"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from the somerset station in kensington with more on the safety blitz, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, ukee. for three hours this morning septa is stepping up what it is called a safety blitz aimed at distract commuters. so what that means is that some officers may come up and have a little bit of the conversation with you this morning. they are reminding riders not to be so engrossedded in music, reading, social media and phone that if you step off the yellow line and on to the tracks. this is call stay back from the edge. police officers and safety officers will be out here at the somerset station which serves septa's market frankford line reminding folks to be aware of their surroundings. meanwhile septa police have stepped up patrolses in light of recent violence during peak hours after school when students flood the system. septa has double the number of office are on patrol hoping to prevent brawls like this one involving teens recently caught on cell phone video.
