you got windchill advisories by the way everywhere else. and they're all in effect until 11:00 this morning, but the coldest most brutal windchills we will find definitely go to carbon, monroe counties, and others like pike, and all of the other pocono counties up that way, northeastern pa. here's where we stand as i mention, trenton does have new record within 2 degrees of at least tying the record everywhere else. we need to hit one in philadelphia, for example to do. that will 5 degrees in wildwood, two atlantic city, your record zero within again 2 degrees of striking that record. and that's generally the story elsewhere. meanwhile, as the day goes on, this is rough stuff. 5 degrees at best by 9:00 a.m. that sun will be out and it continues to get higher with the sun angle and it is up longer with every passing day but, just doesn't help that much when you've got this kind of cold air already wedged in place. and, factoring in the winds thankfully that will be tapering with time, it is still going to feel that much colder so we will say it

you're traveling in the northeast, we have water main break at tasker and rhawn. there are lane restrictions. you can maneuver around it, however, bustleton avenue or sally would be your best bet. traveling amtrak, running on modified schedule because of the temperatures, erika? >> vittoria, thank you. these frigid temperatures are being blamed for eight weather-related deaths since the new year. two of them have been reported just in the last 48 hours. they were in montgomery, lehigh, and berks counties, and all of the victims were over 60. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now in blackwood, camden county with more on how people are managing this dangerous cold as katie was saying, 3 degrees now, but yes the windchill it is absolutely freezing out there, jan good morning. erika, good morning frigid is the right word. hovering right around 3 degrees, here in blackwood new jersey, this morning. i tell you, i do not envy all of the people that have to work outdoors, like the gas attendance here at the wawa, people have been running inside and out trying to stay

warm as best as they can. if you are not prepared today you are going to be in trouble. this is serious cold. now, this frigid weather is also keeping a lot of workers busy. fixing broken pipes and heaters, we caught up with one company that's been on the go non-stop, trying it keep people warm, delivering that precious home heating oil. to get the most bang for your buck, they suggest setting your thermostat to 68 degrees, and putting on auto, so your heater doesn't run all day when you leave the house. also busy, call centers like philly 311. operators are dealing with a lot of people concerned about not having heat, as the mercury continues to drop. all issues folks here in south jersey can't wait to be rid of as they stop here for cup of coffee looking for anyway to stay warm, and somehow, you guys, i was able to find a one person in all of south jersey, i think that likes this cold weather. take a listen. >> i would rather be cold than sweating. >> so, hey, there is always

see crime scene crews combing the scene for any amount of evidence they can find, that can help them track down this killer, we know the shots were fired, somewhere about 12:30 this morning witnesses in the area did call police, police arrived to find that man unconscious in the driver seat of his car. they also found several bullet holes in the driver side window, police tell us he was shot at close range and they're work to go find more details about where this guy may be, who shot him let's take a listen what the cops had to say. >> he was suffering from gunshot wounds to the face, and head. based on crime scene evidence, we know that seven shots were fired through the driver door window. we found seven bullet holes. >> police believe they have an idea of who this man s he's the registered owner of that mercedes, however, they do not know what the motive is for the shooting at this time. they of course are continuing to investigate this morning of the we are live in north

philadelphia, justin finch cbs-3, "eyewitness news". justin thanks so much. and we have just received an update on breaking news, cab driver hospitalized after a serious crash in west philly. you are looking at it right now. we just learn the other driver has been book on dui. it happened shortly before 3:30 this morning on the corner of 63rd and chestnut. police say the 50 year old cab driver was trapped in his car and rescuers had to cut him out. the other driver has minor injuries from the airbag. right now 5:39. and check this out huge hole left behind in this burlington county home after a car plowed right into it. police in lumberton tell us four cars were involved in a crash on main street last night. one of them ended up smashing into that house. several people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. no one was inside the home at the time. but the owners do have a big mess to clean up now. >> well, a 19 year old is behind bars this morning charged in the deadly road

rage shooting of a las vegas mother. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us from our news center details of this bizarre case. >> reporter: good morning, a loft twists, a lot of turns in this investigation including the relationship between the victim and the suspect who by the way is now in police custody. this is 19 year old eric, arrested after police say he gunned down a mother of four on february 12th following that road rage incident. now, initially the myers family pleaded for the public's help to find the killer described as a stranger. but, a couple of days later the victim's husband revealed he wasn't a stranger, that they new him and that his wife and their son went searching for him after the incident. >> we know this boy. i couldn't tell you this before. he knew which lived. we knew how bad he was but we didn't know he was this bad that he's got tone this point and his friend.
