for conditions to get colder. once we see this storm pass, still looking at a chance of icy mix even in philadelphia. we'll continue to update you over the weekend. we'll be back with more news

for the 39th annual keith valley challenge. the eight grade students have raised over $50,000 this year for the make wish foundation. so the students will be playing in an overnight floor hockey marathon for the cause. in 39 years the school has raised more than $900,000. tiger woods had to pull out of the farmers insurance open yesterday. phil nickel son didn't make the cut. he missed the cut today. back to back shots you can see the tournament this weekend right here on cbs3. we'll be right back. ♪

♪ temple university is raising awareness of heart disease tonight. the temple women go red committee hosted their gala benefit in manayunk. the first of what will be annual events. february is heart month and today is designated go red for women. heart disease of course kills one woman every minute. proceeds from tickets and silent auction items tonight will go to the american heart association. well, also new tonight some classic soul at the kimmel center. ♪ >> we know that one. the philly pops entertained the crowd during the soul concert tonight. music director and the pops performed r and b hits. the philly pops classic soul series runs through sunday.
