for you out there. >> katie is in the weather center with the latest. >> i'm worried you might walk out, it is dry you think you're okay because we have such scattered precipitation out there. the problem is these temperatures are dropping. so it might start as rain showers, but will go to freezing rain then sleet and then eventually some snow. yes, so we've got a lot going on out there. it will be very light precipitation. i don't want you to let your guard down, folks. more than anything worried about ice, as we all well know yes the precipitation is light you don't need very much of it when it is in ice form to cause major major problems. start you off with getting you outside. first and for most on storm scan tighter zoom for you here yes, a mix right now where you have got the pink, starting to see the temperatures fall little more readily, and make it a little bit more easy to either freeze on contact, as rain showers turning over to freezing rain, or actually turn over to some sleet. no snow just yet. we will need the temperatures to drop little bit more for. that will that will happen with time, however. and as we take you out to the live neighborhood network the

other issue is that you can't see the center city skyline. so some fog issues, as well, low-lying cloud cover. so this is truly a day that has it all whether it comes to the weather department. even though it is all very, very modest precipitation winter weather advisories currently in effect across most of the board here. they last us until tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. so, even though all of the precipitation we find out there will remain light throughout the day and into tonight, it is going to be with us, throughout the day and into tonight before completely tapers off. through the morning basically, what's going to happen here the general gist of this is that as temperatures slowly key word slowly decline, you'll start to see that precipitation morph to rain and freezing rain and sleet and eventually tonight to some snow. while not expecting a ton of accumulation from that snow, some every you could pick up coating to an inch north every philadelphia meanwhile temperatures stay marginal with freezing, for the rest of the day. that is why we've got to worry about that potential for icing at any time.

a good rule of thumb that i like to throw out keep ion your car thermometer. flirting with freezing and looks wet on the road surface or sidewalk, expect that it could be ice and just slow it down out there. always best to play it safe. jess over to you. >> definitely some good advice, thanks katie. good morning shall everybody little after 5:00. definitely playing safe. good good, good way to go so far on this monday morning but right now everything looking just okay. we head outside on the schuylkill expressway, right around the vine street expressway actually. so over to the left hand side headlights are coming in eastbound, westbound lanes looking great, there as well. see the roadways looking tiny bit damp. still everything moving just fine. not much volume real toy speak of as well. over on the ben franklin bridge, all lanes completely open from the philly side so headed westbound into the city currently no problems. no problems headed into jersey, a well. the rest of the bridges though, walt whitman to problems on the east and westbound side. do have speed restrictions as well for the betsy ross bridge, east and web lines down to 35 miles per hour due to lingering fog.

his psy trist was also grazed in the head before pulling his own weapon, currently wounding plotts last july. >> gunfire in west philadelphia leaves one person dead and two others wounded. police say two people shot two men and a woman on the 5800 block of fernwood street around 11:00 last night. gunman reportedly dumped one of the men on the 5400 block of eude off street. he died overnight. the other two are in stable condition. a warning now from philadelphia police be careful you what post on social media. this follows a home invasion in somerton in which steve's new, actually what they were looking for. let's take to you video from the scene at south and somerton rather yesterday. 2:30 sunday morning authorities say three mask men kicked in the front door, looking for that rolex watch and other jewelry items those men were armed and they got a which with those things, as well. now, four other teens were in the apartment and one was able to call 911. this all happened at the brookshire terrace ants, and as police arrived they say those men went out back window and no surprise that people in that area are suspicious. >> we heard the glass all fall. and then you heard them scream like get out of the house run. >> definitely somebody who is affiliated with them, had to be. they know where you live. you are telling them what you have. it is almost like inviting them in. >> now, of course, that first neighbor actually heard the get away every those three men. police did recover cell phones if the scene found two guns in the apartment but no word on hot guns belong to, the residence or perhaps the men

z. >> montgomery county health officials say suspected case every measles was false alarm. suspected 15 year old who came into the er friday may have been infected with the disease but lab tests were negative. the health department says there is no public threat. it urges parents to have their children vaccinated. >> a snow shoveling incident in lower merion, sparks conversation on race and police relations. back on january 27th, 2 groups of black men were popped and questioned by police while shoveling snow. last night residents met face-to-face with township officials to discuss the incident in which some have called racial profiling. the community meeting drew a very spirited debate. i have a problem if my children are being stopped by the police and we live here. >> we view our statistics on this particular issue of soliciting. nine out every ten calls come from a residence. people sitting in this room. >> police say they stopped the men for violating the township offered nance cents on

so let's take you out there. we will just get you right on out to storm scan. what's happening here on wider zoom notice, all of the pretty colors available. the purple off to the north indicating snow, pretty decent snow at. that will some of the pink starting to nudge into our region, and that is actually what i would say is probably some of the worse weather that could you have for a commute t may look just wet to you. and truely yes. i mean, you have got very scattered precipitation out there. so a loft will you walk out the door not see anything falling from the sky. don't let that mean that you have got to let your guard down here, folks. now, yesterday we came to some incredibly mild territory. look out millville in the pinelands, 61 degrees. not shabby. but now starting to see that front sag in. so look at how the temperatures have dropped off since then. back down to mere freezing in most spots or actually at freezing, so this is the point where we start to worry about any of those rain showers scattered though they may be, starting to change over, mix with, turn to freezing rain or sleet, and then eventually you will see some snow. so as that line that we showed

you second ago shifts south, you will ends up with a mix every ice snow, up toward the poconos, generally rain showers, and icing across most of the rest of the board it is primarily rain showers though, head further to the south. so, there are winter weather advisories, staying in effect until 6:00 a.m. tomorrow. so nice long window of opportunity for this very scattered precipitation to lead to some problems for us out there. that means today this morning, and tonight's commute could be affected. skies will thankfully be clearing by tomorrow, come wednesday up to 37 with sun. thursday know another clipper coming along here. looks weak in terms every snow but probably couple of snow showers more than anything, though it, will reinforce the chill for us, headed into valentine's weekends. we want a check on how things are look. for that we send things out to carol erickson live for us all morning long with the cbs-3 mobile weather lab. hi carol. >> good morning carol. high everybody, starting to see lit precipitation really nothing through the philadelphia area. with these temperatures above the freezing mark, we're going to be headed up to trenton

though and it is 30 degrees up there at the airport in trenton, and the official call from the airport unknown precipitation. i think when you start to see temperatures of course that are below the freezing mark, you will be dealing with at least chance of picking up some freezing rain. now, a loft areas the morning commute may be better than the evening commute. so, let me show you on our weather graphic, at this point, what we're spec. and this morning many areas above freezing, but not all. so areas to the north where you are likely to find colder temperatures of covers, be particularly careful. then goes into the afternoon and evening some of this air can be starting to cool, as this colder air starts to filter down. that's when you really want to watch for some of the change-over. freezing rain possible, and then by tonight we've got some light precipitation that's going to be ending, but still, these temperatures will be dropping below the freezing mark tonight. any residual moisture is a problem. right onto 95 at the present time. we will take that old

phonecall and see who is calling us at this point. but we're going to be looking at a day that i think is less troublesome than it could be. but still with any amount of precipitation, with temperatures getting close to that freezing mark, that's when obviously we've got to pay very close attention to what is under foot. so roads right now where we are, on 95, just leaving center city, not a problem. we'll head north and let us know what we find. let's check on the other roads with jessica. >> hey carol thank you. actually going outside check out how 95 is doing as well, little bit of different spot right around bridge. and everything seems to be looking just okay so far. if we can take this camera here, and i can show you little shaky. so maybe little windy. see the top it, seems to have little bit of precipitation on the camera, little shiny, and weird there but everything still moving along great. southbound, or northbound 95 right around bridge. otherwise, speaking of bridges, we go to the ben franklin bridge, everything actually looking great here as

5:23, your monday morning, how is it looking out there? >> not ideal not horrible either. it is definately one of those mornings where i really want you to be on your guard if it looks wet out on the road surface it says it is flirting with freezing on the car thermometer, slow it down. we show you wider zoom on storm scan, which looks as though it is like a large area of low pressure to the north that's going to be sort of spinning away off to the northeast, right? this isn't exactly taking the typical route folks. it is actually going to be a front that sags in from the north. so colder air joins up with it, you can see what's happening here, as we've had scattered rain showers they've gun to turn over to freezing rain or sleet in some of these spots. more than anything, though, you have got to worry about that possibility of icing out there. over the course of the day and

over on 95, around cottman avenue, same story here. you can see especially northbound lanes shall where the headlights are headed out into northeast philadelphia, you can see the roadways little damp there as well. southbound lanes where the taillights are losing out the one lane due to ongoing construction, but everything moving just fine there so far into the center city area. otherwise, we have some small speed restrictions, 35 miles per hour on the betsy ross bridge, east and westbound due to lingering fog. and some small precipitation there. otherwise, walt whitman bridge looking just fine. rest of the majors really okay, 95 we just looked at, northbound lanes, no problems there, 422 westbound from 202 into oaks about eight minute trip there as well. we have some work on 95 northbound, on the onramp from cottman avenue, though. be careful when headed on throughment ukee, back over to you. >> thanks, jess, in sports, sixers play their final game before the nba all-star break tonight. curry and the golden state warriors in town. have the best record in the association. on the ice the flyers may have to do without goalie steve mason who suffered a

speaking you can see the gwen turning to pink. that will means as temperatures drop, flirting with freezing it will potentially mean even if falling still technically as rain it, could start to freeze on contact. and likely even start to see sleet mixing in here, as well. especially the further north you travel. but here is the bottom line. with this storm time line, we are really just going to be dealing with, we call it, scattered and light precipitation, at any time here today folks. but the thing is, cold air nudges in with time. so what starts as scattered rain showers will likely turn over to freezing rain, and then some sleet. and then later into tonight as temperatures drop even more probably see some light snowflakes mixing in too. but i have to tell you i'm most worn bid ice with this, because ice tends to be the one that is most hairs hard us. so, look at this as we look at feature ice and the, only talking potentially abo
