l value. these wind chills are so, so brutal. spots where technically on the thermometer actually already there. you're below zero. soap, i feel like the perception so much bigger on this one because we've seen this kind of cold before. but it has been so long. >> a while. >> a long, long time yes. so the second you walk out the door man it hits you. so, be ready for that. >> bundle everything up. >> exactly. we take you out there. storm scan looks awfully innocent, doesn't it? you cannot go by face value on this one, my friends. we expect to end up with full sunny day out there. as the day progresses, unfortunately, that wind will continue to get you. now, there are windchill advisories still in effect this morning notice the entire region is now affected. it was just the northwest half of our area. the weather service has since included everyone else, it will expire as early as 9:00 a.m., as late as noon, but also windchill warnings for the poconos. you can understand why. here's how it feels there. twenty-five below zero, rough rough stuff. everyone feeling like it is sub zero right now. as the day progresses, again we get the sunshine, but the

winds is going to continue to crank, thankfully it eases up somewhat as the day goes on, but we're still only talking low 20's at best for daytime highs. now looking ahead to sunday, just when you thought it couldn't get worse we will not even hit 20 degrees, expecting rather that we're at best going to climb to the upper teens with even more persistent winds it will just be absolutely brutal. i think all of sunday, feels like it is sub zero, and it may continue to feel like it is sub zero until at least late morning on monday. so real long, prolonged batch of cold air coming our way here, and again sunday into early monday will be the worse. vittoria, over to you. >> that graphic was severe. >> bad stuff. >> yes. >> oh, oh, anyway. good morning everyone, you know, traveling out and about you at least you won't have that sort of face when you look at traffic. it is great outside. not dealing with too much of a problem at all if any problem. 5:31, right out to the schuylkill expressway, still pretty quiet around the area

of 202, king of prussia, gulph mills stretch, looking fantastic. things around center city also still quiet. even as you make your way beyond university sit and even toward the south philadelphia, still great outside also, our area bridges. this is the ben franklin bridge, but lull of the bridges moving an extremely well. however, kennett square, water main break on union street between cedar and south. with the temperatures that we're dealing, with could you see some freezing in this area, so i would just avoid it altogether, if you have to maneuver through it, broad street would be your best alternate at this point. also, we had earlier incident in sharon hill, watson road, right at sharon park drive. this is fire location looks like they've got that under control. but again another area to avoid this morning if you can, with some of the activity, no major delays for mass transit. ukee? >> vittoria, thank you. winter is having a blast we're not back in the day we used to call it the hawk, whipping wicked winds swooping through the neighborhood, dangerous cold, forcing us to wear few extra layers, no doubt about that. 69th street terminal in upper darby. jan, good morning to you. >> reporter: ukee, good morning, i'm literally tearing up this morning, the winds is whipping hit make face, and my eyes, so forcing my eyes to water, this weather this cold, is brutal. the wind this morning cuts through every layer you have on straight to the bone, if you have to spend any prolonged period of time outside today and you are not prepared, you are not bundle up you're going to be in trouble. but commuters here at the 69th street terminal, they know the drill. their wrapped up some all the way to their eyes. and that's the best advice. the same can be said for people in center city this morning, old-man-winter sticking around, this time, he's brought with him dangerous windchills, feeling like below zero out here, as folks move along to their buses and trains, it is all business this morning, heads are down, walking fast, just trying to find the next warm place to be thawing out. take a listen. >> i can adapt to anything. layers, scarfs got to have a

much more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, ukee erika. see if stocks can ends this week on a high note. oil prices climbed, sent energy zero stocks up. dow gained about 110 points yesterday, nasdaq ended the day about 56 points higher. expedia is buying up its competition, and that could be good for customers. expedia says it will buy rival orbitz for about $1.3 billion. just a few weeks ago expedia said it is buying travelocity. >> this could give expedia more power to negotiate with airlines hotels, rental cars. that does mean better deals. >> whole foods could finally be shaking its whole paycheck reputation. the upscale supermarket has cut prices, as it tries to rework its image. whole foods says profits jumped in the last quarter after more than a year of slowing sales. >> and now way to solve the age old problem heat up food in the mike wave and realize on your third bite half of it is still cold.

nope. you would be wrong. b? also wrong. however, who said c? >> i did thank you. >> common! >> well done. >> again, 11 below zero. i mean -- that's cold stuff recording that low and it actually does feel that low across good portion of our area as we look forward in the forecast here. but for now at least storm scan3 is quiet. we've got generally high pressure in place at least briefly, but clipper number two, already off in the distance here, than looks awfully innocent right now. very light snow with it. it will reinforce chill in a very, very serious way. just talking about pretty brutal actual air temperatures in philadelphia, and here is a look at the windchills that we found from our eyewitness weather watcher network. this is rough. you are below zero, as it stands, when you factor in the wind. these are the values you need to be dressing for. even in middletown, delaware, it is feeling like it is nine below zero. that is really rough stuff. this is not just confined to the poconos folks. now by saturday, we showed you

you're coming from the westbound schuylkill expressway jumping on 202. not compromising too much of this situation here, a penndot vehicle already on scene pushed to the shoulder, but it is out there and we just want to make sure that you're headed outside with all of the right amount of information and caution that you can possibly do to keep you safe. or possibly keep in mind to keep you safe. traveling right now on 95, this is 95 right around cottman. southbound still looking pretty good. might feel little traffic around girard avenue, but not much. roads are still pretty much sleeping. in pottstown we do have disable vehicle this is on beech street at henry street. keep that in mind. water main break in kennett square. union between cedar and south. best alternate being broad. and you still want to be careful around this area with the temperatures. it could freeze. but don't forget, when you are on the road you can get updated information about traffic backups with the new your drive app. you can download that app for the iphone and android by going to cbsphilly.com/your

cold place. and there is another blast of cold coming. so, as we take you out to the live neighborhood network it looks innocent enough. if you didn't have the temperature in front of you 8 degrees, to start things off here, and as erika mentioned you really need to be paying more so attention to the windchills. but storm scan3 hey at least that's empty. at least we can bank on sunday shine. so eventually sun glare may end up being a problem for you. but as we look at the windchill, expectations here this morning oh, this is just so incredibly brutal. i mean, talking windchill values that are easily right now below zero, across the board, even down to the shore points. so even exceeding the expectations, that we've got for you posted in the purple there on the southern tip of the map. but, regardless, when you're talking single digits or worse r you need to be ready for it with nice heavy coat hat scarf gloves, everything that you have available to make sure that you're adequately prepared. >> we talk about this a l but his is one of the days where the cold will be dangerous, if you're not smart about it. so take care o
