this deadly stabbing happened at a meat packing plant on sawedder road in franconia township. "eyewitness news" reporter noel mcclaw is is live with the latest, noel. >> reporter: well, at jbin m meat packing plant it is hard to believe a few hours ago two co workers were involved in a fatal stabbing right here in this driveway it was a bloody scene to start the day a at jbs meat pack plant, at the hand of two employees, also known local willly as moyer meat packing. an altercation between two workers led to the double stabbing. >> one is deceased, the the other is in the the hospital right now. >> reporter: montco first a assistant district attorney says that the surviving employee is their suspect, he remains in custody as he is treated for his injuries. twenty-five year-old danny vasquez, was identified as the victim, the second employee who was killed. >> we're processing the the scene at this point. there is a a lot of work still to do on the investigation.

fire fighters, police, e ms and building inspector were all there on the scene. there have been 74 roof collapses in massachusetts since february 9th. no injuries were reported in this one, we all know it has been a historic winter in boston 96.3 inches of snow there, over 59.1 inches has fallen in february. well, we know frozen pipes and bursting pipes are a byproduct of our bitterly cold weather and it is not just home owner dealing with the aggravation. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers is at philadelphia city hall outside council chambers where they have been cleaning up all day matt. >> reporter: we made our way into council chambers where politicians are presently replaced bias you can see a sea of fans. that is right there was a pipe burst, here monday night into tuesday morning up on the ninth floor a pipe burst, likely because of the cold weather. that water made its way down into council chambers causing a soggy mess.

the pipe burst open overnight monday into tuesday, and a few days later, fans were still running full blast trying to air the place out. the damage wasn't too bad just minor damage to furniture, the carpet took a brunt, soggy and giving the whole room an unpleasant odor. cold weather is likely culprit. >> do you think it was something that frozen and that you had and cracked. >> reporter: those freezing temperatures caused many other pipes to break in the area says the the folks at this plumbing ape heating and cooling. >> it started last week when temperatures dropped and it has been constant since then. >> reporter: we went with technicians rj and brian on the few service calls for a frozen pipe that had in the yet burst. they sent an electrical current to the pipe to heat it up and got water flowing. >> with the cold temperatures it just prays on, weak pipes. >> reporter: second call saw a pipe burst small leak coming through a light socket in the garage. they could not a access the leak itself so they cut the

well today, by winter standard was a beautiful day outside. >> it was. the sunshine played a big role in what you could call will a warm up, if you compare to it what we have been through. we have live team three weather coverage with meteorologist justin drabick and the kathy orr. we will start with justin live in south philadelphia with the cbs-3 mobile weather lab. >> we are catching a break from this dangerous cold but we are getting to that time of the year when the sunnies getting stronger and stronger and you can certainly feel the difference. we have no sunshine right now but the cloud building overhead but it is cold when you factor in the actual air

temperature which is taken in the shade. check it out, this is the cbs-3 mobile weather lab where we're at the 30 degrees. enjoy this. we will not see these numbers for a couple days. wind are fairly light coming in at six and a half miles per hour. wind chills values are not too bad. earlier today it kind of felt warm outside. we have had the sun shining brightly here at the the cbs-3 studio and you can shelter yourself the from the wind, you can feel the sun rays going to work on your skin. i did a little experiment, took some temperatures, the actual temperature, in the air, was 30 degrees, and then, also i had another thermometer that i let sit out in the sun and let that bake. that temperature ended up being 54. that is how you strong the sunnies, and then i also had the digital thermometer which i measured the blacktop, that absorbs the heat. that also came in at 54 degrees. so that hot temperature and sunnies now starting to melt, and check out this time lapse shot from berks county. thinks at the the elementary school. thin coating of snow on the

ground. watch what happens when we go through time with the sun that ate that snow away and tried up that parking lot. so the sun can certainly do damage to the snow this time of the year. so lets talk about the the sun's rays. where are they right the now? when we go back to the first day of winter december 21st the the direct sunlight was all the way down south, tropic of cap corn at 23-point half degrees, latitude south. where are we now? 12.1 degrees latitude south. it is making its slow progress monthly. it will be lined up with the equator. you can see the sun getting stronger and stronger a as we head over the the next few days. back here with the cbs-3 mobile weather lab in south philadelphia, a huge snow pile is also starting to melt. you can sea water down here. a lot of puddles here. i also still have my thermometer here in case your wondering what the actual temperature is at snow. it is coming in at 23, 20 degrees fluctuating there. that is a interesting fact there. this thing is cool. i just want to measure everything.

i'm jessica dean with the top stories, a member of rapper nicki minaj's tour was stabbed to death following a confrontation in east mount air think morning. a second crew member was also stabbed, and is now in critical condition, and the search is on for a suspect. a work place stabbing end with a man dead and a suspect injured. this happened outside a meat packing plant in franconia township. police did recover a knife. it is not known what led to that stabbing. we're awaiting demolition of this doctor's office, currently, encased in ice at 52nd and location news west philadelphia. the department of licenses and inspections says the building is in danger of collapsing, kate? speaking of ice, look at all of the ice floating in the delaware river a beautiful shot from the palmyra cove nature park. you can see the city of philadelphia in the distance.

"eyewitness news", reporter cleve bryan is live in atlantic city with more on that cleve. >> reporter: chris, atlantic city's last police officer involved shooting happened last september behind me. they say that 20 year-old shawn brown had a hand gun when he got in the confrontation with police and today members of the community met with law enforcement to get a deeper understanding of the reality of police officer involved shootings. from ferguson missouri new york city and places like bridgeton, new jersey there has been outrage over incidents where police used deadly force. >> don't move. >> i know climate as far as law enforcement and community is bad at this point, very

the time of her actions. what i can say is at this point in time tamis a victim. >> police say myers and her son found the suspect and the suspect followed this victim back to the house. myers tied after being shot in the head and search for the suspect continues. or gone man who claimed police brutality is caught on video punching himself. that man told authorities that detectives gave him two black eyes while being questioned. but when police check video they saw him punching his face repeatedly. man admitted saying he thought he could get out of jail but instead he pled guilty to filing a false report and sentenced to time served. lets go to southern california now where an explosion, an explosion, rocked a refinery. four people suffered minor injuries in the incident at the exxon mobile refinery in torrence about 20 miles south of downtown l.a. the blast happened in a processing facility there it triggered a big smoke stack flare which plant officials say is used to burn off fuel

front doorsteps. >> reporter: survey by credit card.com find a large number of americans keep financial secrets from their loved ones. roughly one in five americans in the relationship admit they have spent $500 or more without their partner's knowledge and 6 percent of americans had a hidden credit card or bank account. scott and bethenny have seen couples get divorced over financial infidelity so they have developed a system to make sure they are always on the same page. >> if one of us will spend more than $200 we take a quick picture of it with our phone and text the the other person and basically say is it okay? are you okay if i buy this. >> reporter: system that has been good for both their finances and their marriage. now survey found men are more likely then women to spend money without telling their partner and younger people are more likely than older people to say they have had hidden accounts or large secret purchases. >> wow. >> secret credit card. >> wow. >> a tangled web we we have. >> i had a friend that hid
