system for us, but man did it cause some headaches for us out there. and it will continue to do so this morning even though it is retreating. so there are still winter weather advisories posted across the board further north and west go, everything done for you up in the poconos, as long as roads are treated, berks lancaster county, but near toward the city where things starting to a bit more a rye. depending on location winter weather advisory may stay in effect until 8:00, 10:00 a.m. keep an eye on the car thermometer, best advice with this kinds after situation. if it is at or below freezing, as it is everywhere right now it is very likely that there is any moisture left on the surface, whether it is the front stoop, the driveway, or the road, it has had a chance to since freeze back over. looking at the temperatures, even up through quakertown, pottstown, yes easily below freezing so it will still be slick out there. in quite a few locations, take it easy. around the region, though, skies will just generally start to clear. yes, down the shore you might
4:32 am
still finds and through delaware too some residual leftovers of freezing drizzle maybe few snowflakes, moving forward in this forecast, we start to see skies clearing with time, that's going allow for at least little bit of sunshine as the day progresses but off to little bit after like start already. just because of the weather situation, so we'll get a check on how it is looking with meteorologist justin drabek, live all morning long in the mobile weather lab. >> good morning, that's right in south philadelphia right now, going over the girard point bridge, no precipitation knawling south philly. as you mentioned temperatures are below freezing coming in at 28 degrees, sidewalks neighborhoods, driveways parking lot, forget t they are iced over the the highways again looking wet but still just little scary. you can see shine on the road. so just don't risk it. just take it slow. that's what we're doing obviously speed restrictions on area bridges get the cold air under the bridges so it ices over first. just play it safe for the first few hours this morning
4:33 am
once the sun is up hopefully it starts to melt things. i've seen a loft salt trucks on the highways, but really the neighborhoods and side roads that will be the issue. actually we are headed into new castle county, delaware, still left over sleet freezing rain down there. that could be issue especially over the next few hours, still left over moisture there. again, the key thing here this morning is just take it slow, out on the area roadways, even though the major roads are salted you still just want to play it safe as temperatures are pretty much solid below freezing holding steady in the upper 20's. so just take it easy out there this morning. that's the latest here in south philadelphia in the cbs-3 mobile weather lab for the rest on the roads and traffic, we send it back to the studio with jessica. >> good morning just little after 4:30 we go outside check area bridges in just a second, but first we start things off on the vine street expressway. right around 16th street, you can see east, westbound everything moving just fine, not much of any volume to speak of. out on the ben franklin bridge

perdue. we believe in a better chicken. 4:53, we want our traffic and weather together. nice roads out there jess. >> yes, a little better than yesterday, though. that's at least a good thing at 4:52, we go outside and check out really not a loft volume on the blue route around mcdade. southbound northbound, no problems there, as well. over on 95 at cottman, you can definitely see some possibly slippery conditions here. you can see the roadways are actually pretty shiny specially in the northbound lanes there where the heads lights r southbound where we see most of the problems specially volume wise headed toward the center city area. we also lose out that right hand lane due to ongoing construction, not really giving us much of a problem so far. seeing no problems. we do have some out in new jersey new jersey new jersey turnpike southbound lanes between new brunswick and hightstown. this actually is a accident investigation from last night. take route 130 southbound to get on by that scene for the time being. otherwise, outside of marlton
4:54 am
new jersey, past route 73, another crash push over to the right-hand lane. do have speed restriction out on the bridge, 45 on the commodore barry, 45 on the ben franklin bridge, due icy conditions. now katie little dryer today. but freezing. >> that and the fact we did have moisture that came through last night, you know, additional round of precipitation could have easily iced back over. so don't let your guard down, folks. even though we are watching this disturbance thankfully retreat. still see even some residual freezing drizzle picking up here across salem county, the extreme southern most edge of cape may county. but delaware more than anything, is the one you notice, at least for our area. that's engulfed right now with the best chance for some additional precipitation out there. but again, it is very light in nature. here's how it feels outside. the wind starting to pick up for us, so feeling about ten or so degrees colder than the thermometer actually reads, more like the teens generally speaking, and as we take you taught what it actually reads on the they are mom term, there you have it, 28 is the actual air temperature both at
4:55 am
philadelphia international and atlantic sit. twenty-one the temperature up at knowledge pocono. everyone technically below freezing, air temperature, a lot of times i say use the feels-like value as best gauge, but morning like there is pay close attention to the actual air temperature if it is close to or below freezing, which it likely will be, throughout the morning commute, it will likely mean that any left-over moisture has iced over. looking forward to the forecast today we should end up with some sunshine, flirt with 40, upper 30's tomorrow, pretty quiet dayment then thursday comes along with the next clipper tan does bring couple of snow showers generally it could start as early as midday, but by friday valentine day weekends, even beyond that point when the arctic chill set to really just set in. so we have a hard time even hitting the freezing mark, for the better part of our seven day forecast, ukee, back to you. >> thank up, here is a look at stories our sister station "kyw news radio" 1060 will be following for you today. pennsylvania governor tom wolf says he's scrapping his predecessor's plan involving
