good morning, everyone. a live look at outside as this morning wait until you feel the cold that is coming our way wye the the even of the week. the first though we have to deal with a little more snow heading our way this evening. live look at storm scan three, i'm ukee washington. i'm quarter von tiehl. lets get a look at our forecast with meteorologist katie fehlinger. that winter weather isn't letting up. >> it really isn't. i do see some milder air but it will come with the trade off of a new storm it looks like. we have that to discuss down the road but for here and new looking live in atlantic city it looks like there may be snow on the boardwalk here but generally speaking things have quieted down in between systems and as you said there is a new round of snow coming

our way. i want to discuss why that is coming in what we will find out of it. i can tell you it is nothing like what we saw yesterday. storm scan three starts off nice and quiet. we will have a beautiful sunrise, beautiful sunlight initially but there are clouds starting to bilo off the alleghenies and those will move our way and then we will see a couple snow showers. we showed thaw wider zoom on storm scan. bark is worse than the bite on this one. this is all courtesy of another trough that is digging in arctic air digging in, across basically the eastern half of the united states, and then if it feels pretty cold railroad but feels that much more colder on the days ahead. modest breeze. here's how it feels. single digits generally speak ago cross the board. coldest spot as ovulate is still mount pocono feeling like 13 below. your actual air temperature is way milder at 0 degrees. 13 degrees in philadelphia we are at the a whooping eight in atlantic it the i where we showed thaw field camera. not a terrible breeze that

the scene and we are dealing with this close another point. as you can see here thinks torresdale avenue. this would be levick. we are also not only seeing torresdale being closed between levick and robbins but levick itself around this activity. they said that the fire has been out here at least fire activity has been out here for over an hour and a half. we will update you on. that fire has been extinguished but in the meantime devereaux is your best bet. trying to head to the tacony palmyra bridge that may set you back and you may have to do maneuvering but generally speaking it does seem to be that they are moving things along. if you are traveling on the majors schuylkill expressway we have a disable truck here eastbound approaching spring garden not causing a problem, really that fire activity is only activity that we're dealing with right now, erika. >> vittoria, thank you. we have breaking news into the mt. airy section of philadelphia where police are investigating a fatal stabbing. the it had happen outside a bar near stenton avenue and johnson street. one person died and another was injured. police are still searching for

the suspect. no word on the condition of the second victim, "eyewitness news" is following this story. we will have the the latest updates throughout the morning. meanwhile an overnight fire forced people out in the cold in the tacony section. it broke out just before 3:00 in an apartment above harrison's hide out baron torresdale avenue. one person has been taken to the hospital n word on the severity of their injuries. fire and ice, this is the of aftermath of the the two alarm fire in west philadelphia on monday, while some are calling this the the ice castle there is a danger lurking. >> yeah, the it is is licenses and inspections department is war that i had building may collapse. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from south 52nd street with more on this story, jan. >> reporter: ukee and erika, good morning. as you can imagine this ice building has become quite at tracks here in west philadelphia, even gaining national attention but now as you mentioned l and i has deemed it dangerous.

the ice weighing so heavily on the structure that it may collapse. police are still securing the scene as l and i works with the own tore try to get this building demolish. since monday folks in philadelphia have been stopping by 52nd and locust streets to take pictures of the building. the it is eriely beautiful but the building was encased in ice as fire fight's tacked a huge fire on monday. the flames took more than two hours to contain and crews remained on the scene for the remainder of the day putting out hot spots. they continued to pour thousands of gallons of water on this building in single digit temperatures bringing to us this point. now neighbors are concerned that this building might fall down before it is demolish. >> i know that weight of that ice, that can take that building down. >> is there concern for the neighborhood and the the citizens and. >> reporter: now l and i is giving the owner of this business a chance to demolish this building but if this owner can't do it in a timely fashion the the city will step in.

that usually happens within ten days. we should soon see some action here on the scene. as you can imagine a lot of concern in this neighborhood. we will continue to follow this story. for now we are live from west philadelphia jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". tenants of the lower merion apartment building complained the heaters are not keeping they are warm enough. this is on westmontmont a avenue. the justin helm are says since friday the heat has all but stop working. tenant there say their managers are telling them that the heater is working and it is simply too cold. our steve paterson tried to get answer from his a woman identified by tenants we spoke to as the building manager. >> we have had some complaints from people in your building, people that said they are without heat, is this true. >> it is not verified. >> reporter: we have seen peoples thermostats and they appear to be either not functioning or telling the truth, what is happening? >> well, if you wouldn't block my way i would go look. >> reporter: steve and the

"eyewitness news" team continued to look, she didn't go look. lower merion housing officer tells "eyewitness news" that the township is looking into the the situation. township code for cold weather is keeping units above 68 degrees. a tip from an "eyewitness news" viewer led to us this story. we will continue to look into this and we will be following up erika. alleged under age drinking party in middlesex county, new jersey lead to charges a against a teacher. tracie harding is facing second degree child endangerment charges after the the party at the her how the in monmouth junction and there was a 15 year-old boy in the hospital. police say that boy's mother found him at harding's home unresponsive. investigators say teens were drinking vodka and beer under harding's supervision. harding is also under suspension from her teaching job at an elementary school. today the defense will present their case in the trial of the form's marine of killing chris kyle and another man. twenty-seven year-old eddie ray routh is a accused of

a deadly stabbing on the streets of mt. airy. one man was killed and another victim was injured in the violence near east washington lane and east johnson street. the exact site of the deadly stabbing is not clear so far, investigators are on the scene. a manhunt is underway for the attacker. building on south fifth second street in west philadelphia hit by a huge fire monday morning could be demolish out of safety concerns. that building was classified as imminently dangerous because of the weight of all of the ice that now surrounds it. fortunately in one was injured in the fire. our time 4:49. let check business. >> money watch's jill wagner joins us. jill, numbers are in for obama

right now at 4:53 let get traffic and weather together. how is it looking outside. >> as far as majors are concerned even surrounding neighborhoods we are dealing with black ice situations. we are in the dealing with any volume. waiting in the wings of rush hour. we have at least an hour and a half before we see formation of some sort of a rush hour but as of right now if you are traveling in the northeast section in the tacony section you will notice close another points of the levick and torresdale. the torresdale, if you are traveling in this area here this would be torresdale, this is levick. we have a fire location that was an earlier house fire they have gotten under control. the it happened close to two hours ago but still an active zone. you will find the closure point of levick street at

torresdale as well in between levick and robbins. so if you are traveling in and around that area, devereaux would be your best alternate but majors look fantastic. we are not seeing major delays. i-95 looking great and then the list continues. i-95, 476, pennsylvania turnpike all looking good but you will have black ice situations also because of this water main break in penns grove it could be a serious black ice situation closing 48 at 130. so penns grove auburn road would be your best alternate. mass transit may find delays as well. katie, how are we doing weather-wise. >> weather-wise in the bad at all, initially but later on tonight we will will see a couple snow showers rolling in coming courtesy of more than anything a new burst of arctic cold. don't get scared off by the word snow. it the is going to come through later today but i don't think you have to worry about any man major accumulation out of this at all. the let check with storm scan three which is quiet. we will likely end up with a
